Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by I would not recommend this hotel First time I went to this hotel was in 2012. It was late summer. I did not get my room choice and staff was not that friendly. Was able to feel to sand in carpet as my family walked. Bathroom needed work. Hotel was not kept as the beach hotels should be. In any case when we planned trip this year I decided to give them another chance. Fast forward to Nov. 2014. I check in during 2nd week of Nov. and this is their slow season. As I pull in the hotel I see parking lot is empty. As I register I am told my room is upgraded. So, I am happy and I ask what's the upgrade. Well it was nothing more than regular king bed. So, technically there was no upgrade. I ask for ocean front room as upgrade after much struggle I am told they have one and are going to put me there. I go in my room and open the back room curtain to see the ocean front and "Surprised". Guess what? there are people starring at me from their TiKi bar; as this room has no ocean front. So, again, technically, no upgrade here. So, I ask to put me back to my original room. In my transition from so called upgraded ocean front room to another room I forget one of my small bag with medicine. Later in the evening around 08:00pm or 08:30pm I realize so I go to front desk and ask them to let me retrieve my belonging. I am told that room was rented. So, I ask to please contact the room. I am not sure what number they were calling but until midnight I am continued being told that guest is not available and they even called guest cell phone. I asked staff to go knock on the door and they refuse. According to their policy knocking on the door is disturbing the guest. But, calling them in their room or on their cell phone is not disturbing." Go Figure. I asked when the manager will be on duty and I am told next day 7am. Finally, I decide to go to sleep without my medicine and asked when the manager will be in office so I can have manager make executive decision and knock on the door. Next morning I wake up at 07:30pm call front desk and I ask to speak with the manager. I am asked what is the reason? Really, I need to give a reason to speak with manager? Anyway, I explain entire facts and lady who answered the phone told me manager will not be in until 09:00am and she is front desk supervisor and she cannot do anything. this time she said she cannot even call guest until 09:00am because contacting guest before 9am is considered disturbing the guest. Humhh, it seems like disturbing the guest policy is written by each individual staff member at this hotel. I inform her that I didn't have my medicine last night and I really need it now. I am sure guest will understand it. And by the way, 7am is not too terribly early for anyone given the reason. However, she decide not to help me. I informed her I am left with no other alternative but to call 911. As I was about to dial 911 thought occurred to me that why not I just call the room directly and explain my situation. So, I called guest and explained of my being in that room and switching the room leaving my bag with medicine. Guest was very nice and asked me to come down to his room and pick it up. This makes me wonder all the calls staff claims to have made night before and guest didn't even respond from their cell phone? Do you feel something fishy hear? Finally, I had my medicine and went back to sleep. Same day my neighbor and I start talking and they complaint of their door not opening and they had much difficulty trying to get someone to open their door. When they do settle in they don't have hot water. At least person that was helping said sorry to them. In my case ditto. Nada. nothing. As far as the room I ended up staying the bathroom were not cleaned. Grouts were dirty, There was plain dust visibly in exhaust fan, so much dust that actually covered up AC power outlet. Walls has paint off, bed head board top was never ever wiped by the house keeping, towels were visibly very old as you can see the whiteness gone from the towel. Apparently, this site does not let me upload the photos, although it says you can. So, I'll be uploading photos on trip advisor. Honestly, avoid this hotel and terrible staff. They don't really care for the guest. The mentality is we're going to get people because where we are located and rate they offer. I'd rather either pay more and go somewhere better or stay bit far away and walk to the beach. November 19, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good stay but needs upgrading I agree with other reviewers that the rooms are in definite need of upgrading, but was visiting family so we didn't spend too much time in the rooms. My 8 yr old loved the bunk beds and thought the place was cool. I might come back if I make a trip to The area again, but only after the rooms are renovated. The only problem I came across was when my son spilled water all over the bed and when the maid knocked on my door I asked her if I could get new bedding. she gave me quite an attitude about me taking off the bedding and mattress pad and needing it replaced. I don't know why, I hope im not the first one to ask for clean bedding?? November 19, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Great location The location is great but the rooms are run down and need some attention. The room door handle was not working properly and every time we tried to get in, it was a struggle. The rugs are very worn and the a/c unit was not working the first night. By the time we left, the toilet was not flushing either. There were 3 of us in a room yet the single tiny bottles of conditioner and shampoo were never replenished in the 3 nights we were there nor was the coffee supply. We did not have enough clean towels. The clerk who checked us in was super friendly, and the girls who worked at The Porch early morning were as well. We truly enjoyed our view of the beach, the location and the fire pit at night was a real joy for us. Just disappointed in how rundown the room felt. There was no microwave in the room and we were told there was one for guest use near the drink machines. IT WAS FILTHY inside. Again, really great location, loved the outside amenities and for the most part the staff was friendly. Rooms need help. Thank you. We did enjoy our stay. November 18, 2014

Deficiencies were reported to hotel management and we hope these items will be addressed so that others don't encounter these relatively minor problems. Look forward to returning. November 18, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by comfortable, and relaxing, It is a very nice place to stay, convenient to shopping, and especially the beach. Gorgeous view. Comfortable stay and a very friendy staff. Clean rooms. Had a little mix up with one of the rooms, i think because i went through someone else to book. i recommend going right to The Beach House themselves. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Relaxing Stay The staff at Holiday Inn Resort Beach House went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and relaxing. I took a red eye and landed at 8:00am. Check in time for the hotel was 4:00pm. When I arrived at the hotel it was about 9:30am and I went in to ask if I could leave my car in the lot while I walked around. The person at the front desk asked me if I would like to check into my room early. I can't tell you how good it felt to be able to take a shower and freshen up after flying all night.
