Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Beds!!! I noticed that the property had just been under renovation. I really like the changes as it looks like one of the newer hotels in the area. My guess is that the beds were also changed, which allowed me to have one of the most peaceful night's sleep in a long time! The breakfast is pretty good and staff is great. I didn't see too much of a rush, but probably because the summer season has not hit. Nice stay with no issues... May 26, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not up to Expectations I am a frequent traveler spending at least 3-4 nights a week at an IHG hotel and therefore, I am a priority elite member and this stay was not up to expectations. While I normally travel for business, this was a special trip that I had planned for my wife as a gift to her. We were attending a concert in the area and it was mother's day weekend. One of the reasons that I booked this hotel was because of the location and the availability of the shuttle. We arrived at the hotel around 3:30pm. When we arrived, more than half of the parking lot was blocked off with orange cones, so it was difficult to find parking. Then at check-in we asked about the cones and were told they were taking pictures of the hotel (at 3:30 on a Saturday afternoon?). This seems like a poor business choice as the hotel was full on a Saturday. The front desk representative asked if we were attending the concert and if we would like to take the shuttle. We said yes. He told us the next shuttle was at 4pm. Then he looked and said it was full. He said I can put you on the 4:20 shuttle. And then someone told him it was full. So he told us that the shuttle was not available. This was very disappointing as it was one of the reasons that I booked the hotel. On the website, it says that a shuttle is provided within 5 miles of the hotel and I had inquired prior to our stay about the shuttle for the concert and was told that it would be available. Checkin was at 3 we were there at 3:30 and the shuttle was already full. He said that there was only space for 10 people on the shuttle. I asked if there would be any additional shuttles and was told no. Later, I was going back to the car passing the front desk and overheard someone else complaining about the shuttle since it is listed on the website and I heard the front desk arrange the shuttle for 4 additional people. On my way back from the car, I again inquired about the shuttle and asked if they had added another trip and was told no -- even though I had just overheard these arrangements being made. Therefore, we had to pay over 40.00 for parking. After check-in we were directed to the stairs, so I am assuming that no elevator is available in this hotel. So we carried our bags up the stairs and went to use the keys in the door. They didn't work. So back down the stairs to the front desk to fix this issue. Which they did fix, but I had just left the desk. I never have this problem so I'm not sure what the issue was. The room was large, and that is about the best thing that I can say. There was no closet in the room. The light fixtures in the bathroom were exposed. It was just a light bulb in the fixture with no cover. The bathroom was arranged odd. So, my wife had to stand over the toilet to blow dry her hair as the blow dryer is next to the toilet and not the sink. I understand the hotel is being renovated but this is beyond an upgrade to the hotel. We arrived at the hotel late from the concert and again orange cones were blocking most of the parking. The next morning we enjoyed the breakfast. No paper was delivered to our room. The front desk indicated that they were not available. As I mentioned this was a special trip for my wife. She has been bugging me to switch hotel groups and this trip may have done it. May 18, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Look at a different hotel This location is far below the Holiday Inn standard! It had signs post that they are updating, but I didn't see any signs of work being done. I was upgraded to a King Suite, it was out dated and small. The tile in the bathroom was cracked & broken around the toilet, towel rack pulled away from the wall, the shower head was set to small, wall pictures were faded and the bed was very uncomfortable. Spend the extra money and go the the Holiday Inn or Crowne Plaza, both are within a mile of this hotel. May 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Most Comfortable Beds in Texas I am a frequent traveler, spending between two and four nights every week on the road, primarily in Texas and Louisiana. I can speak with authority when I say that this place has the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. And I mean comfortable. I get the best nights sleep whenever I stay here. Being on the road a lot, I also appreciate the proximity of this hotel to the major highways. I'm not here for its convenience to Cowboys Stadium or Six Flags, although I'm sure that's a perk for those on vacation. I initially chose it because I can quickly get in and out and be on the road headed to my appointments, rather than wading thru heavy traffic. That and there are plenty of restaurants close by to hit on my way in at the end of a work day. The staff have always been among the most courteous I've encountered. I've never taken advantage of the breakfast, so I can't really comment there. Plenty of parking, even for my monster truck and trailer. I would most definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking to stay in the area. May 14, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by bad billing service billing service i got two billings the in my credit card for one time in the Hotel. now i have a lot of trouble with my bank to get my money return. He books around 1900$ to much. i think, that never did go. so my result: it was my last time in this hotel May 14, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Renovating the wrong part! They were in the middle of doing renovations, which ment that the workers would wake us up at 6 am working right outside our 2nd floor window. They need to update the insides before they update the outside! the