Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Best customer service - ideal location for JFK. Had a 3 night break to go to US Open Tennis and a day sight seeing. Have to say the service was most exceptional in my experience for a large chain hotel group. Clarissa on the reception could not have done more for us and even coming down to a self service breakfast the catering staff were welcoming and very speedy at keeping all the tables clear. If you were to spruce up the bathrooms, that would tick the final box for me. Towels and toiletries excellent just looking very tired. Clean but tired! Well done - must also mention the transfer bus staff too. They doing a great job. It is a very good service. Great stay Thanks a lot. September 16, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Great Hotel At first, I was a bit confused about which hotel to use (i.e. those bad reviews I read). But I took a chance on booking at this hotel and I must say it was a splendid experience. The staff was welcoming, helpful and forthcoming with information. There is no dinner, so we had to order in. The room was well made, and clean, there was a television with nice channels with movies. Our room had a coffee maker, which we loved, since we could make ourselves coffee when we wanted to. I think that the breakfast buffet was the best part as it was divine with a wide array of choices. I loved the breakfast buffet. The shuttle was on time to take us to the airport. My only wish is that I wanted to spend longer than one night. But there will always be a next time. September 9, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Extreme hospitality. This was my 2nd time staying at Holiday Inn Express Kennedy Airport. The 1st was attending orientation at St. John's University. The latter was dropping my only son off at St. John's University. To write, I was not in the best frame of mind at the latter occasion. :) The staff was extremely hospitable and accommodating with both my early arrival and late checkout. The room was immaculate and very cozy. The complimentary breakfast was delicious as well. Thank you for such a pleasant stay at one of my most vulnerable times. September 9, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Recent 2 Night Stay My husband and I had an immediate family funeral to attend in Rockaway. We live in Delaware and had to find accommodations nearby and chose the Holiday Inn Express at JFK airport. We've always had good success with our stays at the Holiday Inn Express elsewhere. The front desk staff upon arrival on Tues. 9/3/2013 couldn't have been more accommodating, especially when they found out the reason for our stay. We arrived around 2:30 p.m. well before the official check-in time of 4 p.m. and they had a room available for us, please don't hesitate to ask. The girl (sorry I didn't get her name) behind the desk kept asking us throughout our check-in process if there was anything they could do for us. When I had called down to get a refrigerator for our room it was there in the room upon our return after the wake that evening. When that same girl saw us the next day she asked if we would like a later check-out time for our departure the following morning and asked how we were doing since we had just returned from the funeral. With so many people in the hotel it was a breath of fresh air to have someone who remembered who you were and the reason for your stay. When and if I have to return to NY I would definitely stay at that hotel. Thank you for making a difficult time a little more bearable. Janet & Denis September 8, 2013

The room was clean and nicely furnished. The bed was huge and very comfortable. Breakfast was adequate and the free shuttle back to the airport was much appreciated. September 3, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding front desk, surprisingly quiet We stayed here while getting our daughter settled in to St John's University. The hotel is about 6 miles from campus. Even though it is right at JFK airport, the noise from planes or traffic was minimal. Traffic and parking was typical New York, but they made extra free parking available to us by sharing spaces with adjacent hotels. Tanesha and Taneeshia at the front desk were 5 STAR customer service receptionists quickly getting us settled. The room was smallish but very comfortable for 4. Breakfast was hot and had many choices, but very limited for those on wheat restricted diets. There is no work out room or pool at this hotel. The staff was extremely helpful with printed maps and driving directions around the area. We will stay here again. September 3, 2013

They catered to every question I had for the area. Dinner suggestions were fabulous. Amanda, Cindie, and Clarissa really made me feel at home for the week I was there. The hotel was finishing up a remodel, and the updates are looking good. If my travels bring me back to this area, I will definitely be staying again. I've stayed at a lot of hotels and this is one of the best staffs I have encountered. Hats off to the management for their selection of employees and the training to provide such great service. I would like to have had a fitness room, but this location mainly caters to overnighters instead of weekly travelers, so I understand why it wasn't there. September 2, 2013

As soon as you arrive to check-in they are full of the joys of spring and they really welcoming and sincere. This must be the best greeting that I have ever had from the ICH Group of hotels and this is only a HI Express!! The room I was allocated was spotless and comfy with all the usual amenities in the room and bathroom you would expect. My surprise came in the early hours of the morning when my electronic wake up call was answered and promptly woke me up then around approx 15mins later Paulette the early morning duty receptionist phoned me up with a courtesy wake up call. What an excellent idea!! All in all a pleasant stay and would definitely stay again at this professional establishment. They deserve an award too! September 1, 2013

This was last leg of our 2 week vacation on the east coast and received recommendations from the staff on where to visit with our family and how to navigate the transit system. My trip so far had been full of ups and downs i had lost my wallet with my drivers licence and credit cards.I arrived to the greeted with the biggest smile from the lady at the front desk Paulette,She Helped me as much as she could which i was very grateful,because my journey could have been worst. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A little pricey but I'd do it again. This was an overnight stay with my 2 teen sons as we traveled. I'm glad I made the reservation in advance as this was the 3rd hotel I called, all rooms were booked. We were able to check in a little early & received queen beds for the price of dbl. The warm oatmeal raisin cookies sealed the deal immediately, but only after we didn't have to wait on the shuttle at the airport. All service providers were very friendly, helpful & went above & beyond, including the 5 a.m. check to make sure I was awake after the 4:45 a.m. wake up call. After returning to the hotel at 3 a.m. from seeing NYC & needing to catch an early flight, this was VERY much appreciated! The breakfast was served early, it was free & it was very satisfying to my teens & myself. Again, the shuttle service back to JFK was timely & the driver was very helpful with all of our luggage, making sure we found a porter right away. The room was a little small, the hotel doesn't have a large storage space for overnight luggage & the room was pricey, but I'd probably reserve at this hotel again. August 16, 2013

And also, the shuttle of the hotel is very convenience. Here is what the hotel can improve: try to increase the number of parking lots, try to figure out why there is a chemical smell in the room. All was as advertised and we will stay there again when the times comes for another night near JFK! We also appreciated the late night menus and thoughts on what and where to order from at midnight! We felt welcomed from the first phone call to ask a question about the hotel through our checkout and shuttle experience. I was so pleased by this hotel that I would surely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay for a short term or a long term stay, The price is just a bit more than a few other places but with the quick and efficient shuttle service and the above average customer service I think it is well worth the extra cost.
