Will never return nor will I recommend

This hotel isn't bad by any means. But it isn't great either. It could use a bit of attention to details. For example, when I checked in the person working the front desk did not acknowledge customer status like other IHG Hotels have in the past.
Upon entering room, I noticed a stain on the cushion of the chair in my room. Flipped it over and saw a larger stain underneath. I had to unplug and replug my TV to get it to work. While initially clean, my Ice bucket was not dumped out and coffee maker was not cleaned by housekeeping during the duration of my stay.
I enjoyed the breakfast - biscuits and gravy are one of my favorites! They had apparently run out of pancake mix though.
The room decor was modern and looked well maintained.

The staff here is very well trained, polite, accomodating and efficient. Unfortunately, the property falls well below that same standard. The room I had was consumed with a musty odor. The furniture was old and very outdated....no closet, just a free-standing cabinet at the end of the room. The bathroom had no counter space. There was no microwave or refrigerator in the room. The AC unit had no wall-mounted T-stat and was the model used 20 years ago in motels. There were not any addtional wall outlets for all of today's electronic devices. I will say this, my room was always clean and, once again, a GREAT staff of people. However, with ALL the competition today recognizing and implementing the trend to contemporary design, electronic requirements and personal amenities, this property currently falls well short of what the other brands are offering.

Worked hard and fast to please us. When we called they came within a few minutes to fix the problem. They did not need to be called more than once for the same problem.

I was not real impressed with the stay. The room was rather small. Bathroom is small with no counter space. The breakfast selection was not great. The staff was extremely nice. The exercise room only had one working treadmill. The people preparing the breakfast food set off the smoke alarm in the hotel and it woke me and my family at 6:40am, then it went off again about 20-30 minutes later with the fire department showing up. The pool area ran out of towels.

there was a loud a/c unit in my room that kept me awake most nights. There was a loose fan or something. It was not the compressor noise, I am familiar with that sound and it is okay to deal with. Even when the compressor was off, there was an annoying ticking noise. I mentioned it and someone came up and looked at it but it did not get fixed and I was there 4 nights. the TV would not power on one night and they couldn't get my room key to work the last night I was there. The staff were great and seemed to know what they were doing. But the building needs some TLC.

Inappropriately overcharged for a late check in (after 1 am) and checked out by 6 am. It was just a place to stay to sleep since I could not get home due to severe storms. Room smelled musty.

I stayed at this property the Friday night/early Saturday before the Indianapolis 500. It was a good, clean property with easy access to Interstate. I was pleased with my check-in and the staff (agent) was nice and personable. My room was clean and I did feel secure.
I left Saturday morning refreshed and ready to travel back home. I did enjoy the property and I will try to stay at the property upon other visits to the area.

When staying the day of the Indy 500, you know everyone is busy and this staff handled it. Great afternoon/night staff. Awesome recommendations for dinner. Very, very busy at breakfast but food was kept flowing and tasted good. We will be back.

This is one of the good ones. I stay in 20-30 hotels every year, and I depend on the consistency of the Holiday Inn Express chain about half the time. Usually very clean and quiet, with helpful staff. This is one of the very good ones and I recommend a stay here to any traveler. Easy on and off the highway, too, for good measure.

I have been staying at this hotel for going on four years and never had a bad experience, but this was uniquely bad. I was not greeted by the person checking me in, not recognized as a Platinum member of IHG which I never thought about until this time I was not but more importantly she did not tell me about that evening's reception. Not a huge deal, will stay there again, but this was the first negative experience I had at an otherwise excellent hotel.

Only complaints (not really complaints) were the breakfast worker needs help to keep the food rolling out (hotel was full this weekend) and the water pressure was a little lower than I am used to.
Front desk staff was helpful on recommending dinner spots.
Hotel is about 14 miles from indiana Convention center.