beds were severly worn, my wife and I were thrown together becasue the king bed sunk in the middle, 6 inches lower than the sides. The shower had holes in it. when we checked in the clerk was very unpleasant, made me feel as though I were bothering him, even though he knew I was a gold member. March 21, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Arlington This was my third Holiday Inn Express stay in a row on a business project, with this location being inferior, the first two, excellent! I booked this location online with my credit card as a Priority Awards Member. As I had been robbed in a previous city, I had no I.D., but a valid copy along with the police report and replaced credit cards. Even had the front desk person call the first Hotel that I stayed for four weeks. I understand rules are rules, but when you make a single female sleep in her car until 3:00 A.M. for other arrangements to be made is downright ridiculous and dangerous! March 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nothing to mark as poor experience! Really nice hotel. the place looked like one of my video games-long halls and nice carpet! Very cool! The hotel and the rooms are clean, clean, clean. The breakfast room was big and the food was good. Staff is friendly. Priority rewards: newspaper I guess. Seems to be one every morning at my door. Very easy to get to 6 Flags. I would give the place an A. March 12, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not very good The free nachos and coke were ok....did not like my room was all the way on the north west side had to walk to the next building to get my key fix.Did not like the room was old fashion lookin tv was not clear will not be staying here anymore I usually stay at the one by the parks mall we be going back there March 11, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Experienc This Holiday Inn Express was recently renovated and looks great. The property is clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is great. I traveled to Grand Prairie on business. It is easy to get to the airport, Dallas, and more. Walking distance to 6 Flags and the sports venues. Restaurants are accessible, but only one is easily walkable. The rest are fairly close though. I stay at a lot of HIE for business and this was one of the best February 25, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst by far. Booked a stay from 27 Jan -30 2013. There was no mention of the ongoing construction (roof being re-shingled) on the website. Had I known there was going to be folks pounding on the roof I would have booked elsewhere. When I went to check in I wasn't greeted as a platinum or told about the hotel feature/ amenities. I had to ask the desk clerk if my priority club number was on the reservation. She said NOPE... I showed her the confirmation email on my phone that showed my number was on the booking. Getting my room required me to go through a maze of hallways and doors. The room smelled like mildew and the window looked directly at a wall. Maid service was slow and inconsistent. I returned to the hotel at 4pm and my room hadn't been cleaned. Also found long black hairs on the toilet. The business center is 2 computers (one which didn't work) crammed into a corner of the lobby. I was surprised to learn after returning home that the hotel had a breakfast and I hear a manager’s reception. The desk clerk said nothing about either. There were also no signs for either. As I was staying in the wing furthest from the lobby I wasn't using the lobby entrance… Would have been nice to know. I have been using Holiday Inn hotels for 20+ years and can honestly say this was the worst yet. I am returning to Arlington in a few weeks. I will be staying at the Holiday Inn a few miles away from this one. February 20, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic Idea After a long day at work, I checked in and found that this hotel offered for a couple of hours, free hot snacks and ice cold drinks. All week too. Very nice to be able to sit with other road warriors and vent the day. Wish more hotels did something like this. Thankyou. February 10, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Hopefully it gets better from here Be careful. Website did not say they were undergoing construction process of renovation. If you like sleeping with thump sounds all over your ceiling, it might be your cup of tea. I hope that the renovation finishes soon and makes it a more comfortable stay. February 3, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad choice This is the worst Holiday Inn Express I have ever stayed in. The furniture in the room was falling apart.(Coffee Table & Luggage stand). January 26, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by HARD beds! The beds are as hard as a brick....not nearly as clean as other HI Express locations I have stayed in the past. Hotel/motel is definitely older and starting to show its age.... January 24, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Housekeeping Staff Needs to Do a Better Job There was a tiny blob of some substance on my night stand with a long hair attached to it. This was disgusting and something that the housekeeping staff, if they were doing their job, could have easily cleaned. It leads one to believe that they were not obviously doing the basics in the room. There was another long hair on the bathroom wall above the toilet. I did not report this because as a business traveler, I came into the room late, ready to crash, and I didn't want to be moved. January 22, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Required room change - Smoke Upon checkin, I was put into Room 108. This is the same room my business partner stayed in in prior weeks. He complained about the smell of smoke. After unpacking and going to sleep, I requested to be moved because the room is saturated with smoke. It appears to be masked, but I will NEVER stay in a room that smells like smoke. The staff relocated me, but this should not happen. January 15, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good service Hotel is kind of hard to get around in. I was up in the far right wing so getting to the front desk was confusing. Also