Featured Veracruz Hotels

Stay at one of our Holiday Inn® Veracruz hotels to experience Mexico's steamy music capital. Discover the Zócalo, an open square that draws musicians playing swinging Mexican rhythms and Veracruzano locals eager to dance.

Our hotels in Veracruz are near the malécon, the city's oceanfront walk along the Gulf of Mexico. Many Veracruzanos start their day on the malécon at Café de la Parroquia. You can easily spend a languid tropical morning here over several cups of café lechero, a dark coffee served with steamed milk. One of the few remaining buildings from Veracruz's past is the Fort of San Juan Ulúa, perched on a spit of land stretching into the sea. The wind-battered fort originally defended Veracruz against pirates, but during the 19th century it was notorious as one of the harshest jails in Mexico. Catch a cab from our hotels in Veracruz to the Aquarium. Kids love the glow-in-the-dark jellyfish and walking the submerged glass hallway through the shark habitat.

Guests of our Veracruz hotels enjoy evenings in festive Zócalo square, surrounded by alfresco cafes and the main Cathedral. Every night the square fills with bands playing the sweet xylophone of marimba and driving cajón drum of Son Jarocho for couples dancing among the palm trees. Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday nights feature danzón, classic Cuban big band music, in front of the adjacent Municipal Building. Dine on huachinango ala veracruzana, the city's signature red snapper filet covered in chunky tomato salsa, in one of the Zócalo's restaurants and dance long into the warm tropical night.

Book our hotels in Veracruz in March for the wild parades and colorful costumes of Carnaval-although in this city, the rhythm never stops.

Perfect getaway
By RobbieF
I spent four nights at the Hotel Indigo Veracruz, and every one of them was perfect. The hotel is very nicely decorated, the rooms nicely designed, the bed luxurious and very comfortable. My room [More] was quiet which I greatly appreciated. The hotel has a nice a pool with pleasant surroundings. The restaurant served excellent food, although the breakfast buffet was over-priced and lacking in options. If you want breakfast, order from the menu and skip the buffet. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning. [Less]
