Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A very nice hotel. . . I truly enjoy the Holiday Inn Express chain, and prefer to stay in them when traveling for business. That being said, one of the big reasons I choose Holiday Inn Express is for their exercise facilities. I work out regularly while at home, and do not want to give up my progress while traveling. The exercise room equipment at Holiday Inn Express Yakima needs some work. As I mentioned to the desk clerk on checking out, the tread mill control buttons for the different exercise routines do not function, and it appears to me that the seat on the exercise bike is jammed. I spent 10 minutes trying to adjust it, and could not get it to move. I enjoyed my stay. My room was fresh and comfortable. The morning breakfast area is wonderful, the food is great. . . but the exercise room needs some attention. August 27, 2013

Since we got there the staff were friendly and gaves us suggetions for dinner, they recomend Bob's Gurgers that was so good!! The location of the hotel was very good , a block from the convention center, less then a block from a little shopping area. Breakfast was fresh, but not too many options. Having the pool open 24 hours is amazing! August 8, 2013

The evening treat of cookies/milk nicely done and delicious cookies. Breakfast was average, we were there about 7 AM and most items were fresh, however, the biscuits were quite hard and that surprised me. August 8, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Ant infested I need to mention that I am a Platinum Member and I stay at your hotels acorss the country. I chose your hotels becuase I usually have a good experience. The rooms are always clean and the staff is alwys helpfull and freindly. My stay in Yakima Washington was the exception. I checked in around 7:30 PM and the and the clerk behind the counter acted like I was an inconvience and was very short with me. The room has amajor infestation with small ants. As I was sitting at the desk they were crawling up my legs and on the desk. They were even in the bed. The next morning I had to go through my suitcase and try to get rid of the ants that had crawled in. When I returned home I found out that I did not get all of them and I had to take my suitcase out side and work at getting rid of them. When I told the clerk about the ants she said there was nothing she could do they were sold out. There is a Holiday Inn very near by and she made no effort to see if they could accomidate me. When I checked out in the morning and I told the day clerk about the issue her only response was thank for telling her they would check it out. An appoligy would have been in order. My stay in in your hotel in Yakima Washington was not a enjoyable experience. When I travel to Yakima for business I will be staying at a different hotel. August 7, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good in a pinch I was not welcomed as a PC member and offered the standard update on my points balance.. It stood out as we wound down from a long cross country road trip and other IHG hotels welcomed us and also typically offered some goodies at check in. After a long drive I did ask the front desk for a couple of bottles of water and she kindly provided which helped. It was a late check in and we didn't notice until morning we had been given a room that hadn't been completely made before our arrival. It was missing towels and the standard toiletries. Thankfully the beds were made and we did get to settle in for the night. Getting up and speaking with the front desk about the missing items was pleasant - they were extremely helpful and responsive. As a Platinum PC member I had also been hoping for a room upgrade and it seemed online that there were other options but being tired we gladly settled into our room. At breakfast I was really pleased to find that being WA the choice of apple sauce in addition to the basic HIE breakfast bar. It was a small/clever addition. Our small children were excited by it as an option to Yoplait. August 3, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Tough Stay While most Holiday Inns offer great experiences, a recent stay at this property was not so enjoyable. No special greeting upon arrival, had to ask for a bottle of water and told my "goody bag" was in the room. No bag of goodies in the room. The room was so hot and the A./C was running full tilt all night and never cooled down. Bed was comfortble was one of the only positive qualities of this stay. When I handed my key in upon departure, no thank you or have a good day or how was your stay. I recommend the Holiday Inn down the street over this Holiday Inn Express. Not a great night experience at this property. Staff was not well focused on customer expectations. July 21, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Noise! This was perhaps one of the less impressive experiences we have had with Holiday Inn Express. To start with, the desk clerk (Amber) decided to change our room to 126 - in the basement at the end of the hallway. We had, perhaps the smallest room in HI Express and the noisiest. There were a bunch of athletes living above us and they kept us awake till the wee hours of the morning. Additionally, the cars and trucks started off early in the morning so we virtually got no sleep. I was sorely disappointed with this property - May 11, 2013

The pool was perfect to accomodate the masses of players from several teams. We want to extend a huge thank you to our night host, he was working the night we checked in on April 26 and also April 27. He was very personable and was great to our boys. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great customer service! We often stay at Holiday Inn Express Hotels because I can use my Priority Point Rewards and also the extras that are included in the price. But this stay at the Yakima Holiday Inn Express was by far, the best experience we have ever encountered at a HIE Hotel. From the moment we walked and my son rolled in his wheelchair through the front door, the general manager greeted us from behind the desk with a smile, an offer to help unload the car, an invitation to have a free chicken strip and salad dinner with dessert and then, proceeded to walk us to our handicap accessible room and make sure we had everything we needed for the stay. Throughout the three days in the hotel, he and his staff were always ready to help in any way we needed, even going out of their way to ask if there was anything more they could do. The room had a back sliding door right to a handicap accessible parking spot which made the trip to the car as easy as possible and quick. This particular HEI hotel in Yakima deserves kudoos and recognition from HEI management for their exquisite customer service and amenities. Thanks! March 26, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Old Matress Dont normally complain about a Hotel, but the bed I had was sunk in and very hard. The room seemed to be upgraded except for the matress. I travel 2 weeks out of the month and stay at a lot of Holiday Inns, and have had no issues until this one. Ck your matress before you settle in, if not to your liking move rooms. Also the bathroom door gets stuck on the tile as its too long and could only open 75% of the way. These types of details really inforce or decrease the hotel experience. March 23, 2013

However, the Yakima HIE location is one of the best! The facility has superior customer service compared to its competition. The employee, Amber, at the front desk, was extremely professional with handling the issue with my room. Her genuine concern, level of care and response to the issue was impressive. She said she would personally see that my issue was resolved. She offered to switch me into another room which I declined and was satisfied with staying the night in the original room. When I returned to my room after work on the next day, my room had been repaired as promised... Its nice to see there are still great customer service people out there. I wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting Yakima! January 16, 2013

The idea of not having to go out in the car to find somewhere to eat was very inviting. However, when we arrived at 6:35 (6:30 was advertised) the small crock pot was almost empty. There was a baseball team staying at the facility also. We were disappointed that we had to go out in search of dinner. January 15, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice place to stay while in Yakima We had a good experience here... It was over the Holidays, so the staff were a little scrambled, but it was nice enough. Breakfasts were great! Pool was fun for our oldest kid. The staff did their best to accommodate us given that we were traveling with newborn triplets and a 5 year old. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and worked around all of us and our equipment. The only downside was there were ants in the bathroom. We killed a few and the next morning, they were back in full force. January 10, 2013

I have recently signed up as a priority Member since i have been staying Holiday Inn Express much more than before because of Traveling purposes.I made a reservation over the Phone and when got there Lady(Manager on duty at night) gave me one Smaller size bed(Looked like double bed) which I had to go back to front desk and complain but she would not give me king size bed at first and then upon insisting that how uncomfortable it would be for me and my wife to sleep all night on such a small bed, I was Lucky Enough to get King size bed but that room was full of some kind of smell which i didn't want to complain again.But over all it was OK.
