This hustling little city is located in the northwestern part of Texas and situated at the southern end of the High Plains. Rock 'n' roll historians know it as the birthplace of Buddy Holly and the home of The Buddy Holly Center. It's also known as Hub City because of its spoke-and-wheel roadways along with being the hub for many industries in West Texas.

Lubbock has a small airport known as Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport, but fliers will probably need to board a connecting flight in Dallas or Houston. And if traveling by car, routes US 62/82, US 84, I-27 and TX 114 all lead into town for an easy trip with no traffic.
