Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Needs Improvement The staff was quite helpful in getting the VERY slippery bathroom floor cleaned, but the overall bathroom and room condition were not very clean. Linens seemed clean, but are very worn and thin; bedsheets were nubby from use. Staff were helpful, polite and cheerful. Hotel seems to need overall cleaning and maintenance. Also, the non-smoking and smoking rooms are not separated...they are interspersed over the entire floor (at least on the 1st floor), so do not expect to NOT smell cigarette smoke. July 14, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by FURNITURE IN GUEST ROOM In my view, the task chair in room 211 wasn't up to par. Each room should have at least two comfortable chairs. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and found the beds and other furniture to be comfortable. The wrapping on the soap in the bathroom was difficult to open! July 12, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great customer service! Every employee we met from the front desk, housekeeping on the floor, and at breakfast was very friendly and helpful! The hotel has clean, large rooms that have been renovated with new carpet and furnishings. The paint job in the bathroom was a little sloppy but that didn't affect the quality of our stay. Enjoyed having a microwave, fridge, and flat-screen TV in room with plenty of channels. Another bonus is the bath & body works amenities! The free Wi-Fi connection was great compared to most hotels we've stayed in. Would definitely recommend this hotel! June 21, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and attractive outside exterior. Beds were comfortable. Need more linens provided in bathroom but staff more than helpful to get you more when asked. Booked two (2) queen bed rooms during this stay. One rooms air conditioning did not work, could not change rooms as the hotel was fully booked. Cleanliness of rooms were good. Noise level was fine. Felt safe. Breakfast area was attractive, but tables were not cleaned on a regular basis. Ran out of hot food items on the breakfast bar two hours before end of breakfast time. We were told they were out of these items after spending considerable amount of time tracking down the dining hostess. Adequate ice available for any coolers that needed it. Exterior of building is attractive. Has adequate parking spaces. Did enjoy the coffee in the dining area, but this also ran out and had to wait for more. June 20, 2014

It is a much older one and not as upmarket as most. Too cramped as well. Sorry, but there are many more Holiday Inns of high quality. June 10, 2014

They are competitively priced with the other hotels in the area. Security of the establishment is plus. I don't feel I need to worry about my vehicle or personal property while a guest. I will continue to stay at this site anytime I come to town. June 3, 2014

I was missing an alarm clock in my room and the front desk staff went out of their way to find me one. The work out equipment was terrible. Both treadmills sounded like they were going to fall apart when using them and the bike looked like it was falling apart so I didn't even try it. No elliptical and no room for anything else or even space to stretch. The room was clean but in need of updating with trim falling down and the shower could have used a refresh on the caulk. If I had to stay longer than 1 night again I would stay someplace else that had more amenities. May 18, 2014

The smoking rooms in this hotel are on both floors and centrally located, so in reality every room is somewhat of a smoking room. The property might have been repurposed to be an HI Express, but it takes more than a can of paint. In fact, it could use a little more paint applied more expertly. The bathroom, especially, was sketchy with a corroded showerhead. The door to my (second) room (after moving because my first non-smoking room reeked of smoke) barely worked as the bolt hole had been completely ripped out. Luckily, the person who tried to get into my room in the middle of the night was unsuccessful due to the locks. Won't be staying here again. March 18, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Too much smoking and shoddy bathrooms The lobby is quite attractive, the breakfast is beyond what is expected, but the staff cigarette smoking near the lobby, especially the maids in the laundry room, is over powering for the rooms near by and the dining room. Early this year they told me the bathrooms were being redone, but they look the same. The shower curtain smelled funky and the sheets were old and pilled. The maid very nicely changed the shower curtain for me for the 2nd night, but the sheets seemed just as bad. The place is kind of beat up~lots of construction workers stay there and they smoke in the smoking bedrooms which are right next to the nonsmoking. The men are surprisingly quiet and polite, though, call me Ma'am. I hope I don't have to stay there again ~ its hard with the smoking. January 12, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Overall quality We have been staying at this location for more than 14 years. The overall quality of upkeep is just average. The bathroom in our room (116) looked as though it was only half done. The door is damaged at the bottom and is need of repainting, hinges rusty and old, tub enclosure is beige..tub is white, all caulk looks like a 5 year old did it. Wood work repair between door and tub was not done properly..looked like they used spackle instead of replacing wood trim. The noise levels seemed to be a lot worse than prior visits for some reason. TV and conversations from the room next door, hallway noise..In the past we seemed to be at the end of a hall, so maybe that's why this visit seemed so noisy. We have always asked to be away from the ice machines and elevator because we know that they are always noisy. Our children and grandchildren still live in the area, and we do come back there to stay. However, based on this last visit we may look elsewhere, in spite of the price difference. January 9, 2014

The housekeeping staff did a great job. Breakfast bar was clean and everything was hot. the hostess was so nice. I had a wonderful stay at this property. January 1, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by room not serviced First day of check in great, got same room had had before been there a few times, checked out to go to different area in Va., came back got a different room. To begin with no liners for ice bucket. Second day not serviced at all trash still in floor in tied up plastic bag that I did. Had to go to front desk when returning at night to get shampoo, conditioner, Kleenex, toilet tissue, trash liners, ice liners, towels and bath mat also no coffee or cups didn't get those. I made the bed up. Next day left came back in afternoon still nothing done. The bed sheets were changed in 3 days I was in the room. I had to take the 2 day towels to the housekeeper and ask what to do with them, the comment I got was or I thought they were clean, rolled up all together on the back of commode means clean. The floor was never vacuumed the 3 days I was in room, how I know I dropped a piece of tissue in 2 different places and one was still there and the other was picked up and left on the nightstand, so that wasn't cleaned. Seems like corners were been cut. I only got I'm sorry. There should be some recourse for that, that's uncalled for. When I was working in the hotel business you got your room at no charge and made sure it was better the next time in your room. I think I deserve a credit. The breakfast is great, the workers were very friendly and helpful and the area was kept clean. Good Job. I have family there so I may think about the one next door, we'll see. December 31, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst stay ever, should have taken my tent! First room was at the opposite end of the building on the top floor. After dragging my suitcase all the way there the room hadn't been made up from the prior occupant. Bath room dirty, bed unmade, trash on the floor, room at 50 degrees and the TV blaring. How could housekeeping miss this? Trucked my suitcase back to the front desk. They seemed astounded that the room wasn't ready. Second room was adjacent to the middle stairwell. So other hotel guests stomped up and down the stairs and kept me awake until midnight and then woke me up permanently at 5:00am. FIrst night, not restful at all and certainly not pleased. Second night tried to get to bed early (knew I would be awakened periodically) however the hotel was being painted so the compressor noise across the hallway kept me awake. I told the desk clerk about the painters and the noise but she just shrugged her shoulders and ignored me. Bottom line, if you have a choice between this hotel and a tent (regardless of weather) choose the tent! December 17, 2013

The best so far was this Mexican place not even a 1/2 mile away. I will continue choosing this hotel when I am traveling in this area. December 8, 2013
