Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Little run-down; unprofessional staff I've stayed at a lot of IHG properties (mainly HIE's) and this one is not at the top of my list. The parking lot was very small/tight. The rooms had a very musty smell to them. Their furniture was obviously second-rate. Like most hotels have additional plug-ins at the base of their lamps; these didn't. Aside from that, their staff was not exactly efficient and neither were they professional. It took me about 10 minutes to check in and no one else was even in the lobby. One lady was on the phone with a guy who wanted to make a reservation and although the lady wasn't rude to me, she continued to just stay on the phone. A second lady walked in and was in no rush to help me check in. In fact, we hadda wait for the computer to be turned on. Yes, the computer was not turned on and it was in the middle of the day. Then the 1st lady got off the phone and helped her checked me in. There was checking slips of paper to make sure rooms were cleaned (this was after check-in time, mind you) and then there was conversation going on between the difference in responsibilities of one shift and the next between the two ladies. The 2nd lady had stains/winkles on her shirt and was not wearing her sash (as pointed out by the first lady). I just wanted to check-in and be done. I didn't need the extra side show. They weren't rude, but they weren't professional. Later that night I noticed two hotel employees were smoking outside and didn't help a customer in the lobby until after it was pointed out to them. At least one of the individuals smoking was supposed to be working the front desk. I think they could do better at training their employees and express the importance of appearance. They should also give a good clean down of the rooms to get rid of that musty smell. October 21, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Just "ok" I usually like Holiday Inn Express but this one was a little rough for us. I think it was, mostly, because of the room location #room 107#. It was across from an ice machine that leaked water all night like a nice little babbling stream. It was also across from the breakfast area in the lobby and two drunk guys yelling a conversation kept us up most of the night until I walked out into the hall in my pajamas and asked them to be quiet. I kept hoping the front desk would say something to them since they were within eye and ear shot of them. The room was run down, as well, for a Holiday Inn. The door handle was loose in the bathroom, which was kind of janky. All and all not the best experience. October 18, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Getting old The pop/water vending machine was inop for several days - we did not see it work. There was no pop or water in the rooms and only one pop/water vending machine. If you complained, the front desk gave you one water. Wasn't quite what I expected for a H.I. Express at over a hundred per night. Rooms are getting old and out dated. There was only two available plugs in the room for our use. We had to unplug the alarm clock and the microwave in order to plug in what we needed. First night, when we checked in, we got the last parking spot at the Holiday Inn. I suspect some guests had to park elsewhere. Bed had only sheet and a heavy comforter. It was impossible to sleep without sweating or freezing. I think they forgot to change the blankets after winter. August 20, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by able to relax Due to the extreme loud guest in and out of the room next to us we werre not able to relax. We had to report the disturbance twice and my wife call the genral manger due to the phone was not working in the room. I think more agressive action is required when there are unruley guest in the hotel and should be asked to leave and should be a regulation no parties and limit the number of outside guest that should be allowed to visit. We had originally intended to only stay for one night but ended up staying for two! the rooms were nice and clean, staff was very nice, and the breakfast bar was very nice. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Reasonable Place to Stay The first room we got was right next to the pool and in front of the vending machines. The noise level was a bit high. We went back to the front desk and asked to be moved. Albeit the front desk staff was a bit lukewarm about our request, we eventually got another room on the second floor. When we first arrived, the room was tidy and clean, bathroom can use a tiny bit more work but acceptable. Internet service was free as advertised, but extremely slow to the point of almost moot. I ended up using my own hot spot. The in-room fridge was very helpful for water and other snack or fruit. The daily housekeeping service was well done. Breakfast was available and food choices were typical of similar hotels. Overall not a bad place to stay. Be sure to check out Jungle Jim nearby in Fairfield! July 23, 2013

The location between a tire store and an armed forces recruiting center is pretty suboptimal and parking is limited. The furniture in the lobby looked shabby as did the room. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by review of my stay As a priority club member, I have stayed at many Holiday Inn Express hotels. There were a few things that stood out at this location. The HBO was not working when I arrived at the room. The following day the problem was taken care of. The sheets on the bed were stained when I arrived in my room. This did get taken care of but was very disturbing to discover at first. The room also had a bad odor. It was a musky smell that kind of smelled like body odor, and it was not pleasant. Even with the air conditioner running, the smell stayed in the room for my entire stay. Overall, I was a little bit dissapointed with this Holiday Inn Express, but I will continue to use this chain and this was the only one I have ever had a negative experience with. June 7, 2013

The room we had did NOT have a mini-fridge and microwave that others in this same price range do. If you don't care about the pool, there are other hotels in this area that are cheaper (and quieter due to kids not running to the pool :) Would recommend it if this is what you're looking for, but shop and compare as with anything. Non Smoking room with cigarette burns around the sink, flooring sounded like there was some wood planks under the carpet. But, I even asked weeks in advance when I booked my reservation and they still tell me they dont have any available! This is the third time this has happened at this hotel! Anyway, I am not going back until this hotel goes through a remodel. As an Elite platinum member maybe I expect more from Holiday Inn, but so be it. April 21, 2013

The hotel staff that weekend, especially the wonderful front desk woman (Her name was Aliyana I believe). They were extremely patient with a bunch of 11 and 12 year old girls in the halls. In turn, I noticed less kids in the halls and kids in their rooms at a decent time. They were always polite and definitely friendly to the kids. This goes a long way in my book and even if everything isn't perfect, I would stay here again just for the sake of the wonderful customer service. The young lady mentioned above (sorry if I botched your name as this was a couple of weeks ago) seemed to truly enjoy her job and always wished my daughter "good luck" when she left the hotel for a game!!! The front desk was very accommodating by putting us close to each other. They made every effort to make our stay a pleasant experience. I would definitely stay here again.
