Call ahead if you want a certain room type.
Typical H.I. Express experience and, for me, that usually means "a good stay and a good sleep".
These guys fell a bit short. The price was quite high for a Friday stay--turns out there was an
event in town so the prices were raised. I suppose I won't fault them for that.
The only disappoint for me was that they did not honor the room type I requested. The Holiday Inn reservation system goes out of its way to ask you if you want a room by the elevator or not, etc. On top of this, I always enter something in the notes to make sure I don't get a room I don't want. These guys apparently ignored all that.
There is absolutely no reason for that--they already took payment for the room the day before, so they should be clever enough to try to fulfill people's room requests (especially if they are simple, like mine were)!
Lesson learned: I will call ahead to ensure I don't get a room I don't want. And I'll get the name of the clerk too! [Less]
