We booked a room for tree people, that included breakfest, at least that wath my booking said. Turns out that only breakfest for two people was included. Also nowhere on the webside does it say that the rooftop bar is closed due to renovation next door.
Otherwise the location is great, staff is very friendly, and the rooms are comfortable.

I am a travel industry professional focusing on the luxury sector. I've had the priveledge of staying in some pretty swell hotels. When I'm on sales trips I try to keep within a budget. I was so pleasantly surprised by this hotel on my first visit that I scheduled a stay over the weekend with my wife. She was as pleasantly surpised as I was. It's clean, friendly and in a great location to get around town quickly. Restaurants in the immediate area leave something to be desired but that's a small sacrifice for the value!

We stayed in the Hotel Indigo Chelsea for 5 nights on our first trip to New York. The location was fantastic, within easy distance of the 28th st subway, making getting around really easy.
The room was clean and bright, with everything we could need. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

Hotel Indigo is a very modern and chic hotel in the IHG brand. Being a Priority Club member really helps out. The suite was very spacious and had an amazing view of the city skyline.
The restaurant China Latina was delicious. It has an amazing fusion twist to it. The service at the restaurant was just perfect. Thanks Jonathan!

I stayed at Hotel Indigo Chelsea for 4 days while on a business trip to NYC. Arriving in a city you are unfamiliar with is always challenging, especially NYC. The staff at Hotel Indigo were my saving grace with their knowledge and excellent customer service. I had no idea what direction to even head in to attend the conference I was there for. Needless to say, the staff gave me flawless directions. The hotel was very clean and inviting. The Aveda salon products are also a nice touch. If you get a chance to stay there, try the hotel's restaurant, China Latina. Excellent food along the same great customer service of the hotel. I highly recommend a stay at this hotel. It is also conveniently located and it is easy to get anywhere in Manhattan that you need to be.

Ivy the front desk hotel personnel was very pleasant. I give her the 5 stars! She made sure that our experience at the hotel was as comfortable as possible. The hotel rooms were small compared to the California hotels, but what do you expect- this is New York. The hotel was very clean, staff were super super friendly. I went on a convention at the Javits Convention Center so I came in early and left the hotel late, but it was not a problem. The hotel gladly checked my luggage in early while we stroll around New York. I found this location very convenient. Highly recommend this place! I will definitely be back!

Visit was fine. They had to fix the heating unit, and 30 minutes of repair work removing and repairing the unit corrected the problem. However, an apology from management would have been nice. Perhaps it is on the web site somewhere, but I wished I would have known that there was free wifi before I arrived since I left my iPad back home.

The room was small but when we are in Manhattan we don't spend much time in the room. The room was well outfitted, very clean and comfortable. All staff were very professional, friendly and efficient. Location is perfect. Overall this was an excellent experience for us. I would definitely stay here again and I will refer my friends and colleagues.

i found the hotel very good and the staff friendly and helpful but i am sorry to say that i found the menu in the restaurant was not to my likeing and i think it should cater for more international guests its a bit too as the name says chino/latino and maybe a buffet breakfast

Location was great and allow walking to most popular sites while been just off the main busy streets. Subway station just at the end of street.
Staff were very helpful and overall comfort was great.
Good value for money and would reccommend.

I'm an IHG Platinum Member and was in town for an event at Madison Square Gardens. If you are a member of IHG / Holiday Inn Rewards and you are looking to attend an event at the Garden, this is a great place to stay. Several restaurants along the route when walking to/from the Garden. Restaurant at the hotel is terrific, but they do close early considering the location. Rooftop bar is neat as well.
Would have been a great stay but there were construction vehicles backing up all night on 28th Street. Air conditioning did not work so it was either bake in an 80 degree room or open the windows and listen to construction all night. I was only there for one night so I don't know if they fixed the problem or not. Thermostat indicator said, "COOL ON" but the lower the temp I requested, the hotter it got in the room. I reported the issue at checkout the next day, was only there for one night.

Arrived at hotel at 10:30pm on Saturday 12/29. We were told the restaurant closed at 11:00pm. We took our bags to our room and arrived at the restaurant at 10:45pm. We were told by the host at the restaurant that the kitchen was closed. I ask what time the restaurant closes and the host to me 11:00pm. so, the restaurant is open but the kitchen is closed? Yes we are not serving any more customers, the kitchen is closed.
We were told that room service was available until 11:00pm. We went to our room and called room service and we told that room service was closed. When asked why, they said they were slow tonight and closed early.
Mind you, this was a Saturday night two days before New Years in New York City.
We have stayed at many Indigos and was very disappointed with this property.

Staff was most cordial and helpful, very willing to advise on sites and restaurants. Room was clean and nicely appointed. Nicely situated in the Flower Distrrict and abutting Chelsea. A great value.

I was looking forward to an awesome experience based on all of the reviews of the Hotel Indigo Chelsea. I'm a Platinum IHG Member and Corporate Event Planner. I've stayed at many hotels in NYC and other locations so I can give a fair review. PROS: Room was clean. Check in was easy. Free drink coupons and breakfast credit for one day. Beds are comfortable. Close to public transportation. CONS: A bellman was outside when we arrived in the cab but didn't offer to help us with our bags, just yelled at cab driver to move the car. We lugged our bags out of the car and rolled them into the hotel on our own with the bellman watching us! No upgrades available at the hotel for IHG Platinum Members. We were told by the front desk receptionist that double bed rooms do not have upgrades at the Chelsea Hotel. Wall paint is scratched and dinged. Hotel is suppose to be non-smoking but we returned to our room one night and it smelled like a casino. Called front desk and told them it must be coming through the vents. They said they would be up to check. No one ever showed up. I will probably find another place to stay the next time I'm in town.

