The breakfast was really good - probably the best I had in 4 weeks of traveling. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again. October 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by `The Front Desk Staff The morning employees at the front desk were helpful made some wonderful suggestions on how to get to the football stadium and back without having to move our car from the parking lot at the hotel we used the free shuttle to get to the restaurant and were able to walk to the stadium and back tothe hotel which saved us the hassle of trying figure out where to park and taking a lot of time sitting in traffic everyone was super and I would not hesitate to stay there again. The young man in the restaurant was very helpful on getting me bananas when I asked for them. October 2, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasant little surprises abounded I will come back to this hotel. It was centrally located, quiet, with plenty of convenient parking. Staff members were friendly and helpful. They had free supplies when I had left some things at home. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise because there were eggs and sausage. OK, the eggs were sort of prefab, but at least there was hot breakfast protein. I get so tired of continental breakfasts that are just some stale packaged buns, cold cereal or small yoghurts. The shower was hot and had good water pressure. The room had the useful amenities, an iron and board, frig, easy-to-reach outlets for computers, fast wifi. They had a large full-length mirror, which I needed and which is rarely provided. The AC was sufficient, in 104 degree heat, and not too loud. Overall, I was pleased, and felt I had gotten a good deal. September 25, 2013

We always have friendly and helpful staff. It was very nice to have a suite as an upgrade. We love how close this hotel is to the ASU campus and how clean the room always is. Thank you! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Stay We were in Tempe to drop off our daughter for college. This hotel was very accommodating and the staff was very friendly. After staying at this hotel for two days we decided to stay another night. It only took two minutes for them to give us additional night. They also shuttle you to and from the airport which is very convenient. The room was cleaned on a daily basis. The staff was very helpful at all times. Had a great time. Now when visiting our daughter we will always stay at this hotel! August 12, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bad start Flight delays caused me to show up at 1230am. Exhausted, went to my room to find the room temp to be over 100 degrees. The ac was shut off. I commend the site for trying to save energy, but when it is 107 degrees outside, it is a bit ridiculous to have the ac shut off. June 25, 2013

The breakfast was filling and satisfying. The family is content with Holiday Inn Express and we look forward to future stays. June 24, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor customer service and unclean room and bad plumbing We had trouble with the TV in our room, so we called the front desk to ask for help on our first night there, and we were told that they would check it out and call back. No one ever called us back even though we stayed 3 more nights after that call. Also, our room carpet was not clean. Plus, the shower drain backed up with every shower we took. June 12, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice place to stay The hotel was really nice and cheery. The check in staff he was really nice. The room was very comfortable. The downfall was the noise that came through the bottom of the door and hearing doors slam and other guests talking. The second night we took the blanket to put by the door and that helped. Breakfast was good loved the pancakes. Just wished they would have fresh fruit like bananas, apples or oranges. The breakfast had lots of bread choices along with pancakes, scramble eggs and that is why the fruit would be a nice touch. Ps the hot chocolate was yummy. May 16, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Management took care of us! It is a comfortable place to stay. When we experienced housekeeping that wasn't up to par, the management team took care of us and made it right. The beds are more comfortable than many higher priced hotels, the air conditioning works perfectly, and the general facilities are well maintained. We would definitely stay at this hotel again! Great location with plenty of food options. There is a large construction project going on next to this location but it wasn't to much noise except during the day - the noise wrapped up at a reasonable hour. March 31, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor service and horrible management. Won't be staying again. Our stay was by far the worst of any IHS stay. The rooms were decent, but very noisy. 2 of the 4 rooms in our party had their keys stop working (both keys at the same time), one of them twice. And then there was the breakfast, or lack thereof. On the first day (Saturday), they were out of fruit by 0800 and the eggs and sausage took forever to be refilled. The second day they ran out of eggs, yogurt, biscuits, and cinnamon rolls by 0840. Despite a number of very upset customers, we got nothing but excuses from the manager and there were no attempts to make things better. What is worse, he hadn't seen the problem developing on Saturday and hadn't considered that there wouldn't be anything available for breakfast Monday until it was pointed out to him. The only thing he could tell us was IF the delivery was early on Monday (0700), he MIGHT have food available by 0800 (in fact, there wasn't anything available by 0830). The bottom line is that for 2 days, there was nothing but gravy, bread, and some cold cereal (and precious little milk). Somebody did make an effect to pick up some yogurt at a local store, but it was far too little. When we talked to the general manager on Monday, not only was he unprofessionally dressed, all he did was offer more excuses. No apology, no offers to try to make things up to the guests, nothing. This was our first stay at this Hotel and we won't be back. There were several other guests, some repeat customers, who also said that this was their last stay at this hotel. The bottom line is that there are lots of other IHS properties in the Phoenix area. Choose another one (the Crowne Plaza North Phoenix that we stayed at a few days later was very nice and cheaper to boot). March 30, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A pleasant surprise I have seen this property change ownership 3 times. It was a pleasant surprise that its now a Holiday Inn Express property. I was pleased with the cleanliness, the updates and the hotel staff. However I did have 2 concerns. The hotel towels were very dingy and hard. The fitness room was missing disinfect bottles to clean the machines after each use. I spoke to the front desk about it. They were very nice and said house keeping would get to it. Can you imagine touching the work out equipment after the guest before you has perspired all over it. Gross. It is a common fitness room etiquette to personally wipe your machine down after each use with a disinfect spray.... We the guest were willing to do this but did not have the means. March 30, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient for visit to ASU Two bed suite room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Requested and got quiet room on 3rd floor. Didn't use pool or fitness center. Alex at front desk was very helpful with restaurant suggestions within walking distance. Business center off the lobby was used for checking email so didn't need to bring laptop. One night elevator wasn't working so took inside stairs up to room (no problem). Repair people were already on site and elevator was fixed before I needed it the next morning. A/C fan was loud but efficient in keeping room tempurature fairly comfortable. Picked hotel because within walking distance to ASU and not familair with the area. March 21, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasantly Surprised I truly was pleased with this property. The front desk clerk (either Roger or Robert - sorry I forgot to write it down) was delightful and very welcoming. It is great when you can start a stay with feeling welcomed at a hotel. This front desk clerk went out of his way to help us find food that would be delivered (it New Year's day and some places were closed - so the help was appreciated). The breakfast food gave me a variety of options and I appreciated that as well. We stayed in a king size room with a jacuzzi bath tub which was great after hiking the next day. The room was nice and dark for sleeping in late and the temperature easy to regulate. Because of this good experience and the location - easy to get to Botanical Gardens, to hiking spots, etc I will definitely stay at this location the next time in the Phoenix/Tempe area. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by An excellent stay I picked this hotel because it was walking distance to ASU and basically on the light rail line. I was in town to race Ironman Arizona, so I wanted to rest, but still be close enough to the race venue. I was able to sleep soundly every night. I had requested a room on the first floor. I was afraid this would be noisy, but I never heard anyone else, and usually I do because I can not sleep well away from home. The refrigerator was spacious, plenty of room for the groceries I purchased. The TV was huge. The room was clean and did not smell abnormal. My family attended the breakfast and was thrilled with the food choices. The gym has one treadmill and one bike. It is a very small room. However, no one else ever came in when I was using the equipment. The staff were always friendly and helpful. November 25, 2012
