Lo was wonderful. She was very kind and helpful. Room was incredibly average and not what I would have considered a resort. The close proximity to the ocean and the restaurant were the best things it had going for it.

Wouldn't advise staying at this hotel until construction is completed.

We stay in the holiday inns when we travel for work or play. Most of the time we stay in the express ones because were traveling to mostly for golf turn. We travel from north to south and east to west. We all ways find the hotels to be what we want. thank you for keeping such good places.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by girl weekenders Beautiful grounds, rooms needed work
Beach and hotel grounds were beautiful. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food and drinks in The Porch bar/restaurant were outstanding. The room was in the middle of a remodel and was not clean and looked pretty sketchy. We also were not restocked with basics daily (soap, toilet paper, washcloths, etc). I think the rooms will look much better when the remodel is finished, but I'm uncertain whether the cleaning staff will improve.

We knew the hotel was under reno when we booked. I did not have a problem with that as most of my time was out and about on business.
The good - When the reno is done this will be a fantastic property. The Tiki bar was a nice feature and the beach front volley ball was great.
The Bad - What hotel in US has such dinky full-size beds? I expected 2 queen beds and got 2 fulls. The headboards mounted to the walls were even sized for queens, seriously. Have been to IHG facilities all over the country - never had one with such a cruddy bed, pillows and linens.
The room was hacked together of old & new. Here is an idea - close a floor, finish each room and THEN rent them out. The carpet was not even tacked/glued down. The wife smelled mold every time we got onto the elevator.
Again, I knew that the hotel was under reno when I booked, but did not expect slip-shod in my room.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rich30 Good experience despite construction
Despite a massive property renovation, my stay was very good. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and to offer whatever possible to make the stay enjoyable.
Despite the construction, the rooms were clean, food service areas very good and even though there was a lot of traffic within the property, the construction workers were very courteous to not disrupt the guests if possible.
I have to commend the people responsible for the logistics of having this renovation done while still conducting daily business. It was as smooth as could possibly be expected.
I always enjoy staying at the Beach House and will eagerly anticipate my return in several months.

needed a stay on Island for one night and had a very average experience but it was mostly because of hotel renovation.
