I think it is over priced as compared to other Holiday Inns I have stayedThe in room coffee pot was not near a 120 volt outlet. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible - Barely Adequate for 1 Night This needs to be closed and torn down. It was obviously a convert from another brand of hotel and not up to the HI Express standard. Check in was the first sign I should have gone somewhere else. Could not be found by my name and the check in personnel were using paper lists and not the computer to check. She gave me someone else's room - because I matched that person's profile for being a tax exempt stay - saying perhaps they recorded the name wrong -- the reservation was made on the internet and my admin assistant knows how to correctly spell my name. Creaky old elevator - prayed it would not break down and leave me trapped. Room doors in the hallways constantly slammed. Poor security lighting in the parking lot. Room smelled of smoke even in a "non smoking" room. HVAC system was really old and cranky to start. Bath sink is in the room. Tiny sized tub and toilet room. Regular bulb in shower was out - only the heat lamp worked - making it an extremely hot experience to be in the room longer than a few minutes. Nightstand lamp had one broken socket. Minimal accessible AC outlets in room - bring a power strip! Friends of the workers hanging out in the lobby and using the "business center" consisting of 1 computer in the lobby while the staff was blasting music from the office. Breakfast area too small. Just overall disappointing and probably the worst HIE I have ever stayed in on my business travels. October 18, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly Staff Made our reservation in advance due to late arrival. Greeted by a friendly staff member who attended our needs quickly and efficiently. Property was clean and tidy. Breakfast was up to HIE expectations. Would stay here again. October 7, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Property Maintenance Artificial scent masking something, perhaps smoking or other issue ... Gives hotel a cheaper quality and not as clean a 'feel' as I would expect from this hotel chain. Deferred maintence such as calcium crusted shower head and slow draining tub (several holiday inn express locations had these issues) was a bit annoying. Moderately worn (needs to be stretched) and stained carpeting in room and halls in addition to odor/artificial scent smell in hall and room gave me the feeling I may have checked into lower end hotel chain and not a Holiday Inn Express ... But Salida, Colorado has few hotel choices for me so I am glad this Holiday Inn Express hotel was available. This hotel, in spite of my comments, would still be considered a 'higher end hotel' in the area and I plan to stay there again. Complements to the staff ... All the Staff was consistently friendly and helpful. October 7, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly Staff The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Their was an old towel from the last person to stay in my room in the bathroom behind the door. The carpets didnt look that clean but the staff let me use the pool after hours. That was fun. Bed was fairly comfy. October 3, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Should have read reviews! Surprised this property is HiExpress brand. Certainly does not live up to their standards. Slow/no customer service at front desk, room tacky, questionable cleanliness, light bulbs out, first floor room with both latches on window broken, tired breakfast items w/milk that was 4 days past expiration, teenage girls cleaning room with boyfriends and/or brothers in tow. Yikes. Checked out early. Won't be back. October 2, 2014
