Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Room & Service Although our room was fine, we had one time the room was not made up when we returned at the end of the day. We had to call for fresh towels. And, every day we returned to our roon we had to go back to the front desk to have our room key rekeyed.....keys never worked the first time we used them EVERY day. I don't know how old the hotel is, but we did notices several places that are in need of repair. In our room around the window and especially in the pool area. We like the location because it is very close to the relatives we were visiting. And we did like the breakfast selections every day. This was the 2nd of 3 Holiday Inn Express we stayed in on our trip and the ONLY one that we had any problems with during our stay. September 12, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Service , dingy sheets I always stay at holiday Inn express all over Texas and this was not a good experience first I found blonde hair on the nightstand, locked out of room with failed room key twice. Manager tried to tutor me about where i should keep the key. Very condensing. I requested a late checkout online, called the night before I arrived and was told that wasn't a problem, also told front desk at check in and morning of checkout but no one wrote it down or told next person. Sheets very dingy and towels very worn and dingy. Very disappointed with this location not representative of chain. September 3, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Hopefully just a one time issue Easy to access location and quiet area. Room was clean and very comfortable. Had an issue with the shower drain not draining, but it was after 10PM so I did not call the front desk. The breakfast bar was nice and the choices of breakfast items was outstanding. Check in time was listed on the Priority Club website as 11:00 AM, but at the location it was 3:00 PM. Very minor issues compared to the overall experience. August 22, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Breakfast Bar Breakfast is served from 7:00am to 10:00am, during that time the breakfast bar should be full at all times. We came in at 8:50 am and the hot water dispenser was empty, 3 out 4 cereal canisters were empty and they had ran out of fruit. The hotel was busy so the breakfast bar should have been stocked until time of closing. August 4, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Blood on my sheets After staying there three days I finally saw the blood stains on my sheets, I am not sure if they were there the 1st day but on my check out day, I noticed blood drops in the sheets I had slept in. The blood drops were dry and I am sure the sheets were or had been washed but still, those sheets should be inspected and discarded. As I said I stayed three nights and I hope my sheets were changed after the second night if not .........I slept in blood stained sheets for three days. The business center computer does not allow WORD docs to be printed or viewed it apparently has a block according to the front desk person. That does not make any sense, why would you block word docs when business traveling people may need access to them for viewing or printing????? When I informed the front desk person she was very accommodating in trying to remove the "PARENTAL BLOCK" so I could print my docs, but she was not able. She did offer to print them at her computer behind the desk so I sent the word docs to her e-mail and she printed them for me. She was helpful but if you have a "business center" guests should be able to print word docs. Overall the stay was ok. But if I stay there again I will definitely check my sheets!!!!!! July 31, 2013

Called the front desk and they told me they didn't know why they didn't clean it, but they would bring me a clean towel. O well they were to busy watching T V. July 28, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Simple and comfortable We had a half-business, half-pleasure stay in the area. The hotel is about five miles outside the Loop, but it's right on the Marsha Sharp Freeway which takes you right through the commercial part of town and straight into downtown and Texas Tech. Our room was clean and comfortable. We did use the pool, and it was quite immaculate...not dirty at all! Breakfast was what you would come to expect and an Express, but the pancake machine was not working. There's no reason why I wouldn't come here again on a stay in Lubbock. The lone negative that stood out is that we were not recognized as Priority Club members with no welcome bag. July 17, 2013

Came back to my room and found the door open, the bed was only partially made, none of the trash had been picked up. There was an empty cup with a teabag in it setting on the arm of the chair from the night before. I called the front desk and the person came up and looked in the room. Wasn't too excited about the trash, said "they only pick up the trash cans, not anything from the tables" and offered to make the bed. Mentioned that sometimes the door doesn't shut correctly and showed me that this door did not shut all the way unless you helped it. She finally offered me a different room but I declined-by then I didn't feel like moving all my hanging clothes and suitcase to anywhere else. I had stayed there 3 weeks previous to that and had a good stay. The personnel are polite and generally professional and the rooms are usually cleaned well. June 27, 2013

She was quick to handle all of the questions that my husband had and even recommended some good restaurants in town. The hotel has a nice pool area and the rooms are very spacious and clean. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by First time I have written a bad review of an Express Made the reservation six months before. Greeted with a bunch of forms telling me I could sign and except a 1/3 increase in rate or move along. 9 hours on the road, basically in a desert community and well...little choice but to accept their new rates. They had six months to notify me of change, but waited until I had no choices available. Asked for two extra pillows when made reservation. Never got them, even after repeated visits to front desk and requests to House keeping. Finally got one on my last night there after causing a scene at front desk. Food was in general cold, but they were clearly overwhelmed by number of visitors. Something that looked like puke or ice cream in hall for two days and I believe they have a Rolle Derby Rink on the third floor. There was a graduation in town. Little did I realize I was being graduated to a third rate customer. May 24, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Do Not Recommend I had 2 poor experiences in 2 visits 2 weeks apart. The first visit when well until the last day, when I returned from work around 6pm to find there was not any hot water I informed the front desk and they were trying to get ahold of somebody to repair the issue. When I woke up in the morning the issue had not been resolved nor did the employee at the front desk know of the issue. The second visit, i checked in around 11:30 pm and went to my room to find the light in the shower did not work, the alarm clock was broken, and when I pulled back the sheets there was a red stain and dirt on the sheets, I tried to call the front desk but the phone did not work. The lady at the front desk gave me another room, got in to it about midnight, the alarm clock in this room did not work properly either and the refrigerator was missing. The second night somebody must have been smoking in the room next ot mine as I continually smelled cigarette smoke and the only way to keep it out was to run the bathroom fan all night. I have had enough with the issues of this hotel, in the future I will be staying at the HIE a couple miles up the road, though less convenient, I hope to have an experience similar to the other HIEs where I have stayed. This hotel also does not recognize anybody as priority club members. May 14, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by No Thanks!! When I checked in and they gave me the room I went to put my stuff in it and it had not been cleaned at ALL... I went back down to the desk and told them and the manager was like well it should be are you sure. Yes I sure I was just there... So it takes and hour and 1/2 to get other room together at least it was clean. This is one of the older holiday inns and I was not impressed with the interior. The outside had been redone but not the inside. Will not choose to stay at this one again. May 2, 2013

Bath towels were dingy and rough (not soft)-like those in the low priced motels. Breakfast: coffee was empty, orange juice was empty, juice was spilled on the counter and left-remained on the counted after I left the breakfast area. April 18, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very Disappointing Housekeeping is a huge problem at this hotel. I was scheduled for three nights at this hotel but left after two. Upon check in, my room was clean but after coming back from working the next day. Housekeeping had only made my bed. They did not clean the bathroom or pick up dirty towels or leave any clean ones. The owner told me the manager would be calling me about my concern, but i never received a call from anyone from this hotel. This is a new and very well decorated hotel, but housekeeping is horrible! It makes one wonder if the sheets on the bed were slept on by the previous customer. Very noisy, too. March 16, 2013
