Old Town Düsseldorf
Altstadt District, 40213 Düsseldorf
The narrow, brick-paved streets of Old Town Düsseldorf will immediately grab your attention. Although the Old Town district is small, extending just over a square mile in total, it has plenty of bars, discos, restaurants and museums to enjoy. Take a stroll and enjoy the unique architecture of the historic churches or grab a cold drink from one of the authentic German pubs. Sudbrucke Bridge
Ernst-Weyden-Straße 1, 51105 Köln
The Südbrücke Bridge, also sometimes referred to as the South Bridge, connects South Düsseldorf with nearby Neuss. The bridge was designed and built sometime in the mid-20th century to connect each of the districts. It was not only important for improving transportation throughout the area, but it was also the first heavy-weight bridge in all of Düsseldorf. Although the bridge was built over 50 years ago, it is still just as impressive to look at with its unique architecture and careful attention to design. For a unique view, make sure you check out the Südbrücke Bridge in the evening.
Burgplatz
Burgplatz was once the castle to the Count of Berg and then the Dukes of Julich. The castle, unfortunately, was damaged in an explosion during the 1800s. Although only a portion of the Burgplatz castle remains today, its tower offers breathtaking views of the Basilica St. Lambertus and the Oberkasseler Bridge. You will also find the SchifffahrtMuseum, a shipping museum, located within the castle tower. There is also a large Ferris wheel that overlooks the nearby promenade.
EKŌ-House of Japanese Culture
Brüggener Weg 6, 40547 Düsseldorf
The EKŌ-House of Japanese Culture was built in 1988 by Yehan Numata, the famous founder of the "Society for Buddhist Understanding." The culture center was built to accommodate the large and growing population of the Japanese culture in Düsseldorf. The center hosts many events that will allow you to learn about and participate in Japanese culture through calligraphy, dancing, cooking and film presentation. You can also sign up for a guided tour of the Japanese Culture Center.
The Embankment Promenade
Unnamed Road, 40213, Düsseldorf
You can take a stroll along the Rhine River on the Rhine Embankment Promenade. Certainly one of the most beautiful spots in all of Düsseldorf, it lets you explore the best restaurants, boutiques and pubs in Düsseldorf while also taking in views of the Rhine River. The promenade runs from Old Town to the modern district of Düsseldorf, MedienHafen. If you prefer to spend time on the river, you can sign up for a boat cruise. There are many different types of boat rides available including brunch and evening rides, as well as boat tours that will take you to nearby districts.

There are also many shaded trees which offer a nice retreat on a sunny day. Within Nordpark, you will also find the Aquazoo Löbbecke Museum which has 25 different themed rooms of local aquatic life.
Dusseldorf Fountains
Neckereibrunnen, 40213 Düsseldorf
Fountains have become a prominent and recognizable symbol of Düsseldorf. The Mackbrunnen Fountain contains three triangles, each of which represents each of the partitions of Germany. The Radschlagerbrunnen Fountain is also often referred to as the Cartwheel Fountain because it features young children doing cartwheels. Cartwheels have become a celebratory custom in Düsseldorf as young children used to show off with cartwheels in the same location over 50 years ago. The Musikbrunnen Fountain (The Fountain of Music) is an extravagant artistic design with flowing fountains and sculptures throughout. These fountains have become a popular place for meeting with friends or capturing photographs.
