Featured Monterrey Hotels

At the cusp of Mexico’s efforts to grow and develop into a prosperous nation and represents the third largest city in Mexico, Monterrey is recognized as an industrial and economic powerhouse. Throughout the city, you’ll find buildings that blend traditional and old world culture into modern-day colonial architecture. Aside from its business-centric attributes, Monterrey is home to an extensive restaurant and nightlife scene, prestigious universities, breathtaking views of the Sierra Madre Mountains, and several famous museums including the Museo del Vidrio and the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo.

Things to See

Monterrey’s main plaza, Gran Plaza, was created in the 1980’s and is now the heart of the business district. Amid the hustle and bustle of the business world, you’ll discover some of the city’s most historic buildings and museums. The Museo de Arte Contemporeo, acclaimed as one of the top museums in the country, houses exhibits of famous Mexican and international artists. Another must-see museum is the Cerro del Obispado. Formally the home of the Bishop de Monterrey, this museum boasts sprawling views of the city and contains the regional history museum. The Macro Plaza is a large park lined with fountains and gardens that house historic monuments where you can walk around and spend an afternoon exploring. After strolling through the park, seek out Zona Rosa to find a restaurant to grab a bite to eat or wander through the upscale shops and galleries.

IHG® combines convenience, comfort, and luxury with properties located near the plaza and many of the city’s historic sites. Whether you travel for business or leisure, you can easily find a place to stay that is perfect for everything you have planned for your trip to Monterrey.

Where to Stay

Gran Plaza is one of the largest plazas in the world. Full of energy and beautiful walkways and fountains, the plaza houses many of the city’s most well-known buildings, such as the cathedral, the Government Palace, and the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo. Zona Rosa is home to many luxury shops and top-rated restaurants as well as shopping malls and modern commercial centers similar to those found in the United States. In the historic and eclectic part of the city, Barrio Antiguo, you can catch a glimpse of Monterrey’s past while exploring the trendy art galleries, chic cafés and antique shops.

How to Get to Monterrey

The Monterrey International Airport (IATA: MTY) offers daily flights to and from all major Mexican destinations as well as a large variety of U.S. cities, such as Detroit, Atlanta, Dallas, and many others. To get to your destination, you can either find a taxi counter inside the terminal and prepay your fare for an authorized taxi or opt for the shuttle that takes you to the bus station in the city center. There are also several rental car options found inside the terminal. When in the city center, taking a taxi or walking are your best options. If you are looking for a convenient way to see the city, there are tourist trolleys and riverboats along the Paseo Santa Lucia. Use caution when traveling around the city after dark or in unfamiliar areas, avoiding the bars and nightclubs after 10 or 11 PM in most areas of the city.

Very polite and good staff. Great service
By Utkarsh
Overall experience was good with very friendly and polite staff. Just breakfast should have more variety and weekend breakfast should be managed in a better way. No food was available on weekends and [More] had to wait for around 20-25 mins for my turn. Just before a day of checkout, my credit card was blocked again of complete amount without any information. One person can make a difference
By Mocr
During my stay Gerardo, the bellboy/chofer/concierge made every posiible to make my stay memorable. Recommended places, helped with the luggsge, and he was always attentive, helpful, without being [More] obstrusive. In regards to the complimentary breakfast, I understand that we should not expect a grand buffet, but at leat you should try to give your guests the vest quality possible. The only iitem I suggest you should improve is the "ham". The one you offer is bologne amd it is the lowest quality possible, fill with flours, nitrates and sodium. [Less]

Gym Improvements Needed
By Cooper
My only complaint regarding my recent stay at the Holiday Inn Monterrey Valle is the quality of the gym. The only non-cardio equipment is an outdated machine that has very limited options for [More] workouts. A rack of free weights would significantly improve the overall quality of the gym, as most of the other Holiday Inns tend to have free weights. [Less]

Quiet, clean, large room
By Jennifer
I was traveling for work and it was important for me to relax once I got back to my room, be able to work quietly on my computer and get a good night's rest. My room was exceptionally quiet and my [More] bed was very comfortable. I had everything I needed while I was there. Upon initial arrival, I was missing a hair dryer and ironing board in my room, but called the front desk and got both items after a short amount of time, although I don't speak Spanish and it may have been difficult to understand what I was asking for. It was also important to me that because I didn't speak Spanish, that the people were very understanding, helpful and patient, and worked with me to get what I needed, and that is exactly what I got from the staff. The only small issue I had was that one of the bathroom lights was burned out, but I didn't ask for it to be fixed because I was able to see well enough. [Less]
