Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great location I was in Austin for a conference and the location and costs were perfect for my trip. Staff was wonderful - helpful and always pleasant. Excellent choice. May 29, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Business Again Have stayed at this location many times and find it to be an outstanding value; great staff and great location, with easy access to downtown, SOCO, and Rainey Street. May 29, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good pillows the pillows were great. It made sleeping easier even though the traffic noise was quite loud. May 29, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Location The hotel staff was very nice and cordial. The rooms are dated but I know that the hotel is going through a renovation. The hotel shuttle picked us up and dropped us up from the airport. The shuttle also took us to several places in downtown Austin, very convenient. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to Rainy Street for great food and entertainment. May 29, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not recommended - DO NOT STAY HERE Check-in long and not friendly. 4 staff at front desk and I was the only one being checked in and it took over 20 minutes and still did not have the right name. The room rate was not shown and hostess did not know the rate siad it is "hidden". After refusing to check-in until I the rate I was given am amount that was more than others in our party with a similar room.Verify rate charged as we were charged 3 times for our room - twice at a higher rate. Noisy in south tower due to repairs that started at 8:30 AM. Requested it be stoppoed with no assistance as work continued. 11th floor has foul smell. Hotel gounds are dirty an unkept. DO NOT STAY HERE. May 29, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Good Pillows but Long wait for check in 1) Our rooms were not ready by check-in time. In the end we ended up on another floor with rooms spread apart. 1 1/2 hour wait to get a room finally. 2) I finally get into my room and it was freezing. I like a cool room but it was just very cold. I tried to turn down the AC. Waited for a bit. Nothing. So I finally switched it to off mode, but it didn't even turned off at all. 3) The room was dim, especially the entrance and the shower/toilet area. 4) The vanity area was poorly cleaned. There were still some trash on the counter and the lotion bottle was very obviously half empty. The rolls of toilet paper were not full so I barely made it through my one-night stay without running out of toilet paper. There was only one trash can in the whole room and bathroom. Just one. 5) I could not pull the shower plug all the way up to start the shower in full mode. I tried to pull with both hands but was afraid that I might brake it so I had to shower with half the shower head running and the tub facet running at the same time. The shower/tub drain was extremely slow to drain too. Barely 5 minutes in and already the water was up to my ankles. With the experience so far, I didn't even want to contact the front desk to complain or change rooms. Since it was just for the night, I dealt with it. On a good note, I loved the all the pillows. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 2nd time at Holiday Town Lake This was our 2nd stay at the Holiday Town Lake. The location is excellent and the staff is friendly. The furnishings and carpets are showing their age, but it appears there is a renovation in progress. The hotel is located right on the hiking/biking trail along Lady Bird Lake, as well as easy access to I-35, and the trendy neighborhood on Rainey Street where there are bars, a few restaurants and food trucks. The price during Memorial Day weekend was nearly double the normal rate, so it's unlikely I would stay over a holiday weekend in the future. But during off-season, it's a great value. IHG should speed-up their renovations at this hotel, as Holiday Inn is a great alternative to the more expensive properties on S. Congress, etc. May 28, 2015
