In Italy’s economic hub, you can expect to see plenty of smartly dressed bankers heading to and from large trading houses and banks, but don’t let their buttoned-up appearances fool you: Milan is a lot more than just an economic center. It is the center of Italy’s vibrant design culture—furniture, fashion, and the graphic arts all flourish in this city that fairly pulses with creative energy. With numerous IHG hotels in Milan from which to choose, your nights will be just as full of glamor and style as your days.
Home to some of the world’s most glamorous brands, including Prada, Versace, and Armani, you may feel as if you have stumbled inside the pages of a fashion magazine when you arrive in this stimulating city. If you dream of strutting down the catwalk (or at least dressing like you are), you won’t want to miss indulging in that most Milanese of past-times: window-shopping. Take a stroll through the Quadrilatero d’Oro (Golden Quad), where fashion luminaries have made history—and divine shoes—for generations. After you’ve feasted your eyes on the latest handbags and to-die-for silk numbers, turn your attention to a feast of a different type; Milanese bars and restaurants are known for their aparetivi, long, sumptuous happy hours offering up platters of cheese, meats, and other tasty treats.
While Milan has its finger on the pulse of the new and noteworthy, it also has history to explore in spades. Soak up the culture with a visit to the Civica Galleria d’Arte Moderna, which boasts an impressive collection of 19th and 20th century art and served as Napoleon’s Milanese home base. You’ll also want to be sure you allot time for scoping out the flying buttresses and Gothic splendor of both the Duomo and Sforzesco Castle. Milan hotels are brimming with information about the latest gallery openings and museum hours.

Restaurant offered a good choice, with either a buffet service or al a carte. I was greeted each evening by a very helpful and welcoming waitress and was able to relax in a pleasant environment after a stressful day and enjoy a good book and a great bottle of wine before heading to a very comfortable bed and a great nights sleep.
As a regular swimmer my only regret was that pool was not available, but I guess as it is open air it would have been rather cold at this time of year !! [Less]
