Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 3rd time is the charm When I checked in Chris was so nice and friendly. However the first room he sent me to had a leak and the bed was flipped up . Room number two had been broken into and had a broken door and lock. Room three was fine however I was so nervous thinking about the first two rooms I didn't sleep well. I was hosting a job fair and explained to the front desk clerk what I would need and that I would need some copies. I found her rude and somewhat clueless. Talking to her was a chore. Later when two other ladies arrived they were much nicer and friendlier. Also the lady doing breakfast that morning was so sweet and nice she waited for me to get my food even though it was after 9:30. I appreciated that very much because I had lost track of time trying to get ready for my job fair. The next day however the breakfast lady was rude and seemed overwhelmed. When asked why the pancake machine wasn't working she became snappy. (It was out of mix) When asked if there was any more bacon she said simply "wait". I'm very disappointed overall and will not be returning. August 10, 2014

Although the bed seemed comfortable to me, my back didn't agree and every morning when I awoke, I had a terrible back ache. Even though my back ached, I do not hesitate to recommend this hotel. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable room, nice staff We stayed in this hotel for four days while visiting Denver. The staff was always helpful and friendly. A man named Gene, took care of us each day at breakfast. He kept all the breakfast foods stocked and always available to help. The only negative was that two of the four days we were there, after coming in from sight-seeing in the evening, we had no towels and had to get them from the front desk. Our sheets were not changed at all during the four days, either. The maid service did not seem to be the best that we have encountered in our travels. August 2, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst Holiday Inn Express that I've stayed at When we travel, I always look for a Holiday Inn Express since we enjoy staying there and the quality is consistently great. This Holiday Inn Express was the worst experience that I've had. The door to the room wouldn't shut, and had to slam it several times to get it to latch. When I mentioned it to someone on the cleaning staff she said I had to close it "firm". Then, the A/C only cooled the room to maybe 76 degrees even when putting it on the lowest setting, so we were hot all night. Then to make it worse, several times during the night and day a loud noise would occur which sounded like a loud water pump. So, we woke up several times that night from the loud noise. In the morning, we had to leave around 6:45 for the airport and simply wanted some milk for our cereal and the staff member getting breakfast ready refused to unlock the fridge since breakfast wasn't until 7am. He was setting out food, etc so I'm not sure why unlocking a fridge was so beyond him. Needless to say, we would never stay at this hotel again or recommend it. July 29, 2014

The hotel was far from full and yet they could not keep up with the few people there. I went out for breakfast. I would not stay here again. July 29, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good, but needs to be refreshed! We had two rooms. Room 227 was a little dated, but clean. However the next morning when we went to shower we saw no bath towels had been provided. We called reception and were told they would send some up right away. After almost 30 minutes, we called again and then someone brought the towels. No apology was offered and the attitude was very poor. The other room I believe was Room 211. That one did have bath towels but the window didn't lock. There was black electric tape in an attempt to seal the remaining opening. The elevator was always dirty with a banner that was only partially attached to the inside wall. What I found excellent was the breakfast service and choice of foods. July 24, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Superior service My sister and I went to her daughter's wedding. We were so happy that we chose the Holiday Inn Express in Aurora on Abilene street. The staff from the Manager Jackie, Chris R. and Gene made our stay very enjoyable. Jackie made it possible for us to stay 4 days, Gene was at the top of his game every day the breakfasts were outstanding. The food was always hot, and so good. Awesome! Chris was also very helpful . Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet room First impression of the hotel is that it is an older hotel, carpets a bit worn. Service was excellent. We picked the hotel because it's proximity to Anschutz Medical Center. Bed was a bit hard. Breakfast had variety and so was okay. When we check in room was quite cold, but it was easy to adjust the temperature using the thermostat control and reducing the fan strength. The location is so-so, as you need to drive to restaurants (within a mile). We will likely pick another location for a future visit. July 19, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff & breakfast The staff is very friendly and offered the best service I had ever experienced at a hotel stay. The room was always clean not to mention the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Every morning breakfast was fresh and had a great selection that there was no reason to go anywhere else. The manager also had a wine tasting treat for guest that was phenomenal. I truly recommend your next stay to be at Holiday Express! July 16, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable and clean We enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Denver. The only difficulty we had was that the type of room we wanted was not available. There were three people in our party, and the only thing left to sleep in was a room with a King bed/sleeper sofa. So one of the guests had to sleep on the pull-out couch. We were glad to have a room to stay in for the night, but we'd been traveling for almost 13 hours, so a pull-out couch was not the most comfortable thing to sleep on at the time. Cleanliness was good and the King bed itself was very comfortable. I'm almost always pleased when I stay at a Holiday Inn Express. July 14, 2014

Older hotel with many signs of wear and tear. In and out of hotel many times without any of the staff behind desk saying anything. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Service Lacking - Sleep quality poor Hotel under renovations in late June 2014. Couches everywhere, and smelled funny. Wasn't a pleasant check-in, though service staff was friendly and apologized for the inconvenience. While I typically travel for business, this was a liesure trip with my family. I'd booked for 4 people (2 adults 2 children), and had two problems with this. 1) Appeared the staff had placed all "families" on the same floor. Result was crying babies all night, and lots of noise. Sleep quality was severely degraded. Horrible, in fact. 2) The room only had 2 towels. I tried to call housekeeping and got a "this mailbox is full" message. As a result, I went down to the front desk and personally made the request for additional towels. I was the only person at the desk at the time. I was assured they'd be up shortly. 45 minutes later, my wife and I were still waiting for towels so we could take our showers (children were done). I finally called down, and the same attendant said "Oh yeah! I'll be right up." My wife's comment mirrored mine. "I'll never stay at this hotel again." The next morning, when we checked out (about 12 hours after checking in), the SAME person who checked us in was at the front desk!! While it's possible this was a 12 hour shift, I'm not surprised the quality of service was degraded. When people are tired, they make mistakes. Holiday Inn Express is usually very good. I'd like to think this was an isolated incident. As a positive note, the breakfast was outstanding (as usual). Love the biscuits and gravy and pancake machine. Dining area was very clean. Friendly breakfast staff always kept the dining area clean and stocked for those who tend to go back for seconds.