Over the last seven weeks I had stayed there 2 or more days each week and had just completed a 9 night stay through 3/27. Had always been in a king standard. This stay was 2 doubles on the 4th floor, the heater would not go above 74 and the cigarette smoke was terrible from

I always stay in a King room and always stay in IHG hotels to support them and earn credit toward my elite status as a traveler and person who stays at these hotels. While checking in at this hotel it seemed as if I was a bother to the staff and not someone recognized as an IHG platinum member and a loyal person to their hotel group. Further, when I came down to the desk later on my first night to enquire about someplace to eat, again the staff seemed reluctant to help and gave me the feeling that I was bothering them.
Upgrades on rooms are another reason why I stay with this hotel group. When I only stay in KING rooms, the upgrade is whatever the next higher room is. Do not tell me that I am In a King and that is the upgrade. King is the upgrade if you are staying in a queen/full/double room, but not a King. The night prior to staying in this hotel, I stayed in Lexington KY, where my room was upgraded above a standard King -- knowing I only stay in King rooms -- to the next higher room. When I enquired about an issue, I was moved into an even better room because of my status and loyalty to the IHG Hotel group and frequency that I stay with these hotels.
The facilities were good. The road into and out of the hotel needs a lot of work. I had to swerve around large potholes to reduce the potential of damage to my car.

Well I brought a group of 15 families and when I booked them I was told I got a comp room, when I checked out I was told I didn't, I am not very happy at all. I would of never stayed there, I already had rooms else where and decided to stay there because the sports zone recommended we start at the holiday inn express, so I did, because they offered me a free room, but now I don't get it, very mad about it, I travel with this team and our other 5 teams all spring and summer long and have never had this happen to me, I think it's just WRONG!!!! If it don't get fixed I will never stay at one again and make sure all my softball teams don't either..thank you

We stayed 2 nights. We were away most of the day between nights and when we arrived back to room we noticed room was not cleaned and no new bath towels. We went to the front desk and ask if they could have our room cleaned because they must have accidentally missed our room. Front desk mgr said no we cannot clean it and that was that. I was hoping for a better answer but very disappointed to no resolve. Hotel was nice but service was unacceptable.

I loved this hotel! When I arrived it was during some horrible winter weather so a lot of customers were stranded at the hotel. I saw the staff go above and beyond multiple times to make life better for those that wanted to leave, but couldn't due to the roads.

Because of the extreme cold weather, snow and blowing winds we were stranded in Indianapols for several days with road closures.
The staff was fantastic making our stay comfortable. We really appreciated the extra effort they all went to for us.

I'm a recent convert from another hotel chain, and the more I stay with Holiday Inn Express, the more I appreciate the difference.
Consistency across different locations is excellent, and they do a great job of providing just what is needed for a comfy stay without unnecessary fluff or gimmicks.
Super Comfy beds with choice of hard or soft pillows is a stand out. Staff were friendly and the welcome kit with bottled water and snacks is very nice (specially when its winter and the heat dries the air out).

I will start by saying that your rooms were very clean and very comfortable. Had a nice aroma when we entered. That is good on Holiday Inn for accomplishing that.
However the staff had something to be desired.
I do not think any of them looked up at me when i was talking to them. Very impersonal and cold. Almost like the front desk had better things to do.
When asked if there is a good place to eat around the hotel it was like pulling teeth. I mentioned that I would be willing to take a cab somewhere relatively close and they said there was nothing.
Saying the restaurant across the lot had mixed reviews is very concerning. As customer service you cannot give ONE option and tell me that is may not be good.
At one point I was in the lobby waiting for a business partner and approached the front desk personal and tried to engage in a "how are you today? How about this weather" conversation....and once again I was treated in a disrespectful manner.
I did also have to ask them to call for a cab 4 times to my appointment that i travelled over 1,000 miles to get to. I was late to my 8:30 appointment - not acceptable. I asked if there was more than one taxi cab company in Indianapolis that they can call...but were very confused.
One more thing...your lobby was uncomfortably hot.
