Good clean rooms, ideal location, fantastic staff

I’ve visited Bochum last year at another hotel (not impressed) as it was near to trains to Gelsenkirchen for a concert at VELTINS-Arena. So this year I booked Holiday Inn Express and I was SO impressed - clean, elegant, very friendly staff and well appointed rooms. It was a short walk to the station. I was travelling with friends and they were delighted with their accommodation.
We will definitely be looking forward to returning to this hotel.

Herr Rahm ist ein hervorragender Ansprechpartner für das Hotel. Wenn man Fragen hat, beantwortet er sie immer freundlich, professionell und sachlich. An der Rezeption gibt es ein sehr leckeres Frühstück. Am besten schmecken mir die Vanillebrötchen, von denen es leider häufig nicht mehr genug gibt.
Das Zimmer ist sehr gut ausgestattet, alles ist neu und sauber. Ich habe sehr gut geschlafen!

schönes neues sehr sauberes Hotel. Alles vorhanden, was man benötigt. Öffentliches Parkhaus "darunter" zu super guten Preisen. Sollte mich mein Weg noch einmal nach Bochum führen, übernachte ich gerne erneut hier.

The room had mostly all we needed, and was located within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. Our biggest complaint is the complete lack of hooks/hangers for towels, yet they ask to hang towels for reuse. Put up some towel bars or at least some hooks in the bathroom! The courtyard noise did loudly echo a bit, which meant no window open at night, but it was quiet enough with the window closed.

Vom 03.04.-04.04. habe ich eine Nacht im Hotel verbracht. Die Ankunft war spät in der Nacht und verlief problemlos. Die Zimmer sind ruhig und sauber. Gerne wieder! :)

I really enjoyed the stay in the hotel. Unfortunately, the AC didn’t work properly, that’s why I can not give full stars.
The IHG staff was really friendly and forthcoming. Big big thanks and special thanks to Gina, she was super friendly and helped with my stay. I would highly recommend this hotel

This is a great place to stay near the train station and close to good restaurants some of which serve very healthy portions.

A typical Holiday Inn Express hotel, basic but clean and ideal for a short one or two night stay. Breakfast is ok. Rooms are fine and everywhere is very clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Good secure parking nearby.
There are two caveats to highlight:
i) Very difficult to find the hotel with no local signage. The address is not accurate and I had to be "talked down" by a member of staff to find the building.
ii) Room cleaning, it was disappointing to see the hotel adopt the policy of not cleaning rooms unless requested, an obvious cost cutting measure that always makes a hotel look cheap.

Uns hat es in dem Hotel gut gefallen.
Freundliches Personal, moderne Ausstattung und ein üppiges Frühstück stehen bereit.
Leider waren die Matratzen nicht zu unserer Zufriedenheit und es war keine Kühlmöglichkeit auf dem Zimmer vorhanden.
