Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good value but uncomfortable beds I've stayed at quite a few Holiday Inn Express hotels and this is the first one that had uncomfortable beds. It was not a pillowtop like most of their other locations. The breakfast was normal, although I wish they'd start serving real eggs. The indoor/outdoor swimming pool looked neat, but I didn't get a change to swim. April 13, 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by It's just ok. This is more of a vacation hotel. It does need some updates to the rooms I have stayed in. It's very large and has meeting rooms and a pretty nice business center. Although a lot of family's do stay here as a vacation spot. I couldn't ask for a better staff and they were always very friendly and helpful. I did have a problem with the air conditioning but maintenance came right away and worked on it. The entrance to this hotel is very nice but my room was somewhat old and dated. Had a little bit of a bad odor. Housekeeping did a pretty good job everyday but my sheets on the bed were pretty old. Nothing that housekeeping can control. April 9, 2015

Family and I were taking a flight by next morning. It was incredible easy to book it, I did it 5 hours in advance of my arrival and there was no blackout period or any issue at all... This is great! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by unacceptable treatment from hotel lobby staff and missing appliances I am very dissapointed of this location first because the way I do reservations is through our company travel system, so how in the world the person at the lobby deny my wife to access the room even when she show the room confirmation and an ID of mine ?? my wife came first to the hotel to wait for me as I was delayed from a business trip, that as you may see I came from another Holiday Inn. Because of that she had to wait about 4 hours driving around with my daughter until I arrive to McAllen near midnight. Why ?!?!?! This is not the first time I do this and now she was upset as well as my daughter and obviously I was the same once she told me what just happened. And the next day, found that there was not a microwave on my room and no one was able to explain why or get a replacement for me. Then I went to the breakfast area and to my surprise there was not a microwave there too !!! and one of the hotel personnel was sooo kind to help me with my oatmeal ..... this is definitely not good and not acceptable. Specially when I came from a week stay on another HI where the experience was completely different in the good way. March 27, 2015
