Featured Newcastle Upon Tyne Hotels

We have several Newcastle budget hotels spread across and around the city. These include a hotel near the Metrocentre and hotels in central locations too.

Newcastle is the economic hub of the North East, sitting on the River Tyne just 8 miles from the North Sea. It's a popular city for party animals and museumgoers alike. Some of Newcastle's most well-known landmarks include the impressive Tyne Bridge, Millennium Bridge and Grey's Monument.

The city is also home to almost 10 museums and galleries. There's the Great North Museum, the Discovery Museum and the Stephenson Railway Museum, to name just a few.

The city attracts thousands of shoppers each weekend. The Eldon Square shopping centre in the Newcastle city centre houses a number of high street brands. If you venture out of town, you can visit the massive Metrocentre, which, in addition to its hundreds of shops, has its own indoor funfair! The Grainger Market is open 7 days a week and has food stalls, cafes, souvenir stands, household goods and fashion stalls too.

Think Newcastle and you undoubtedly think of the black and white stripes of Newcastle Football club, whose stadium is in the heart of the city centre. Newcastle also has a horse racing course as well as a dog racing track.

With its own airport, Newcastle has direct links to a number of UK cities. It's also on the East Coast mainline, connecting the city with London by rail in around 3 hours.

This is a city that always welcomes its visitors with open arms. Stay at one of our Newcastle budget hotels to enjoy the city's many attractions without spending a fortune.

Good quality hotel with amenities and pleasant atmosphere
By Dr Hugbine
As usual the hotel was useful and pleasant, providing a working base and a reasonable night's sleep, only slightly interrupted by noisy neighbours. [Less]
Excellent staff and hotel stay as always

As always this hotel and staff did not let us down. Well done to all at Hotel Indigo Newcastle. See you soon... [Less]
Luxuriously comfortable stop off
By happymelv
I had booked this room on behalf of my parents after booking tickets for them to see the Strictly Come Dancing Live Show at the Metro Radio Arena. Both parent work within the hotel industry and they [More] spoke highly of the hotel and it's services. They did feel the hotel was pricey, but expected it due to it's location and it's age. My mother, who is normally scared of heights, was initially apprehensive being put on the 5th floor but did enjoy the window scenery afforded to it being higher up. Overall a lovely stay and would highly recommend returning to make better use of it's facilities. [Less]
Great room - admin and service issues
By Honey Monster
There was an issue with reservations as I had prepaid the rooms but this had not registered on the system- turned out I had overpaid and await this refund. Desk staff struggled to sort this. Bar [More] service very poor as one staff member unable to cope with number of guests requiring service so we had to look elsewhere for food and drink. Room comfort and facilities excellent and breakfast also really good. [Less]
very comfortable
By JuCl
really comfortable beds and soft bedding - lovely airy room and very helpful staff. Chocolate, fresh water and an aromatherapy sleep kit really helped me to sleep well and feel comfortable. [Less]
Friendly welcome
By Quilt67
Typical friendly "Geordie" welcome. I require a room with disabled facilities and this was reserved at our previous visit (1 week earlier) without my having to ask for it. The local eateries were [More] pointed out to us with an offer to reserve a table if needed in future. [Less]
