Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by mjorg50 Comfortable Bed, but poor vending machine/front desk services
The stay was okay. Had to wait a bit at the desk for the peson in front of me to separately check in for three different rooms. Our reservation was made several hours before our arrival, but was not ready. It had to be made as if we had just walked in off the street. There was absolutely nothing given to us for being a Priority Member. The soda vending machine upstairs took my quarters, but only dispensed a cola every other time, rather than every time is had received 75 cents. The front desk person said that she could do nothing about that either. We travel I-95 a couple of times each month, but Dunn will not be a repeat Holiday Inn Express. We do like the brand, but we will stay a little farther north or south of Dunn.

Holiday Inn Logo was missing from Northbound I-95 "Lodgings" sign. We U-turned at next DUNN exit (final of 3) and rechecked our GPS device. Southbound sign was in place, and motel was easy to find... Only problem encountered at check in was that we had reserved a King Leisure - but had to 'trade' for a Queen room in order to get easier access, and a handicap shower.. Not a big deal, as this was our last night on the road before getting home after nearly 2 weeks traveling - and touring in the - NOT SO WARM-Southeast.. .. We have been Holiday Inn Priority Club members since 1983, and customers before that...

We appreciated a comfortable bed. The room was clean and appealing in decor. The breakfast selections were numerous and delicious. We especially enjoyed the warm cinnamon rolls, fresh-tasting orange juice, and crisp bacon.

Front desk staff was rude and bothered when they had to do their job. Bathroom was dirty and when brought to the front desks attention, it was like "OK and so what do you want me to do about it."
Breakfast coffee was cold, and when asked if there was anymore hot coffee, I was reminded that the coffee was just made FRESH, therefore i went and bought my coffee somewhere else

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SCHHI Just fine!
This HIX has recently been fully renovated. It is a very quiet, comfortable place with a fantastic front desk, breakfast and house keeping staff that is very attentive. It is located very handy to the Brass Lantern steakhouse, an absolute gem of a place.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Printer Broken Elevator
Senior guests in the mid seventies and both guests are Platinum members. Upon check-in we learn that the elevator is out of service. The parking lot is nearly empty but when we asked for a first-floor room location we were told "none available". With our heavy suit case and two laptop computers we climed the double flight of stairs to the first floor.
The room was next to the ice-making machine . . . quite noisy. The room itself was nice.
The staff members we saw like to smoke and hung out at the front door portico . . . smoking and allowing the second hand smoke to enter the lobby area. Apparently, the hotel was not crowed so that it was standard operating procedure for me to find a smoker or two always stationed at the front door each time I left and returned to the hotel during my stay.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SCHHI Tremendous value....
This has to be one of the best bargains on I-95 in mid-North Carolina. It is an older property that has been renovated, has up-to-date furnishings, carpeting, television, etc., and bathrooms that also have been renovated, but are smallish even though the vanity/sink are located directly outside of the bathroom. In addition to being a great value, it also has a tremendous staff. The front desk staff is very good; the lady who takes care of the breakfast area is exceptional, probably the best food service employee we have seen in any of the "free breakfast" hotels; and even the maintenance man seems to always be around when you are loading or unloading your car and asks if any help is needed? In terms of restaurants, a BBQ/Steak restaurant is directly across the street and a Cracker Barrell is on the other side of I-95, maybe all of 5 minutes drive from the hotel. Access to/from I-95 is very easy.
