Piazza Plebiscito
Piazza del Plebiscito, Napoli, 80100
Piazza Plebiscito is one of the largest squares in the city. It is named for the plebiscite taken on October 2 in 1860 that brought Naples into the unified Kingdom of Italy under the House of Savoy. It is bounded on the east by the Royal Palace and on the west by the church of San Francesco di Paola with colonnades extending to both sides. The church is reminiscent of the Pantheon in Rome.
Reggia di Caserta
Piazza Carlo III, Caserta, 81100
The Caserta Palace garden is now a park. Its main feature is an enormous series of fountains leading to an 82-metre-high waterfall fed by a specially built aqueduct. It is a very long walk from the palace to the waterfall, so you might want to take the bus back that goes up and down the park!