the toilet broke. Needs updating. Compared to other Holiday Inns it's not as nice. People working there were friendly and helpful but the value is not as good. December 10, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Guest experience We were in town for a family funeral, when I booked I asked about berevement rates, i ws told yes they offered them but those rates were already booked, but I could use AAA if I had it. As it turned out there was a Cowboys game that weekend and they wanted to have the room to sell at a higher rate. The was fine, the food was fine. Location was great, close to everythig, if we had been there for a vacation. Need to install screens on the windows. When my son and I check in I was given a courtsey priority club bag, with one small bottle of water, nice, but 2 bottles. one for each person would be nicer. Housekeepers were pleasant, as well as staff. November 30, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great customer service we had a great stay, and the staff was so nice. I think her name was Amy. she deserves a raise for going above and beyond. November 24, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The trains The staff is absolutely the best here. The room was more than comfortable but the location suffers from the nearby location of several trains which blow their whistles at all hours of the night. I’m a light sleeper and this was a problem for me. Otherwise, this is a great property. November 7, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn Express Arlington, Tx Was there Sat 10-27 through 10-29-2012. It was a Cowboy football weekend. Got shuttle service to Cowboy stadium. The staff was very helpful. Would recommend to anyone. November 4, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by No sleep This location itself needs some upgrades, it looks very out dated inside of the rooms, and I changed to three different rooms. The first room we had, our fridge was not working, having a little baby we need to store milk, so we changed rooms. The next room we had there was an annoying truck alarm that was going off for about three hours every 15 min. right outside our window, so we had to switch rooms again, for the baby. The third room we had we finally got some sleep. The experience itself was overall fair, but the staff was excellent, they did everything in their power to help us out, that is the reason i would recommend this location to friends and family, helpful and friendly service. November 3, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Near Six Flags This is an older property that HIE must had acquired. U shape property and had to go to the otherside to use elevator, with our rooms on the opposite side. Need to do something about that. Not good for elderly people or disable folks. Breakfast bar was good. Well stocked and clean. Front desk staff very helpful. Liked the towels located at the end of the tub/shower. Property could use some updating, but it not that bad to not stay there. Close to Cowboy Stadium and Texas Rangers ball park. I would stay here again. November 1, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by A little tired looking Have stayed at several Holiday Inn Expresses recently and looked forward to relaxing at another one when in town for a family wedding. This Inn seems to be re-purposed from some other hotel chain or something. The lobby was up to what I expected and the breakfast area was OK but not as nice as my stays elsewhere. The hallway in my wing of the hotel was tired looking with stained carpet. I had been "upgraded" to a two bedroom which I didn't really need and my guess is that it once was a suite with a sitting room that they just put an extra bed into. I couldn't open the door all the way without hitting the rolling desk chair. I would have preferred just having a place where my wife and I could have sat down at the same time!. The fitness area was tiny and equipment sparse. Wasn't horrible but certainly not as nice as what I was expecting from other Holiday Inn Express stays in other cities. October 26, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor housekeeping / This facility is in need of updating. This stay was disappointing. Toilet seat rocked back and forth. Bathroom sink was clogged. Also ketchup packets were on floor when I arrived and continued to be there for my 3 day stay. Sheets were very old and uncomfortable. Also, Saturday evening I went down to front desk and asked for late check out on Monday and he proceeded to act like it was a big deal and told me I had to speak to a manager the following morning. Which I was unable to do since my schedule didn't allow. So,I actually had to call Sunday while I was attending a seminar. October 14, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Only one elevator in the building & no blow dryers My daughter and I stayed at this Holiday Inn this past weekend. Overall we had a good experience. Hotel was clean typical Holiday Inn. Staff was very nice. Bathrooms had excellent lighting and great shower pressure, which are some times not so great in hotels. Bathroom was small, but had a really neat set up for the towels, etc in the back of the bath tub, have never seen this before, but really liked it. Breakfast was very good. I think this is a new Holiday Inn property. But you can tell it is an older building. The building is U shaped. When you check in and you are on the second floor as we were, you are directed up the stairs to your room. No elevator in the lobby, just stairs. When I asked about an elevator to take our luggage up we were directed to the other side of the hotel where the elevator was located and of course our room was on the opposite end of the elevator. Got to the room and there was not blow dryer. Called down to the desk and was told they would have maintenance bring one up, but got a call a few minutes later that there were no dyers in any of the rooms that they were on order. Had this been stated on the amenties list or somewhere I could have brought my blow dryer from home, but instead had to go buy one. I hope they can do something about the elevator issue, this is a neat hotel with high ceilings. October 8, 2012
