It's a quick ride from our hotels in to the city center. Stroll along the promenade that links the city's archaeological highlights. Rising nearly 500 feet above , the Acropolis is crowned by the 2,500-year-old Doric Parthenon temple. The shiny new is a trove of Athenian treasures, where you can wander among sculptures of burly Greek gods and be swept back in time by the chariots of the Parthenon frieze. Nearby sits the ancient AgorÁ marketplace, where democracy was born. Before returning to your hotel, hike or take the funicular up to the conical peak of to see the sunset.

Shop for Athenian-style fashion in Ermou and Kolonaki, reviving over coffee and people-watching on . Your hotel is near the 19th-century Central Market in Monastiraki neighborhood-get here early for the freshest produce. For views of the Acropolis glowing gold on the hillside, find a taverna with alfresco seating in Plaka district. Greek favorites like moussaka and spinach pie go nicely with crisp Retsina wines. There are good-value pita souvlaki stands on almost every corner. The lively Psiri district is crammed with little ouzeries serving fiery ouzo liquor with mezedes (appetizers) and pumping DJ bars. Or end the day in Kolonaki's chic lounge bars.

Book one of our hotels in February for Greek-style carnival at Apokries or in summer for open-air music festivals galore. When temperatures soar, join locals at beaches like Glyfada for a refreshing dip in the sea.

Athens for the first time.
By Rich1515
The hotel is in a great location just outside city center. It had comfortable and clean rooms and AC worked great. As it was our first time in Greece and don’t speak Greek, we had the front desk many [More] many calls for us confirming tours and arraigning pick up at the hotel. They really did a great job helping us. Work out room and sauna were great and open 24 hours. We loved the pool on the roof and lounge chairs up there. Just wish the pool did not close at 7:00 ad we got back around that time from tours snd a refreshing dip in the pool would have been perfect:. [Less]

Front desk assistance
By Travelers18
Front desk employee said he could book a cruise for my party. He did but he booked the wrong cruise after we had shown him in the Briuchure which one to book. Front desk employee said he [More] could purchase the bus hopper tickets for my party. He did, but booked the Gray Line instead of the red double decker that we showed him in the brochure. The Gray Line first stop was much further from the hotel than the A3 stop for the red double decker service. 4 in our party lost over 60 euros because of this error. We went to A3 stop about 5 blocks from the hotel and presented our tickets to the driver and the driver of the red double decker bus informed us that the tickets were for the Gray line which was 5 more blocks further. We bought new tickets on the red double Decker bus. [Less]
