Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service The staff was very friendly and helpful and professional - I did not experience the same quality of excellence at another Holiday Inn Express in Columbia that I visited last year. I was pleased with the overall service and my room was great! I would like to have more selections for breakfast (gravy with the biscuits) but the food was pretty good anyway. February 9, 2016

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Issues to resolve It took 3 tries to get my key to be activated to open my room door Exit door next to AT&T Building needs to be fixed. Takes multiple scans to ever activate. Young attendant at from desk even acknowledged her master key doesn't work on this door without several tries. Desk Chair will not adjust up and down Breakfast - waited 10 minutes for more cheese omelets to be brought out but they never did so got scrambled eggs that were like eating rubber Worst HIE I've stayed at in years I travel weekly all over GA & SC February 8, 2016

Good value for downtown Columbia. The only negative that I have found with most HIE is not enough outlets in the rooms for business travelers. I work from my room so need outlets for printer, computer, phone, etc. I did not see a USB outlet. February 6, 2016

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Overall, it was okay I would not stay here again, due to a few bumps. It started at check in, somehow our reservation was can canceled. Initially, it was not clear if we (coworker and I) could stay there. Blow Dryer did not work, if you are women, and you want to bring just one more pair of shoes or something, saving room in your suitcase by not bringing a blow dryer is key. The one in the room I was staying in, did not work until the last day. It was changing rooms to finish getting ready, no mention until check out of compensation for my company or frustration. Staff was kind during the day, night staff could be short tempted, but overall no single staff member was unhelpful. Breakfast, was similar to all hotels in the same price range. They had a happy hour, with water and salty items. That was different, but again lack luster. Similar hotels have done other things, like offering Juice or maybe small sodas with the salty items. The fitness center, was outdated and well, not great. The elliptical was not working properly. All the equipment was dated and older. I'm not expecting state of the the newest and best equipment, but working would be good. Shuttle, I asked about a shuttle to the night life, no answer and call a cab for us. We drove. Parking was not fun. It would be nice for a shuttle maybe just on busy days? February 3, 2016
