Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Loosing Credibility I typically like staying at the Indigo Alamo over the one on St Mary's. Its location is great to walk to restaurants and nightlife and the rooms are well set and maintained. I have experienced a less than stellar stay on this visit. I noticed that you've done away with the 2 free drinks program and instead have offered a free appetizer. I think more patrons would use the drink coupons Vs the food which is more than likely why you made the change? Anyway my biggest grip is over two other points. I asked the clerk at the front desk in the morning for a late checkout because my wife was with me and felt ill. He made a pretty big deal of it and gave me till noon. Secondly I called down for my car and 40 yes 40 minutes later still no car. The valet guy told me he was working between two hotels and I had to walk to your lot to get my car with him. Unprofessional and a timely delay I didn't need that morning. I will stay with IHG properties but more than likely will start giving the Crowne Plaza a turn in the future. November 21, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Conveniently Located My husband and I just spent 5 nights here. We only used our car one day to visit the Missions. It was quick and easy to get the car. It was great to get up and just walk two blocks to the Riverwalk. If we were tired we just walked back for a small breather. There are so many wonderfuls places to walk to. All of the staff were very warm and welcoming going out of their way to make your stay pleasant. We did get some muffins and cakes from their restaurant. They were really yummy! We will definitely come again and have already recommended it to friends. October 28, 2012

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Ask questions! The hotel is in a great location. It is cool and modern. My stay was for 5 days and I was there for business. My hotel room did not have a chest of drawers and the closet size was small. I prefer to unpack my clothes and because there was no where to put my folded items, I was not able to. I would go back to the hotel, but would ask for a larger room and ensure it has a chest of drawers. October 15, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by return visit This was our 2nd stay at the hotel. The king room was extremely small & it was not easy to get around the area. We were there for business & it was difficult to set up our work space & computers; definitely not big enough for 2 persons. The room is in need of repainting; there were black marks on several of the walls. The bath was good size w/nice large shower. However, the cleaning staff failed to clean the bath area as I found there was left over baby powder on the sink area after I had used it that morning. Also, the coffee maker was not emptied or cleaned; nor were the coffee mugs or glasses cleaned or replaced & the water in the ice bucket emptied. There was dust on the legs of the desk chair. I had requested extra pillows & though I received them, they did not have pillow cases on them. The size of the pillow is ridiculous & even if you use 3-4 , it still makes for a very uncomfortable bed. ( I know that many hotels have replaced regularly sized pillows w/ these smaller ones, but they are all terrible & uncomfortable. The view of the Alamo is lovely at nite & the location of the hotel is very convenient. I would stay again if there are larger rooms & the cleanliness & thoroughness of the housekeeping staff improved. The front desk staff & valet were friendly & professional. September 10, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The Best of San Antonio Located in the Heart of San Antonio, the Hotel Indigo Downtown Alamo was awesome. Close proximity to the Alamo and the San Antonio River Walk, making my stay in San Antonio that much more enjoyable. The rooms were well designed and comfortable, with great the beds that were so comfortable I didn't want to get up in the morning. All the staff from check-in to check out were friendly and professional. The bar staff made you feel like you were someone special and were personable and attentive. The Valet service was professional and convenient. I couldn't ask for better. July 23, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by DISAPOINTED WITH SERVICE Was not recongnized as a Platinum Member upon check-in. No upgrade was offered or mentioned. Valet parked and the valet told me to call 15 minutes prior to leaving to give him enough time to have my car ready. I called the day of departure at 6:50 a.m. and requested my car. I received my car at 7:30 a.m. 40 minutes to wait for valet was unexceptable. July 18, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible expereince My wife and I were staying at the hotel for our 21st wedding anniversary and were disappointed with the room. The room was very cramped, had no dresser, very loud clanking air conditioner, and ants. I requested a room change and being a Friday night the hotel was booked solid, and I was told that an engineer would come by and look at the AC and spray the bugs. To our knowledge, the room was not serviced. My guess was we got such a lousy room since I was using rewards points. July 17, 2012

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great location, hotel needs a little TLC. The location of this hotel is really great. It's right next to the Alamo and only a few blocks from the River Walk. All and all it served our needs but I felt it could use a little tender loving care. The rooms, while nice, were not up to what I would consider Hotel Indigo standards. I've stayed at quite a few other Hotel Indigos and found them much nicer than this property. Over all I don't have any major complaints but don't expect to be wowed. June 7, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Barking Dog The room was small but the problem was that the room next door had a chihuahua who whined during the night and then barked all morning and into the afternoon. We asked for another room at this location or another San Antonio location.Nothing was open. We asked the staff to let the owners know about the barking, A staff member even came to our room and heard the dog barking. We decided to leave after one night and stayed at another IHG hotel in the area.We liked the ambiance of the Hotel but would not choose to stay in a hotel that takes pets. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Staff goes the extra mile This is a great hotel if you love history and want to be close to the Alamo and San Antonio. My husband and I stayed there for our eight year anniversary. I checked in (it was a surprise for my husband) and they moved us up a few levels for a better view of the Alamo. They also took the champaign I brought with me and put it on ice, then brought it to the room with glasses! The decor and location are amazing. Super cool updated modern rooms! Well worth the money. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Older, refurbished, historic building in the heart of downtown. This 100+ year old converted office building has been somewhat tastefully converted into a hotel. Its location 1/2 block from, and facing the Alamo is perfect for those tourists seeking to be in the heart of everything San Antonio, form the Alamo to the Riverwalk to many downtown eateries. The hotel itself is quite comfortable, but lacks a swimming pool, hot tub, and significant lobby/public space. Its on-site restaurant was somewhere between success and business failure at the time of my stay in April '12, however nearby restaurants abound. The room was comfortable and very clean with a very modern rest room but no bathtub, only a shower. 37" LCD TV's, were in all rooms and furnishings were very modern VS period. Parking was off-site valet, or take your chances on finding a free place several blocks away. The hotel"s outstanding location and its comfort are its greatest selling points. June 6, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Area interesting hotel The area was walkable to everything and safe (single female traveling for business). I really loved the historical aspects of the hotel and rooms. That being said the hotel room was not very large, but that was fine for me. Interestingly the bathroom was huge! The staff was really nice especially the waiter during the breakfast at their restaurant. June 6, 2012
