Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by small and basic We typically try to stay at Holiday Inn Express as we travel. This was by far the smallest room that we have ever stayed in. We have 5 people and stated they could accommodate us with a rollaway bed. When they did bring a rollaway up to our room, there was no space for it. The guy stated that we just needed to move the table and chairs into another corner of the room to fit this bed and then left. We had to move the furniture and once set up there was barely enough room to move around in the room. The room was clean but definitely could use some updating. June 29, 2014

Bathroom appeared to have been remodeled by someone who didn't know how to work with tile. Poor job. Breakfast selections were plenty, food was tasty. Plenty of seating. June 14, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by a little extra customer service I needed a refrigerator and since most of the holiday inn properties have them standard, I did not think to check this hotel. When I mentioned this to the desk clerk after looking at my room, she solved my problem in 5 seconds by moving me to a room with a kitchen. The hotel is beautiful and the customer service is outstanding! June 3, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn really needs to Step it up, Not a great Stay Parking was small and very overcrowded. Check in: Girls at the desk were very polite and friendly, but there seemed to be a a lot of confusion over what rooms were open, and who was in what room, or did they just out someone in room. I was to be working overnight till about 9am and asked for a late check out, so I could get some sleep before getting on the highway for another long drive. They suggested I join this HI rewards deal and it offered members late checkouts, 2PM, great I thought! When we were all done I asked, what time was to check out, She said latest we can give you is 12.. ??? OK. The Room: No fridge to keep my goods for the night cold. Paper thin walls, I could hear the couple on one side of me fighting about were they should have stayed and where they're going to eat at... Could hear the guy on the other side complaining about what he was going to wear.. Internet, was so slow timmed out so bad finally had to tether my cellphone to my laptop, it was blazing fast compared to this.. I do networks, routers, swtiches and optical and other gear for a living. I could not even log into my devices and get configs, text only, no graphics... Pings and traceroutes looked like something I'd expect to see in a 3rd world coutry... Housekeeping: Keep in mind, Earlier I said I was told I could get 2PM check out, but then they changed it to Noon... House keeping, bangs on my door at 10:00am sharp... I told them I was sleeping and had a Noon checkout.. They said they were sorry and went and banged on the next room. 10:25, they banged on the door again, again, I told them I was sleeping and had a Noon checkout.. They said they were sorry and went and banged on the next room.... I figured I was not getting any sleep so I got up got my stuff ready figured I shuld get a quick shower... 11:30am, while I was in the shower, House keeping banged on the door again... Since it was so important that they get in there, I yelled, I'm in the shower, come on in... They said they would come back... I travel alot for work, I'd say three to four days a week most weeks. I won't stay there again. There are far too many choices that are much better and some even cheaper.. April 17, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Should have been Noted some How. I'm a loyal HI Express guy, mainly due to their business friendly internet and room size. I travel and do training/certifications with a full mobile office. Computer, printer-fax-copier, camera and laminator plus personal electronics. Thus the internet is a must plus a good night rest. Well it seems they are remolding this hotel. It seems that they do things a little different in Hannible. Some examples are like leave the doors from the bathrooms that are being remodeled leaning in the hallways and yes blocking the door to your room. Then they seem not open or air out the area after paint, the smell is quite evident and effects the ability of a good nights sleep. Of course the painters showed up a little after 7 and yes it is true they waited to start until 7:59.59 AM but had the paint cloud going strong at 8:00.33 AM. BUT...the show stopper was the internet when working was so slow I thought I was in dial up land but it did not matter it only worked about 7 to 8 mins in an hour.... It would have been nice to have known the hotel was such a mess... March 23, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by kinda bummed I want so badly to be a loyal IHG person, but I can't. This one fell right in line with my other IHG property experiences (all Holiday Inn Express). Terrible internet. A POOR, POOR, POOR attempt at breakfast. I travel over 100 nights a year and stay at Holiday Inn Express tiered hotels for work.....Holiday Inns have the worst internet and breakfasts. Kinda important for business travel on a budget. This room didn't have a desk either. I won't be in a hurry to return to this location. March 11, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Room needed work Only stayed here because my reservation at the Holiday Inn in Quincy, IL was made for the wrong date by my travel agency. I was told that I received the last remaining room in the hotel. Unfortunately, this was a smoking room which is definitely not my preference, but if it is all you have left, I understand. Wall paper in the room was bubbled and coming off the wall in locations. The floor of the shower felt like I was going to go through it. The overall cleanliness of the room wasn't bad, but still could have used some work. Will be sure to make reservations for the Holiday Inn in Quincy next time and get full confirmation that my reservation went through. February 24, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great service We stayed here for one night. The man working the desk was great! He told us about different things, including how Pizza Hut would deliver our pizza