Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A restful slumber Nice and clean. Perfect for "peace of mind" away from the kids. 3 out of 4 for staff friendliness. Clean facility. The only room that remained was a smoking room but did not smell like smoke at all for all the non-smokers like myself (if that helps anyone). The tub was clean but, looked really worn. Website says they have DVD players but, they do not. A little over priced but, all in all, great stay.... 4 out of 5 stars. November 4, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Musty, Hot Hotel Greeted at the front desk, they were very nice. Noticed hotel smelled musty right away. Room smelled worse, water stain on ceiling and the AC was not working properly. Every time the AC reached the set temperature it turned off and would not activate again unless it was reset. Room was dimly lit and did not seem clean. Toilet paper was put on upside down (minor issue but kind of summarizes the whole experience, what kind of professional cleaning person puts the TP on upside down?). Have been to lots of other Holiday Inn Express hotels that were very nice. I would avoid this hotel in the future. November 3, 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by On duty Manager gives stranger access to my room as I slept! Imagine being sound asleep in your hotel room when all of the sudden your door is opened with a very loud bang as it gets caught on the safety latch! That is how I was awaken at 5 minutes before 1am. I jumped out of the bed hollering at the intruder who was attempting access into my room while I slept. The individual said they were sorry and left. I immediately knew what happened so I called the front desk to confirm. Yes, she had provided someone else with a key card to my room! She began to explain why this happened, but I could care less. In all my travels, this is hands down the absolutely worst experience I've ever had and I will never again return to this establishment. November 1, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Clean rooms and wonderful breakfast The front door was not as accomodating as the employees working within the motel. The functionability of these doors were out of service, it made bringing in luggage a bit of a hassle. Make sure you tell the front clerk about your status within the IHG rewards program or you will not receive your bonus points. I was too tired and forgot but also I was not asked. My stay went very well, I was more let down by the points system rather than anything else within this motel. It is clean, breakfast was good and they were very accomodating. I would recommend others to stay at this establishment and i have. October 28, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Better Next Time Very poor visit/stay. Room air did not function and there were no solutions offered that were suitable or feasible. We "survived" the night, but got little sleep due to the warmness of the room. I must say that while this stay was very unpleasant, it is the first time experiencing this type of service. We stay at Holiday Inn in South Boston very frequently and our stays are usually very good. I suppose that is why I am more frustrated with this stay because it was not expected and it was not properly handled by staff. October 21, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Big disappointment at South Boston Holiday Inn Express The hotel was clean, rooms good. I reserved three rooms that were confirmed, Confirmation No. 62587820: one room for myself and my wife, and two rooms for my two daughters and their families. When we arrived, we were informed that one room had been given out to someone else, and one of my daughters had to go somewhere else. I think there was some story about one shift receiving the reservation and the next shift actually assigning the rooms, and someone made a mistake. This is nothing but mismanagement. A business must have detailed procedures that preclude such errors. October 13, 2015
