Featured Munich Hotels

Munich, capital of the beautiful southern German province of Bavaria, is a fascinating mix of the modern and the traditional. With a history stretching back to the eighth century, today you find traditional culture and contemporary living hand in hand, while modern and medieval architecture stand side by side. Munich is only 30 miles from the Alps, and though it was heavily damaged during World War II, its historic Old Town has undergone extensive renovations and contains many architectural points of interest and memorable Germany hotels.
follow the path of the prisoner, and see the original prisoner quarters and the crematorium, along with many exhibitions and memorials.
Munich is renowned for its beer halls. Most brew their own beer, and the visiting connoisseur has nearly unlimited choices. Visit the Wesses Brauhaus, which has been around since the 19th-century, and sample beers whose descriptions range from refreshing like a dance in a summer breeze to relaxing moments by the fire. Or try the
Hofbrauhaus
, the world's oldest beer hall. For food rather than drink, wander the stalls of the Viktualienmarket, Munich's outdoor farmer's market. With over 140 booths offering local food, flowers, and spices, you're sure to find something which captures your fancy.
The English Garden is Munich's biggest park and one of its prime tourist attractions. It's bigger than New York's Central Park, and offers paddle boats for the water, woodland paths, and even beer gardens.
If museums are more your speed, Munich has many to offer.
The German Museum
is unique, in that it's located on an island in the Isar River. It's a museum of science and technology, and boasts intriguing historical artifacts, like the world's first electric dynamo and the first car. Munich is also home to one of the oldest art galleries in the world, the Alte Pinakothek, which houses over 800 masterpieces from the Middle Ages.

Latest Munich Hotel Reviews

convenient location, small beds
By Danzi
Pros: - Location next to S-Bahn and Bus = 7 minutes to city center - new hotel, clean and functional Cons: - Parking too expensive (18 Euro/day) - Beds are too small - Typical Holiday-Inn [More] breakfast (which has room for improvement) [Less]
Comfortable Stay
By wurzelsepp
We had a 3 nights stay and we enjoyed the breakfast as well the good location near to the S-Bahn which was very convenient to travel to the City Center. Staff was very friendly and the rooms had a [More] very good standard compare to other Holiday Inn Express. [Less]
New hotel well situated
By Ajax99
Had a room overlooking the railway lines - liked this, and only 50 metres from S-bahn. S-bahn to Munich Centre and return every 2-3 minutes. Room was well sound proofed and with dark curtains for [More] sleep. Breakfast was good with good choices. [Less]
Easter Weekend
By Nub1
The hotel was clean and service was as expected at Holiday Inn Express. The only complaint I had was that the rooms were warm and the air-conditioner did not work due to a seasonal restriction on [More] turning it on. I also believe that the airport shuttle should be free of charge where here it cost five euros per person. There was a large group of youth footballers staying at the hotel and the staff did a good job of notifying the other guests of that group and provided a means to rectify problems caused by them. The last comment that I have is a "welcome to Europe" statement of don't expect any ice machines. Bavaria is known for its a beer but we were not able to cool it down with ice or a mini fridge. Remarkable value for bed close to airport
By ajuliaw65
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Munich with my mother and two kids for one night before we drove down to Oberammergau for the rest of our holiday. The hotel is close the airport (5 euros in the [More] shuttle bus per adult, kids free, or 20 euros in a taxi). The room was good though small for four of us. The problems were only three plug points (so one phone, mine, did not get charged) and the bathroom had a strong smell of urine. But otherwise all fine and with breakfast included all for a very reasonable price, incredible value. The reception staff were helpful and directed us into Munich and then to the car hire desk we needed. Thanks very much. I'll definitely consider Holiday Inns for future city breaks. [Less]
Excellent location near Airport for overnight stay
By Tejas
Excellent stay at the Hotel. No complaints. Just that the points related to our stay could not be added on my IHG Rewards Membership as the booking was not done directly from the IHG Website. This [More] was something I was not aware off, so lost out on the points. [Less]
Wonderful Stay!
By MKerk
The location is incredible, and so is the staff. I highly recommend a high floor, city view. It's worth the extra money. [Less]
Great stay at Holiday Inn Munich - City Centre
By Cathy
I love staying at this hotel, conveniently located at the Rosenheimer Platz S-Bahn stop. Very convenient location, and underground shops/restaurants. The staff is very friendly and the hotel is [More] well-run. Great ambiance in the lobby area/sports bar. My only complaint would be that the elevator is still broken (as it was 2 months ago when I stayed there), which means that going to/from the S-Bahn I had to carry my luggage up/down a set of stairs. Seems they should be able to fix that. Loved the breakfast, and again the staff is great - they make it very easy/convenient to stay there. [Less]
Great location and amazing breakfast
By mbergy
The beds were twins but that seems to be common for double rooms. The location was right on the s bahn and super convenient [Less]
