Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff and great place As soon as I walked in and checked in. I was upgraded to a 2 bedroom (originally had 1 room with 2 beds). The room was clean and comfortable. The location was great. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would do so again if I'm in Montreal. July 14, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn Express Montreal Centre-Ville Overall - poor. The air conditioner emitted a variable high pitch noise and was impossible to remedy. I had to turn it off at night. The chief of maintenance, who personally came to troubleshoot the problem, said it could not be fixed. The toilet seat was off its hinges. The kitchen faucet set was not properly secured. The coffee pot did not work and had to be replaced. The staff of this hotel do not understand how to pay attention to details. This hotel is definitely not a good value. July 14, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Old and Tired This hotel benefits from having a good location - near Old Montreal and easy walking distance to the village. It's actually a converted apartment building, so there was a full kitchen in my suite. All cupboards intact, but empty. Very dated furniture which was much to big for the room, made navigation difficult. Small balcony was a bonus. July 13, 2014

Very convenient & affordable transit from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel back to the airport, $10 each way - no need to rent a car or to get around by taxis. Accommodating staff, clean room with separate kitchen, living room and bedroom. Not the cheapest place to stay, but given its location, a lot was saved on travel as everywhere we wanted to go, we could simply walk. July 9, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet Stay, Great Front Desk, and Free Wifi This was the highlight stay of our visit to Montreal. I wasn't sure if it would be ok, because I knew it wasn't in the center of downtown, but it ended up being GREAT! The hotel offers free wifi which was exactly what we needed to make plans and check email. The front desk was AWESOMELY helpful about where to go and how to get there on public transportation, and the room was clean and quiet. The only objection I have is that the beds were hard and pillows were second-rate. But I would stay there again! It was WAY WAY better than our other 2 nights in a top-line hotel four blocks away where wifi was $20/day and we had to wait 30 minutes just to get in a packed elevator to our room! July 8, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible experience Upon checking in we went to our room to experience television problems. We called the desk who sent up a maintenance worker. Immediately he said the remote in our room was incorrect. The problem was never corrected. The next morning was the Wimbledon final and our family is very much into tennis. Again we called the service desk and they sent a maintenance worker who said the remote was inadequate and that he would correct the problem. After we went down to find out that the problem wasn't really fixable we were asked to go to the conference room to watch the tennis match that was all but over. We were told that a new Television would be installed, that never happened. Very disappointed in our stay. Your promotional material says televisions in the room - they don't work. Maintence staff - cant fix the problem and desk staff who mislead us into thinking the problem will remedied but never was. July 8, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location, Nice Hotel We stayed here on a busy jazz festival weekend. The underground parking was convenient, with an elevator direct to the room floor. The room is large and has a kitchen (no stove-top though). The separate sitting and sleeping areas work great when not everyone wants the lights out at the same time. The staff was friendly. The Saturday morning breakfast was a little chaotic, so get down early, if you can. July 7, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Just a few recommendations for improvement 1. Breakfast is terrible. In a city like Montreal surround by wonderful bakeries, the selection was awful as was the coffee. We went out the second and third days. 2. The fitness room was way too hot and the AC could not be adjusted. 4. It would be nice to have a list of recommended restaurants that guests could consult. Asked at the desk but they just recommended going to St Denis street, which was not great. Otherwise room and location are excellent July 3, 2014

I loved the location of the hotel, walking distance to many attractions, easy access to public transportation, the express bus to the airport has a stop one block from the hotel. The furniture might be a little dated, but the suites are large and comfortable. Breakfast is OK, typical american breakfast, I wish they had more of the french touch, like bagguetes or croissants. The staff was very friendly. The only thing I did not like was the lack of a shower curtains in the bathroom, which can create a bit of a mess. (I'm not sure that is typical of all rooms in the hotel, or just some rooms.) June 29, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and extras, but a bit shabby This hotel offers spacious rooms (great for families) and the downtown location is wonderful - near old Montreal, Chinatown, Quartier des Spectacles. But the quality of rooms varies a lot - ours had a noisy toilet and badly working a/c., and we were unable to switch or upgrade. On the positive side, the staff is friendly and helpful and the free breakfast is ample and varied. We might stay here again but will inspect our room thoroughly first. June 22, 2014

Not only it is served in plastic plates with plastic cutlery, there is neither vegetarian option not any vegetables or salads available. Beds were not level, both mattresses in my room were pitted and very uncomfortable, red stains on carpet (??), bad smell in the room... Holiday inn needs to do better here. June 17, 2014

It was F1 Grand Prix weekend, therefore price was way high, too high Air conditioning was noisy and rooms need some freshening up, bathroom looks old staff is excellent even when very busy.
