Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendliest Service Ever The hotel itself is located in a great spot for downtown and the valet service is nice. The rooms are clean and in good shape with rooms being a decent size. Where this hotel makes itself better than the rest is the staff service. The front desk here is extremely friendly and they took the time to learn who I was and why I was in town. Katie and Jeremy at the desk made me feel like a special guest and now I will only stay at this hotel when they send me to motown. November 18, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It was a great price for what we received Very close to People Mover and we were able to go where we wanted without using our car. Went to Red Wings game and ate twice at Greektown. We would stay here again. We did bring our own glasses for cocktails in our room, as we were aware that these hotels usually use plastic water glasses. The breakfast was GREAT. A large variety. Staff was very helpful. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Back again I've stayed at this property several times as I often visit Detroit for music events. The last time I was here they were remodeling so it was a bit noisy, however this time the remodel was complete and there was no construction. The property is in a great location and I really appreciate the valet service as I know parking is an issue in the city. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the breakfast staff. There was a large number of young people at the hotel for both the concert I was there for as well as a comicon convention and they did a great job keeping food stocked for us! They were so friendly too, it was like I was back home with all of the southern hospitality. I will definitely be returning to this property! November 14, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Location and Friendly Staff are the Only Positives Stayed to tour the city and visit relatives which unfortunately coincided with the SHPE convention over the weekend. Unable to check in before 4 p.m. - without exception on the Friday, but the valet service was efficient and worthwhile. $20.00 is a bargain. Convention attendees really let loose on the Saturday night - complete with loud, drunken behaviour that was not quelled through the evening/night despite Security's best efforts. Older hotel has steel doors that slam shut each and every time...the drunks went from room to room "visiting", yelling and calling friends on their cell phones in the hallways. Next time, police will get called to deal with the situation. Internet service on the 10th floor was poor as mentioned by other guests. Breakfast staff very welcoming and efficiently kept food restocked. Housekeeping staff was excellent and kept you apprised of when your room would be cleaned. November 14, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad experience from the check in Could not get an earlier than 4:00pm check in even being an IGH member, only after several requests and much insistence we could get a room by 3:00pm we needed it to leave our bags, change clothes and leave to a reunion by 3:30pm. Too many excuses given for not letting us use the room before 4:00pm, anyway, when checking in membership was not recognized and not even an apology was provided but more excuses. If it is not enough, valet parking service is the same bad level as well, we requested car 10min before using it by calling from the room, had to wait more than 5 min to somebody to pick up the phone and once they confirmed the car would be ready and we come downstairs, car is not there and there is no people, I had to personally go and pick up my car in the parking lot behind the hotel building. Service provided here is terrible for the price paid, I am an IHG member and this location is the worst I have stayed in. November 12, 2014
