Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Only for the older people I'm in my 50's and did not feel welcome I checked in did not even feel welcome because I have a 14 year old daughter. The man that checked me in did not provide any information to me. He didn't even provide breakfast information to my family, did not ask me to check my room but after coming back down stairs I heard him ask ever older couple to go check their room to see if it was OK . Also heard him talk about all kinds of things they do later in the year, ie. BBQ's but never provided information to me and my family. March 28, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Smokers The hotel stay was great. Good service and the room was clean. The only recommendation to the hotel is to put the smoker's area away from the front entrance. When we arrived the hotel, there were about 6-7 smokers hanging out the front. Not only it smelled bad but also did not help the image of the hotel to have people hanging out the heavy traffic area. From the front desk to the maids and the MORNING MOM COOK .....so so so friendly !!! TRUELY a HOME anyway from HOME!! Believe me... Jim-Tracy-Carol-Tony-MaMa the Cook and EVERYONE ELSE will take VERY GOOD CARE OF YOU!!!!! Just tell them KAT sent you lol !!!! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place to stay Just stayed here weekend of 2-7 and 2-8. I had placed the reservation and had asked for 2 double beds and requested 1st floor. The 2 double beds wasn't that big of a deal but we like the 1st floor. Upon arrival we discovered they did not have 2 double bed rooms on the 1st floor so they upgraded us a no extra charge to a 1st floor king room with a jacuzzi tub. Everyone there was extremely friendly, especially the lady in the breakfast area in the morning. It was only about a 15 minute ride to Broadway at the Beach where we went to see the shows and had it not been raining there were golf courses within mere minutes of the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel as this was not our first visit there nor will it be our last. Great place to stay. February 11, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by customer service and care Upon check in the room, a note was attached to the back of the door that said "pet in room!". It made me suspect that this might not be a room we wanted to stay in. I took the note to the front desk and ask what that was all about and he said that was to let the cleaning staff to do extra cleaning in the room. We left our cloths in the room and went on our way. When we returned to the room that night we noticed that there was pet poop on the floor. I gathered it up and went to the front desk to ask for a different room. The lady at the front desk said there was no pet in that room the night before. I said are you calling me a liar? I then explained to her my conservation with the front desk clerk upon checkin. I then said what do you call that stuff that you are looking at which I just got out of the room. Her customer service was as bad as one could find. To his credit the was a gentlemen that was in training that diffused the situation and listened to me and ultimately got us moved to a clean room. All your personnel handled the situation correctly except the lady working the 6:00 PM shift. December 29, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent value We stayed here last week when we went to Brookgreen Gardens' "Nights of a Thousand Candles," and thought it was one of the best HIEs we've ever stayed in, and for the least cost. We highly recommend this hotel. The staff was friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good, and the attendant extremely kind and efficient. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Dirty Sheets and no cable Very unhappy with the couple of days I stayed, me and my family was excited to come for a few days. After we had no cable for a few hours we complained and they told me to wiggle the wire. Needless to say, that did not work. I told a different person the next day and they said aww, im sorry. Next we were tired the first night so we didn't inspect the hotel room, the next day we woke up and saw stains on every sheet and pilowcase. I told the lady downstairs and she did nothing to resolve the issue. I then told her I would have to cancel the last day since we had so many issues unresolved. They didn't even offer a different room. So I will not be staying here again. We have came here every year for many years. Never again. December 17, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good, but in Need of Remodeling Recently stayed 6 nights at this property in 2 different rooms. Standard room was badly in need of updating from worn, dingy carpeting to shower head. The upgraded king room was very nice. Both rooms were large and very clean. The location was excellent for my needs to be nearby family. But, if you want near beach, there are better alternatives. The staff was good, especially Peggy at front desk who was wonderful. Also nice breakfast staff. Breakfast was fairly good. I did think the 30,000 points required to stay here is far too many for this older property. I find Holiday Inns, in general, to be inconsistent in quality. This could be a great property, if it were updated. November 11, 2013