to the room. We had been driving all day and it sounded good just to have someone bring us a pizza. We got a large, didn't have to wait long, and it only cost $15.00 including our tip. The room was nice, but it doesn't have a refrigerator. The bed were comfortable and we got a good night sleep. The breakfast in the morning was fine. I'm not crazy about the omelette, I've had them before at another Express. I did like how the breakfast room was divided into little sections, which were cozy. February 6, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Weekend Retreat I took my daughters there for a weekend away from everything. When I went to check in the front desk asked me "Why I was staying so long, there is nothing to do in this town." I wasn't sure what to think of this. I have stayed at many hotels and have never had this happen. I thought the room was over priced for what you get. I also noticed black spots on the ceiling over the shower in the paint. The last disappointment was the pool. This was part of the reason I chose this motel. For being an indoor pool it was very cold. No matter how much you moved around you couldn't warm up. It was that way all three nights that we were there. I would recommend the town but not the motel. February 5, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn Not Impressive The desk clerk acted like he had just got out of bed. He did not ask if we were reward cardholders. Did not tell us what type of rooms were available. They had a sign at the counter saying if no one was there to call "0:". Everytime we passed the front office there was no one there. Also, the breakfast was good, however, was not hot. The room was nice but outdated. We could definitely see the difference between this hotel and the hotel that we stayed at in Festus, MO. That was a newer hotel and the front desk person was fantastic. We love staying at Holiday Inns and Holiday Inn Express but if we come back to Hannibal, MO we probably would not stay at this hotel. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Low Rating We were told on the phone that this hotel was 4 years old. Very poor condition. The bed was fair as for comfort. The room was not clean, carpet was very dirty and dusty everywhere. The bed skirt was probably new right out of the package which was very wrinkled and messy. The TV was the smallest that we have ever had at a Holiday Inn Express. Overall, we will never stay there again nor recommend this Holiday Inn Express. By the way we always stay at Holiday Inn Express and are Priority club members. All others are much more superior to this one. December 29, 2013

Also he was able to help out with our pizza delivery. I am sorry I do not remember his name. He does a great job of making your guests feel welcomed. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Average Stay for rewards night Last minute trip to Hannibal to see my oldest son who's attending college in Hannibal. Called the hotel to check if they had a room upgrade for a Platinum member. The gentleman on the phone was very nice and said to book whatever the online site was giving me (smoking room) and he would make sure I got a non-smoking room. I got there and was sort of cross-graded to a first floor king non-smoking room. The room was decent, but the floors seemed to be damp from humidity or condensation. A good stay overall though. The amenities were up-to-par with IHG standards. The one problem I have to mention, I accidentally left my iphone wall charger plugged in the wall when we left the next morning. I got back home, which is over 3 hrs away. I called my son to see if he could go back over there and get it for me. He went over and they said that they didn't find it and they let him go to the room to look. He called me and told me what they said and that he didn't find it. I relooked over all my stuff I brought into the room. The charger wasn't there. I called the hotel myself, the lady that answered after 37 rings was nice about it, but said that the housekeeping person said they didn't see one there. I left my number for them to call me back on it if it happened to have gotten put into the bed linens when the housekeeper changed the sheets. The charger was plugged into the wall next to the bed. I wouldn't have mentioned it, because the chargers are not that much money, but they just seemed adamant that they didn't have it at all. Can't rate the hotel as high as I usually do. Sorry. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed, clean, I realize there are smokers in the world that can't seem to kick the habit, but do they (the hotel managers and personnel) have to be doing it just outside the entrance of your lobby each time we arrive or leave? We hold our breath as we walk through. Personnel was friendly and knowledgeable. Rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable, but the neighboring room (that was actually vacant) left a 5 a.m. radio alarm set. Rather than relaxing on a Sunday morning before we completed the second half of our 12 hour drive back home, we were awake, annoyed, and out the door as there was no sleeping with the music blasting through the wall. At that point, we weren't in the mood for a hotel breakfast, or the smoking exit, so we held our breath again, loaded the car and made a quick getaway! I'm sure we'll be back, as it is a convenient 1/2 way point for our trips to see family, and we are faithful Holiday Inn customers, but we are hopeful not to repeat this experience ever again. I told them about the water dripping in the bath tub all night, and that my husband killed a SPIDER on the ceiling. We got $20.00 off of our bill! We won't be staying again. No referrals! On a hot day after a long drive, this gesture was so appreciated. While the halls and elevator seem small and cramped, the hospitality of the staff makes up for those inconveniences. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by dirty room The staff was very nice and breakfast was good. The room was dirty. The carpet had very bad stains and smelled. The bed was really hard and stains on the sheets. I have stayed at many Holiday Inn express properties and never seen one in this shape. September 11, 2013
