Make yourself at home in our Holiday Inn Express® hotels in Puebla, Mexico. In no time you'll be climbing the Great Pyramid of Cholula and savoring the rich flavors of mole poblano, the city's legendary dish.

Guests at our hotels in Puebla can explore this walkable UNESCO World Heritage Site from the city's main square, Plaza de la Constitución, lined with pastel-colored colonial buildings decked in intricate Talavera tile. The centerpiece of the square is the massive baroque Cathedral. The streets spreading out from the plaza lead to the Amparo Museum, its fine collection of pre-Columbian art housed in a restored historic mansion. Nearby is Santo Domingo Church, a glittering treasure trove of gilded altars and statues.

Puebla has many Talavera workshops where visitors can watch potters make plates, vases and tiles. The distinctive cobalt-blue pottery overflows from the city's shops and El PariÁn artisans' market. Our hotels in Puebla are close to the city's best traditional restaurants, tucked away on the quiet streets of the historic quarter. Order a plate of chicken or turkey smothered in mole poblano, Puebla's famous thick, smoky sauce. Grab an outdoor cafe table for an evening on Plaza de Santa Inés, where strolling mariachi bands play Mexico's traditional love songs. After a good night's sleep in one of our Puebla hotels, head to the Great Pyramid of Cholula, the ruins of the world's largest pyramid. A platform near the pyramid offers a postcard-perfect view of a yellow church perched atop grass-covered ruins, with the snow-covered Popocatépetl volcano looming behind.

Stay at our hotels in Puebla to appreciate the city's central role in the history and culture of Mexico, from its glory days as the seat of pre-Columbian civilization to its 16th-century cultivation of Talavera artisans.

I've stayed at this Hotel three times and I really enjoyed each time. The room is big, the staff is friendly, the facilities are great and the food is very good. Perfect view of the Volcano from [More] my room (Traveler tip, if you want a quieter room, always book a room with the Volcano view). Overall a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone, for both Business or leisure. [Less]
Holiday Inn Puebla Finsa Review

Excellent and courteous staff from the main desk, restaurant, and housekeeping. The rooms are spacious and always clean. My only complaint is the road noise that prevails even when the windows are [More] closed. [Less]
Great staff, good value

the Presidente Intercontinental Puebla is a very nice hotel, a good value, with a superb staff. My only complaint is that the location could be more convenient, but taxis and Uber are easy and cheap. [Less]
So close to perfection
By Over Easy
I have many good things to say about the Presidente Puebla: the hotel staff, from the front desk to the restaurants to housekeeping to the concierge to the Intercontinental Club, is superb. The [More] entire hotel industry could benefit from observing and learning from these employees. They are easygoing and friendly, yet respectful, kind, and knowledgeable. The food in the restaurants is delicious and reasonably priced, and offers a good variety. I love that the hotel heats the pool to just the perfect temperature and that the pool area is well maintained. The rooms are nice - some are quite beautiful while others are rather ordinary, but the beds are heavenly, so comfortable, in fact, that I easy could have spent a totally hedonistic weekend simply in bed. That would have been a shame since then I would have missed the extraordinary historic center of Puebla. The hotel lobby is sumptuous, more art gallery than lobby, and draws you in to spend time there to linger, enjoy the art, and just relax. Unfortunately there were a few things that blemished the whole experience. First off, I arrived very late (after midnight). The young man working the front desk was nice, but not very helpful nor knowledgeable. After getting pat and incorrect answers to my questions, I gave up. I figured it was better to wait until morning to ask any more questions. Secondly, I was upgraded to a club level room, which I appreciate, but as a platinum Ambassador, I would have thought that a nicer room would have been made available to me. Mine was okay, but it overlooked an empty lot and a street, so opening the doors to the juliet balcony was not something pleasant. I don’t know for certain, but there seemed to be much nicer rooms that went empty during my stay. Finally, the hotel’s WIFI is barely usable. If all you’re doing is reading emails, you’ll be okay, but if there is ANYTHING else you want to do, you can forget about it. I got so frustrated with the WIFI I finally gave up and used my data, which adds a significant cost to my stay. The unacceptable WIFI is why I have a hard time recommending this property. After all, it’s 2018 and WIFI is essential to many of us. [Less]
I love IHG
By SomeJoeGuy
I don’t think I’ve ever been dissatisfied with an IHG hotel and this was no exception. All of my expectations were met or exceeded. The third floor lounge was outstanding. After a long day and [More] getting back to my room late I was surprised that I could still order room service at 23:30. I never did come across an ATM, but I actually never ended up needling one. I had enough cash left over from my last visit. Definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone. [Less]