Beginning with the front desk's warm greeting, efficiency, and excellent service to the housekeeping staff and breakfast staff's warm southern hospitality,we felt right at home! We were a large group of guests staying at this hotel for my daughter's wedding and every need we had was well taken care of..very accomodating!!I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to have a pleasant hotel experience! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Music For reason or reasons known only unto the rules maker, there is a requirement for music to be played outside from 10:00 AM to 10:00PM. IF we had a choice and the hotel staff had a choice we would all do away with that stupid requirement. The music makes the area sound like a 24 hour night club. The hotel front guest rooms are especially vulnerable to this noise. Pancake makers should be replaced with waffle machines. All of the pancake makers that we have used on our travels from coast to coast produce a poor product! October 17, 2013

Rooms and beds comfortable, quiet area, and the staff make the guests feel welcome and like family. The only downside is the indoor pool, it was very cold and needs some attention. September 22, 2013

No upgrade as priority club member even though listed on reservations. Told no king beds due to seasonal renovations BUT when I went online, there was one!! My grandkids were alittle disappointed that the pool was inside. Also one the rooms was supposed to have 2 double beds & a pullout couch & when we checked in it did not have the couch The staff said the motel was sold out but they found a room n different with a couch August 29, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Hotel for the Price I picked this hotel for being pet friendly. Hotel Manager is a wonderful person to deal with and the housekeeping staff are very nice. Only problem I had was I booked 2 rooms eight months ahead of time and on the day of arrival I did not get the rooms I had reserved. I would call ahead of time to double check to make sure the room is the one you want. Hotel manager took care of the problem the next morning. This hotel is roughly the same price as the other Holiday Inn's in the same area however if you are traveling with a pet this is the perfect location. Less then 10 mins from the beach and staff are friendly. August 19, 2013

Was provided substitute rooms which had water damage to the ceilings, beds were not clean - in fact, wondered if the sheets had even been washed, as they definitely had not been pressed, etc. Over-charged. General Manager was "smart alec-y" about our situation and said that we were lucky to have something in Myrtle Beach at this rate. August 15, 2013

It is by far the best hotel we have found for the money and location. All of the staff is freindly and helpful - especially the breakfast ladies. Rooms are clean and updated. The breakfast area makes for a great gathering area for our extended family when we want to stay in for pizza. August 13, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Weekend getaway for my wife and I This property was not the best. Kinda hard to find but once you got the hang of the area you realize that you are well situated. The staff were the best!! I did not get recognized as a platinum elite member, but that has happened at each and every HIX that I have stayed at so maybe that issue is systematic. This was the first time that I was disappointed with the breakfast bar. The little egg and cheese omelets were just bad. Two days in a row we had sour milk even after we complained about it. Cinnamon buns are good, but I would rather have eggs and bacon! The biscuits and gravy were meh. One of the reasons we choose HIX is because of the breakfast and we ended up not even going to the breakfast in the hotel after the second day and eating out in town. Please fix this issue!! Very quiet, prompt on the cleaning, and minus a few small issues overall we were satisfied. August 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent! Great staff, big room, super service! We had the pleasure of staying at the Murrell's Inlet Holiday Inn Express at the beginning of July 2013. We got a two-bedroom suite, which was roomy, quiet and comfortable. The beds were cozy and housekeeping was kind enough to give me my own comforter upon request. All the staff we encountered were nice, especially the breakfast staff. Those ladies deserve a raise, a trophy and a plaque with their picture on it!! Every morning they greeted us with friendliness and kindness--one even hugged me when I said it was our last day. The breakfast was decent--I have to say, I really like the selections and it's nice to get to know fellow hotel guests in the breakfast area. All in all, we had a great time. If you're looking for a quiet, family hotel away from the rowdy crowds, this is the place for you. The hotel has the added benefit of being very close to the Murrell's Inlet Marina, which offers a Pirate Cruise, Dophin Excursion and other activities for families. It's also close to Huntington Beach State Park. This is a lovely hotel--don't miss it! July 22, 2013
