Convenient location and well maintained

This is a great place to stay near the train station and close to good restaurants some of which serve very healthy portions.
Good, new hotel, difficult to find

A typical Holiday Inn Express hotel, basic but clean and ideal for a short one or two night stay. Breakfast is ok. Rooms are fine and everywhere is very clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Good secure parking nearby.
There are two caveats to highlight:
i) Very difficult to find the hotel with no local signage. The address is not accurate and I had to be "talked down" by a member of staff to find the building.
ii) Room cleaning, it was disappointing to see the hotel adopt the policy of not cleaning rooms unless requested, an obvious cost cutting measure that always makes a hotel look cheap.

Uns hat es in dem Hotel gut gefallen.
Freundliches Personal, moderne Ausstattung und ein üppiges Frühstück stehen bereit.
Leider waren die Matratzen nicht zu unserer Zufriedenheit und es war keine Kühlmöglichkeit auf dem Zimmer vorhanden.

Hatte Zimmer für mich und meine Frau für zwei Nächte gebucht. Als wir am späten Nachmittag anreisten war meine Buchung vom Hotelleiter storniert worden. Jedoch hatte er es nicht für nötig gehalten mich zu verständigen. Zusätzlich hatte man zu erst kein Zimmer für uns für zwei Nächte. Wie könnten nur eine Nacht erhalten. Am nächsten Tag wurde dann das Problem vom stellv. Leiter sehr schnell gelöst und der Fehler beseitigt, so dass wir zufrieden sind. Aber den Ärger hätte man uns ersparen können.

Recently returned from my second stay at HIX in Bochum, and thought everything went as planned.
Check in was swift and friendly, once again a quiet room on the fourth floor, away from the lifts, suited me with a comfy bed, hardly heard a thing and slept well.
The breakfast, as I mentioned in my last review, was okay however all a bit ,,samey". Like I mentioned previously, it would be good to see not just this HIX but others change it up every now and again. 4 nights with the same items every morning can get a bit boring, however the service was good, staff seemed friendly enough although quite busy.
Check out too was smooth, and the Mitarbeiterin on the morning of the 25th Oct very smiley and chatty.

My husband and I enjoyed so much our stay at the hotel. from the first minute we checked in till we left. Very friendly staff. the room size is great. Very comfortable and very clean. breakfast was very good as well. the Location of the Hotel is excellent in the city center and having the parking in the same building made our stay even more enjoyable.
Would highly recommend the hotel and will come for sure again.

I’ve been into many Holiday Inn Express hotels around the world, and this one in Bochum is the best one so far. Quiet awesome location in the heart of Bochum, nice breakfast and amazing rooms. Personnel are amazing. Initially I was staying for one night, but I loved it so much that I decided to stay another night.
