While staying at the InterContinental Montréal, begin your day at Osco! Restaurant with a delicious Provencal style breakfast buffet. The hotel is ideally located, at the gateway of downtown and Old-Montreal, only a few blocks away from Bota Bota, your next destination. Anchored in the Old Port of Montreal, this floating spa offers its passengers the healing benefits of a spa while being lulled by the natural movements of the St Lawrence River. For a few hours, you will enjoy the various spa installations with Old Montreal as a magical backdrop: two saunas with incredible views onto the river and the city, a eucalyptus steam bath, outdoor whirlpool baths, cold showers and baths, as well as relaxation areas. If you are a bit of a foodie, you may want to go on a Food tour which will combine history and culinary experience. Choose between the Old Montreal or the Mile-End tour where you might have the chance to try a famous Montreal bagel or bite into a tasty smoked meat sandwich. If you are more interested by museums we recommend the beautiful Fine Arts museum or Pointe-à-Callière. This archaeological museum brings alive the fascinating history of the city and is built directly on an archaeological site!

Upon your return at the InterContinental Montréal, you will discover the ritual of absinthe in the Green Fairy Alcoves and enjoy a variety of flavorful Provencal hors-d’oeuvres. Absinthe, an herb-based spirit containing 55 to 75% alcohol, is renowned for enhancing the creative energies of the great 19th century European writers and artists. Dubbed the green fairy, it is served at the green hour and it still captures the creative imagination with its legend for mind-altering effects.

If you have already tried Osco for dinner, let us direct you to some of our favorite restaurants. You did not have the time to visit Notre-Dame Basilica during the day? Book a ticket for Aura, a unique immersive experience in the heart of the Basilica, designed by the renowned Moment Factory team. Maybe a jazz bar might interest you? Also we are less than 10 minute walk from the Theater district and Place des festivals. Ask us if the Symphonic Orchestra or Grands Ballets are in town or if there is any festival at the moment. We have so many… Just for laugh, Jazz, Circus, Mural and so many more! For a last drink, ask your concierge about those hidden bars… But don’t spread the word... shh!

  • Festivals

We play host to numerous events all year long, ranging from music to comedy to art to film to sports to fashion. Major events include the International Jazz Festival, the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival and the FrancoFolies, to name but a few festival attractions. Other equally popular summer crowd-pleasers include the elite Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada and the explosive International des Feux Loto-Québec, a fireworks competition that lights up the Montréal night skies all summer long. Our festival fervour continues through the winter with the Montreal en Lumière festival, a celebration of gastronomy arts and music that warms the soul in chilly temperatures.

  • Language

Quebec, the Province in which Montreal is located, is the largest French-speaking territory in North America. English, however, is widely spoken in Montreal.

  • Parc Jean-Drapeau

Spanning two islands in the middle of the St. Lawrence River, the Parc Jean-Drapeau is home to a multitude of facilities and recreational opportunities. This green oasis is a haven for sports, recreation, nature and culture. A network of multi-disciplinary trails–25 km (15 miles) of which are cycling paths–wind through a lush natural setting accentuated throughout by valuable public artworks and open up to magnificent panoramas of the river and the adjacent downtown skyline. Come summer, the park offers a beach, three heated outdoor pools, La Ronde amusement park, two museums and a casino. This exceptional location hosts a variety of festivals and events all year long.
