Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Customer Service This hotel has very poor customer service, which I mostly blame on my experience with the manager, Debora Neath. She is slow to respond, and even when she does, you can't trust that she has done what you asked. For example, I emailed to ask if we could hold 2 rooms in our block and then charge these 2 guests upon check-in. She said yes, but then our card was charged anyway. When asked to reverse the charges and get payment from the guests who should have been charged, she said there was nothing she could do. In my line of work, I've worked closely with many hotel managers and event consultants over the years and rarely come across managers and owners who are so rude, lazy, and unaccommodating. If you're planning an event at the LaMalfa Centre, you should think twice before booking a room block with this hotel. At our last event, they overbooked the hotel, moved our 19 year old music technician, who has probably never stayed in a hotel on his own, to the bridal suite penthouse, unbeknownst to us, and then charged a large amount for his late checkout. Normally, this would have been a much smaller charge for the type of room he was SUPPOSED to be in, which I would have been fine with. After all, it was his mistake for checking out late. This is where the laziness comes in... instead of trying everything possible to accommodate the bride & groom with the bridal suite they deserved and probably booked a year ago by a quick phone call to me or walking 20 steps to the room our event was in, they charged us a hefty fee and moved the bride and groom to a regular room. It's a shame we had such a bad experience with this hotel, especially because we have been customers in the past and had planned on returning for future events. June 19, 2015

The only thing I found was that the last guest was smoking..there was a 'no smoking sign' in the room.The smell hit me as soon as I opened the door. The standard fare breakfast seemed way better and fresher than any other HIE breakfast and it was consistent over several days, not just a one time occurrence. Maria in the breakfast area is probably this facility's greatest asset with her constant smile and just the right amount of conversation. June 16, 2015

Front desk was accommodating when I wanted to stay an extra night and the hotel was overbooked. I quickly got a call to extend after a cancellation was received. What kind of fake cheese is in those breakfast omelets? Yuck. June 13, 2015
