Featured Asheville Hotels

Book a stay in our Holiday Inn Express® Asheville hotels, and explore this Carolina highlands city, set amid the scenic splendor of the Blue Ridge and Great Smoky Mountains and home to the Biltmore Estate.

During the Gilded Age, the Vanderbilts were so smitten with the beauty of the highlands that they built a house here-an eye-popping 250-room French chateau, to be exact. Now open to the public in all its marbled glory, the Biltmore Estate is conveniently close to our Asheville hotels. Bookworms flock to Old Kentucky Home, the butter-yellow Victorian boardinghouse nearby, where writer Thomas Wolfe grew up.
Pressed for time? Hit the highlights on the budget-friendly 90-minute trolley tour of the city sights.

Our hotels in Asheville are close to the city's percolating restaurant scene. Dine casually on hearty bistro grub in a downtown brewpub and sip a sudsy microbrew crafted here in the city. Or sample "New South" kitchens, where Southern classics are creatively tweaked-like fried chicken in a crunchy crust of mixed nuts. Head to the Friday-night drum circle in downtown Pritchard Park, and stomp your feet to the beat (for free). As a gateway to the mountains, Asheville is a great place to shop for Appalachian pottery and other reasonably priced local crafts.

No matter what season you stay in our Asheville hotels, you're never far from splendid highlands scenery. In spring granite peaks are blanketed in scarlet rhododendron. In fall forests along the Blue Ridge Parkway blaze in yellows and reds. Mountain streams cascade down sunny hillsides in summer. During winter holidays Biltmore is decorated tip to toe in dried roses from its summer gardens.

Stay at our Holiday Inn Express Asheville hotels to discover the charms of this easygoing mountain beauty and its array of excellent, affordable eateries.

Great property, clean and comfortable
After a long day of hiking at Dupont Forest, settled down at the Brevard Holiday Inn Express for some R [Less]
Overall good place to stay
By L3drums
Good breakfast. Good, friendly staff. The breakfast lady was pretty on top of keeping things neat and fully stocked. Very friendly also as she also walked around asking people how the food [More] is. They were booked solid, and we heard a lot of stomping from the people above us. Since they were completely booked, we couldn't get our room changed when we had a slight problem. Staff did apologize and make a note, but that was it. We paid the same fee and stayed in the room. Bed was ok. Overall clean. Would probably stay here again for the price. [Less]

Great service and breakfast.
By Mimi of three
As a woman traveling alone, I felt this hotel was well lit and safe. The lobby and breakfast area were very attractive. The room was attractive and classy with nice colors and a mini-fridge. The TV [More] was user friendly with channel lineup on nightstand. Bathroom was attractive with large mirror and vanity. This is one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. Check-in and check-out was fast with very friendly and courteous staff. I loved that they had an ice machine on every floor. Good mix of hot and cold items for breakfast with my favorites, hot cinnamon rolls, pancakes with butter and syrup, eggs and sausage, juices, milk, cereal and fruit and other items. [Less]
Enjoyed our stay; needs to update linens
By Pokeyann
Overall our stay was great. I have dietary restrictions (no grains), the breakfast had enough variety that I was able to have a great breakfast without having to use my food stash I travel with. The [More] weekend morning's of our stay, there seemed to be issues with keeping the breakfast stocked fast enough. The staff working on this were clearly agitated. This didn't affect us personally other than trying to stay clear of the grumpy staff. That being said, I really was grateful for the variety offered. I specifically booked a Holiday Inn Express based on a recent stay at another one that had excellent pillows and linens. I was disappointed that the linens and pillows at this location need to be replaced, the linens specifically are very worn. There was no discernible difference between the "firm" and "soft" pillows. The pillows were king size, which is always nice to go along with the king size bed. The bed itself was comfortable. We usually bring our own pillows when traveling, but didn't because of the expectation of great ones that were actually king size. We regretted not bringing our own. The room was very clean...even the corners and the fan in the bathroom. I rated the overall hotel cleanliness a bit lower because unfortunately there was a very bad odor on the first floor in the hall out to the parking lot...I'm assuming this is temporary and possibly guest caused with a in room microwaved meal gone badly? Again I was very impressed with the rooms cleanliness. The front desk staff were courteous and we were checked in and out quickly. A very minor hiccup was at check in and not being told the internet password/log in was written on our key card envelope. We easily figured it out, like I said minor but took us a moment to think through where this info would be. The day of check out we were not able to log in anymore, I would have assumed the code would work until check out time. The location was convenient to everywhere we wanted to go. Overall we enjoyed our stay and if the linens and pillows are updated we would return if we ever get up that way again. [Less]
Girl's Trip!
By RSDexter
We did not just come to Asheville to visit the Biltmore so we chose to stay in this location for access to other places. The hotel is easy to get to, very clean, and the front desk staff were very [More] friendly. A bonus was the outlet mall right across the road. I only had two issues with the room - the drapes are not made in such a way as to black out all light. There was a street light in the parking lot that shone into our room ALL night so every time my eyes opened, I thought it was 7 AM. Not very restful. I also asked for a rollaway. That mattress was horrible, even for a rollaway. The breakfast was as expected and filled an empty stomach, nothing more. On the plus side, the cleanliness, friendliness of staff, location, and price far out weighed the room issues. The wifi was ok for everything except facetiming. I would stay here again, without the rollaway!!!! [Less]
