Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Flagship for HIE We frequently stay in HIE hotels but this is by far and away the best of them. The improvements to the brand are very noticeable and effective. The lovely courtyard garden certainly made us want to return to enjoy this facility when it is complete. The changes make the hotel feel very airy and spacious. Only downside was the lack of attention to small details in the bathroom - nowhere to hang towels or clothes. The one rail was too close to the top to be able to hang anything on. May 12, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Edward A. Nicholls Canterbury Holiday Inn Express is comfortable and a handy base for touring the area. The staff are very good and respond to any request promptly. The two downsides of the hotel was road noise while in our room and chose of cooked breakfast. However we would use this hotel again when in this area. May 5, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Perfectly adequate hotel and stay The hotel complies with brand standards, you get what is expected of the chain. The rooms are clean and are the general areas. We had a room on the 2nd floor (No Lift), it was very quiet, the shower was good plenty of hot water. As my mother is 82 I did ask for a ground floor on arrival, my fault I had not realized or appreciated that there was not a lift or I would of put the request in on booking. But all the down stairs room had been allocated so we had to struggle up the stairs with our cases, no help was offered. Breakfast was a nightmare, the restaurant was so busy we could not get a table and had to sit in the lounge and eat from a coffee table. The pastries were hard and dry and we could not eat them. The hot food was fine, with plenty of top ups as things were being taken. One of the drinks machines was playing up and a member of staff was vainly trying to repair it, so there was only one hot drink machine working. There were 2 meeting room doors open and I think one of them might of been set up as an overflow dining area, but as there was no signs to say or staff to tell us we did not venture into the room. The hotel is based on the outskirts and not near anything else except a service station. The restaurant in the evening also gets busy as there is no where else to go. On arrival into our room it was like a fridge, the day was cold and wet as well, so to arrive into a cold room was not the best welcome. We contacted reception and the receptionist came up and put the heating on for us. It took about 30 minutes to warm up but was then fine. Internet was fine and the TV was also adequate for our needs. Tea and Coffee in the room and if you run out reception are more than happy for you to pop down and restock. April 29, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Canterbury Tales at the Inn I really enjoyed the break with my friend. Neither of us had been to Canterbury before. The Holiday Inn though not in the City Centre was accessible by a 20 minute Bus journey from Canterbury City Centre. We managed to travel on public transport, however on a rainy day which we experienced during our stay I would have preferred having my vehicle as we had to do a 10-15 minute walk to the hotel. Please don't wear high heels, if like us you are without your own transport :-) Apart from the distance of the hotel from the City Centre the stay at the hotel was very pleasant with adequate amenities to keep us comfortable with only good Canterbury tales to take home with us. Thank you to the staff member who assisted us with finding our way to the hotel on our first night when we magically met you on the bus. You were an Angel. Thank you all the staff for making our stay a welcome break and providing us with a room at the Inn. April 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Value Overnight Stop We had an excellent value Wowcher deal. The hotel is clean and well-equipped. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Dinner was good and excellent value. Breakfast was OK (sausage and scrambled egg not good but plenty of continental style choice). The room was comfortable, even though the furnishings were a little past their best. Next to a main road so there is some road noise, but it didn’t prevent us sleeping.
