Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very Disappointed! I reserved a 2 queen bed room with pull out sofa for the One Direction Concert for August 17th. Check in wasn't until 3pm so we arrived around 3:30. Well we had to wait in the valet line for 2 plus hours before we were asked to drive to the lot across the street. We had to unload our luggage and carry it across the street after giving our keys to the valet. Who by the way just had a handful of keys and dropped them in the street on his way across. Once across the street we had to wait in line again to check in for our room. Once we got to the counter we found out that the rooms weren't even ready so we had to wait again. Apparently the washer was down and linens weren't ready for all the rooms. We finally got the keys to our room with less than a half hour til the concert. We had planned to get ready, freshen up and have dinner before the concert but because of the three hour wait to even get checked in we didn't have time for that. On top of that horrible experience we didn't even get the room we requested, we didn't have the sofa so someone had to sleep on the floor. Not all the blankets were there so we called for more towels and the blanket that was missing when we got back from the concert and still didn't receive them by the time morning came. When I went down for breakfast there was another line to get anything for breakfast so I just went to the front desk and asked about the towels. Finally two hours later with less than a half hour til check out we got one set of towels. I took my niece to the pool and there weren't even towels there for her to dry off with after her swim. The Staff was pleasant enough though and did apologize for the hassle but it was just a horrible experience waiting in the 80+ degree sun for hours to check in. I was given free parking and a reduced rate but I will never go back to that hotel again! September 17, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff at breakfast. Very friendly and helpful! The stay was fine on the whole, but the WIFI didn't work and a shuttle driver couldn't be arranged in the morning. The night shuttle driver "Q" was awesome and the morning breakfast crew were amazing. September 17, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Will definitely stay here again! Really enjoyed our recent visit to Detroit to see family - we stayed in the Detroit Downtown location and enjoyed it. Centrally located, close to everything we wanted to see, and easy to find. Parking was taken care of by the valets - very nice and courteous. Fast service, too. Will return again on future visits! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great value for the price I stayed for three nights at the Holiday Inn Express in downtown Detroit. The hotel is an older building, which I think at least partially explains how quiet the rooms are and how well-built and solid the hotel feels. None of those flimsy walls so often found in newer hotels through which it seems one can hear the person next door turning a book's page; this hotel has solid architecture that I found very comforting and even a bit nostalgic. Truly they don't build hotels like this anymore. My room was very quiet and I slept very well. I really enjoyed the suite set-up with a kitchen, large refrigerator, etc. The breakfast had sufficient options to satisfy one. The only downside is that nearby dining options are very limited. But other than that I really enjoyed my stay, and found the service to be friendly and helpful as well. September 16, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean, Friendly Staff, Great Location Overall enjoyed stay at the Holiday Inn Express - Downtown Detroit during the weekend of 9/4/14 - 9/7/14. Great location with a shuttle to take you to tourist attractions. Staff was very friendly and my room was clean. Lots of channels to watch on the TV in the room, and the bar & grill next door was open late that served good food. September 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best place to stay when going to a Tiger's game! We never stay anyplace else...this is the best place to stay. Their shuttle brings you to and from the game and then when we wanted to go to a bar to watch the Michigan game...the shuttle brought us there and picked us up again later. The valet staff are super friendly, the rooms are very clean and we stayed in a suite which was amazing. Would highly recommend this to anyone! September 10, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel Staff Everyone at the hotel was extremely friendly. The woman that checked us in was very friendly and personable. She was so caring about a couple that came in to get a room for the night, but the hotel was completely booked up. She called multiple hotels and secured a room for them in an outlying area. She then called a taxi to come pick them up to take them to that hotel. She is in the right line of work - Hospitality. She is a good person to have on the frontline of Holiday Inn showing the customer that they care. September 10, 2014
