Me and my wife spent one weekend night there on a short vacation in Nov. I compare with other Holiday Inn places, which I know well as I travel a lot.
This hotel is above average for Holiday Inn in
the US. Not new, but not old either, in need of refreshment. Location is nice, sleeping is very good, rooms are clean and comfortable, parking no problem. We did not eat in the hotel, down the Market street is a great breakfast place, an Omelet House with 40years history.
The only 2 items I would remark on, which do not change the experience that much:
- one of the elevators was out of order, the other was extremely slow
- the evening cleaning staff had left a bag in front of the elevator, which had leaked; by 11am time we checked out next morning, it was still not cleaned up
Would I recommend the place? Yes, I would. Very friendly and flawless. Strategic location for a short Wilmington vacation - downtown, historic cemetery, gardens, etc. 35mins to Port Fisher. [Less]
