Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Pets in the hotel rooms We were not happy that there were animals in several rooms. There was a dog barking at 10:30PM. Sounded like a LARGE dog. The were also 2 dogs in another room barking very early in the AM. My questions is are these designated pets rooms. Just like smoking rooms. I certainly don't want to sleep in a bed that the dogs have been sleeping in!! The pool was GREAT!!! Hot tub was way tooooo hot!! October 18, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good place to stop I'm glad we stopped at this Holiday Inn Express in Ottawa, IL. It was an easy off/easy on location in a nice, small city. The rooms there are comfortable and are pretty quiet. Breakfast is better than most. There is a Shakers Sports Bar across the street which serves delicious burgers and 30 beers on tap! The greatest asset is the employees. Very friendly and eager to make your stay enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again. We did have a small dog with us. The hotel policy prohibited us from leaving him in the room while we went to eat. Luckily it was cool outside so that was possible to do. October 10, 2013

We found the accomodations to be what we expect from a Holiday Inn easy check-in, comfortable room, satisfying breakfast, friendly staff. A++++ service and accommodations . September 29, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by BROKEN WHIRLPOOL I booked this room because my husband was on a long motorcycle trip and wanted him to relax after 1000 miles of riding in two days. He called me to meet him cause he didn't want to ride so tired. I booked online,which was very good and called the hotel to make sure the reservation was received,she said yes. We went to go in our room to clean up at 6pm,mind you I booked it at 4pm,and the room wasn't clean. Front desk was very nice,got it taken care of.Went to go back in our room after they cleaned it and the key didn't work . Needless to say our patientce is running thin. We got in the room,filled the whirlpool tub and the jets didn't work. GRRRRR the whirlpool is why I booked this room. September 6, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bed was comfortable and the Air Conditioner efficient Disappointed!! Room had only been cleaned in front of furniture. Barking dogs , dirty elevator finger print all over and debre on the floor. Poor water pressure in the shower, no klenex in the klenex holder. No room to sit for breakfast having to first pass around a dog and guest to get to breakfast. Poor selection of breakfast items compared to other Holiday Express Inns we have stayed in. Will be making several trips to Mn from Michigan and chose Ottawa because it's a convenient 1/2 point for us. Disappointed we won't be staying there again nor recommending it to others. Close to food (Cracker Barrel and Taco Bell) and Night Life (Shaker's) and Shopping. The breakfast in the morning is "just okay" I wish they had bacon :) August 22, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by average place The staff was excellent, very friendly. It had a very nice shower as far the pressure and type of shower head. I gave it an average score and wouldn't stay at this hotel again because our family is sensitive to smoke and we could tell that the hotel was older and has had smokers in it in the past. We woke up feeling congested. The carpet in our room was old and worn. There were some tears in it. August 22, 2013

I would like to be compensated for the fact that there was not internet service the evening I arrived (the staff told me it was in the process of being fixed)or the in the morning before I arrived. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Spent 2 nights here The room/linens/bathroom/vanity were clean...that was great. Plenty of pillows too! The staff was somewhat friendly. The breakfast was average. Like the fact that there was always coffee anytime of day, but the coffee was pretty weak. We used the pool area both nights, and the tables were not cleaned as there was orange pop stuck on the same table both nights. I had to remind the front desk clerk on 2 occasions that there were no towels in the pool area. First night was a little noisy in the hallway, but the second night was much better. August 2, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Smoking Staff Stayed in Room 202. No problem with anything in the room except the entrance, check-in area and the hallway leading up to the room and the room itself. The smokers outside at the picnic table were so close that the smoke filtered back in the door and into the fan which filled the air of Room 202 so much that I almost checked back out because I assumed the whole hotel smelled that way. Went to dinner with a colleague and upon returning and realizing that no further smokers were at the table, I noticed a drop in the odor and just accepted the slight smell that lingered in the room. I will probably not stay at this facility again. July 28, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Issue with wi-fi I want to like this property as I'm a fan of Priority Club but unless this property gets a stronger, consistent Wi-Fi signal, I will have to stay elsewhere. The property is what you would expect and the beds are comfortable. But I'm here for business and depend on a decent wireless signal. I could not get one so both my laptop and cell phone flickered in and out of coverage. This must be fixed or you'll lose road warriors like me that depend on this. A free service means nothing if it doesn't work. April 22, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff, not so great facility I stay at this facility every couple of months or so. The staff at this property is really great. They are very polite and friendly. The facility is another story though. It would be really fantastic if the room doors didn't slam shut. This kept me awake or woken me more times than I can count. While the facade looks nice and new, it's really just lipstick on a pig. The rooms themselves are just ok, they don't live up to what the facade appears to promise. Honestly, I would really just love it if the doors didn't slam. That would go along way to improving the stay. January 2, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dissatisfied Priority Member I am a Priority Gold Member. I reserved a King Executive Suite and when I arrived at the hotel, they had given my room away to some one else. I travel approximately 4 days a week and Reserve my rooms intentionally. I was upset greatly that their only solution was to give me an additional 3000 award points. In no way does that help me accomplish the work I needed to that night or get me the room I reserved that night. How about this. In the future, keep reservations for the person who made them. There was a nice variety of cereal, fruit, yogurt, and pastries. Trays were available so I could easily carry breakfast to our room to enjoy, although the dining area was fairly spacious and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. November 17, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Unwanted Visitors During check in, another guest came to the front desk to report having a mouse trapped on their dresser. I saw no mice in my room, but thought it unclean. Upon return to the room one night, I found a container of dental floss on the TV stand / dresser. I am ont sure if the cleaning staff brought their own or took it from my toiletry kit.