Customer is King? Definitely not in Hotel Indigo.
E.g. I forgot a jacket in my room after having checked out and had a terrible experience in trying to get it back. Especially the staff at the reception is very unfriendly.
This is not the level of service I expect from a mid-up class hotel.

The hotel is lovely. Rooms are small but that is typical for NYC. The location is great, close to Greenwich Village, easy walking distance. Clean, updated and comfy beds with wonderful linens!

I had an extended stay at the Indigo recently and to be honest it was kind of a mixed bag. First the good, The rooms are rather small, yet clean and cozy with faux hardwood floors. The restaurant and bar in the lobby is unique and the food, especially breakfast, was pretty good. On thanksgiving morning I woke at 9 A.M. and walked a few blocks and had was right ont he route for The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade a great experience I won't soon forget. The reason I knocked it down from excellent is due to the staff. The desk staff of a hotel of this kind obviously deals with a bunch of guff every day and I heard guests complaining about the most obnoxious things, for this reason I was always very courteous and gracious. Yet they continued to either be snarky, or just plain miserable (except the girl in the morning, always smiles.) They frequently lost messages left at the front desk (which the morning girl would always find,) of course the few times I left a tip at the front desk for someone they had no trouble keeping track of it. I also happened to get ill during my stay and didn't think I could drive myself to the hospital, I called the desk and asked if they could call me a cab, "Sorry, sir we can't call a cab, but you can call an ambulance if you'd like." So I got dressed, hauled myself downstairs, walked the block and a half to the parking garage, and drove myself to the hospital, vomiting all the way. Fun. After spending almost a month in their establishment you would think they could be kind, friendly, or maybe try to get to know you and accommodate to your needs, no such luck, except of course for the woman who worked the morning shift.

Everything from reservation to checkout was perfect. The room was very clean and comfortable, and nicely decorated. The staff was courteous, friendly, and helpful. I called for some extra K-cups for the Keurig, which arrived in one minute. They were able to accomodate an early check-in, as well as stowing suitcases when we checked out. The location is highly desireable, a half block from the subway in Chelsea, and within walking distance of Penn Station, Madison Square Garden, the theater district, and Greenwhich Village. the front desk even provided a very helpful and detailed map of the city, including subways. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

The room is small, but that isn't the problem, the problelm is that the space is not taken advantage of. The shower in the bathroom should be divided by a curtain of something, because nobody can use the sink if there is somebodoy in the shadow, There shoud be a place with a mirror and outlets in the bedoroom you can use to put on makeup and blow dry your hair.
The service was good and the hotel is clean.

First of all the Hotel Staff was amzing!!! My husband called in and talked with the manager and told him it was my 40th birthday and wanted NYC to be a special experience. The hotel manager greeted us with drink vouchers and in our room were fresh baked cupcakes from a NYC bakery! What great customer service!!! Our room was small but it was perfect!! Very clean, great design! One night there was a Halloween party on the balcony and a very long line to get to our room. The staff relaized we were wanting to get to our room and helped us right away and bypassed the people going to the party. The staff was great about letting us check out early due to hurricane Sandy and gave our money back for the nights we did not stay. When we go back to NYC we will stay at this hotel. Thank you so much! Hope to see you soon!!!

I recommend this hotel unreservedly to anyone looking for a modern and clean room, comfortable bed and convenience to a range of locations throughout the city. I found all areas I wanted to get to in an enjoyable walking distance, i.e.. bars, cafes, restaurants of Chelsea, and then 10 mins in the other direction and you can be back at the Macy's flagship store, or in Times Square. I walked to and from 5th Avenue shops many times, and enjoyed the walk, or if you feel too tired and have too many shopping bags, a taxi is very affordable back to the hotel (i.e. ~$10.00USD). There are many facilities right near by, i.e. Starbucks and Duane Reade convenience store is 2 mins walk if you need anything. The housekeeping staff are very attentive, and always refresh the room daily making your stay feel very fresh every day. I was at the hotel 9 nights and I enjoyed every minute. My room was on the 12th floor on the 28th street side, and I slept like a baby every night, the noise cancelling windows are fantastic. I would return in a heart beat. Highly recommended.

I fell in love with this great location and fine hotel two visits ago. I live on the East End of Long island and find this hotel in the perfect location in Manhattan - a few stops south on the convenient 1 Train and you are anywhere up/down town. The rooms are immaculate, comfortable, accommodating, as is the staff friendly, professional, and helpful.
BUT CALL FIRST! THE JACK HAMMERING BEGAN AT 8:06 AM!!!! I had a late meeting and planned on sleepinglate due to the great check out time of Noon.. I had to LEAVE the hotel. The hammering was so loud it scared me - a former New Yorker! Imagine.......

My wife and I and our grandson visited the hotel and New York City the first weekend of October. We had stayed in the hotel the previous year and had such a positive experience that we decided to stay there again. We were not disappointed. The staff was courteous and efficient; housekeeping was spot on and worked without being intrusive. Reservations were easy. The stay was everything we hoped for and more.
