Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Poor Stay Booked for three nights, but left on the third night after sleeping for 2 uncomfortable nights, to drive 300 miles to sleep in my own bed as we could not stand having another sleepless night, The undersheet/mattress cover did not fit the bed and kept bunching up ad the pillows were like limp foam with no support, also the breakfast when stocked up the eggs and sausages were luke warm. Have stayed at this facility several times in the past worst of any hotel I have ever stayed in and I stay in a lot Upon leaving the receptionist informed us that she was sorry to hear that the room was so uncomfortable. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Cold Shower... How in the world a hotel fails to accommodate their guests is beyond me. I understand maintenance issues occur, but when the management informs guests that the hot water was going to be turned off, then turned back on at 5:00 p.m., you expect this to happen. When the problem is not rectified, and every guest is subjected to cold showers and water to wash their hands, not only for the entire evening but during the next day as well, this is unacceptable. They should have comp'd every room, or at least given every guest a voucher for another stay on the house. Poor business practice. I will not be staying at a Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express again. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome breakfast, friendly and accommodating front desk, lazy housekeepers There are so many positives at this Holiday Inn, it definitely beats the Troy location because Highland is quiet and it's patrons are generally business people, retirees and families - not bachelor parties or other loud party people. They gave my kids each a helium filled balloon when we checked in. All rewards card members generally get one, but the staff saw that I had three kids and gave each one a balloon - which they LOVED. The desk staff delivered a fax to my room and saw that I had three kids there (for a prolonged stay while we awaited the close of escrow on our house). She immediately said, "You need a microwave in here! I'm going to find you one" and when I returned from picking the kids up from school a microwave was in my room. Hurray for Easy Mac'n Cheese! The breakfast offered is absolutely outstanding. I wish I knew which brand sausage they use because I'm not normally a sausage person, but that sausage was delicious. They offer a huge selection of protein - meats, omelets, yogurt, hard boiled eggs as well as a wide variety of carbs - muffins, pancakes, bagels, hot cereal, cold cereal, toast, english muffins and a selection of fresh fruit - bananas, apples and tangerines. The only down side in this location lies with the housekeeping staff. They will change your towels daily, but they won't give you fresh sheets daily. I'm assuming it's their policy to keep one set of sheets per guest regardless of how long you stay because our sheets were never changed in the 8 days we were there - I know because one of my kids put a dirty baby footprint on a pillow case and if they ate crackers while sitting on the bed and watching tv I was going to have to get all of the crumbs out myself. The housekeepers also skipped my room entirely three days out of my 8 days and I purposely did not put the privacy sign on my door because I had poopy diapers in my trash can. I ended up taking my own trash to the lobby and putting in new towels and trash bags that I obtained from the desk staff. If I had to do it all over again I'd definitely stay there because the beds and pillows are extremely comfortable, the rooms are a great size, the pool is nice and really that breakfast is amazing, but I would definitely narc. on the housekeepers sooner. I like them as people, but they seriously did not do their jobs. September 13, 2014
