Southampton is a city that dates back to Roman times and has a rich maritime history that lives on in its exciting attractions and cultural venues. Today, visitors to our Holiday Inn® Southampton hotels will find a modern, busting city at the heart of England's South Coast.
Not sure where to start? Check out the aptly named Leisure World, a mega entertainment center that features a multi-screen cinema, Grosvenor Casino, Oceana nightclub and an assortment of bars and restaurants. You'll also find music venues, traditional pubs, trendy bars and techno clubs that come alive as the rest of the city sleeps.
Indulge your cultural palate with a visit to the celebrated City Art Gallery or peruse the contemporary exhibits at John Hansard Gallery. If you're craving some theatre during your Southampton hotel stay, you're in for a real treat. The city is home to the Mayflower, one of largest theaters in Southern England, showcasing West End musicals, ballet and opera, as well as the Nuffield Theatre which offers both Shakespeare and student works.
But it's not all about the urban lifestyle. Just minutes from our Southampton hotels, you'll discover areas of natural beauty, such as the New Forest, the ancient cathedral cities of Salisbury and Winchester, and the beaches of Bournemouth. Catch a Southampton FC soccer match at St. Mary's Stadium or wander the picturesque grounds of Southampton Common. If you're fortunate enough to be visiting our Southampton hotels during the warmer months, you'll defiantly want to take a sailing course.
With all these attractions, is it any wonder why this costal city is one of our most popular leisure destinations? Book a stay at any one of our Holiday Inn Southampton hotels and discover why for yourself.
Recommended, nice to relax in the spa and friendly staff. Relaxed atmosphere[Less]
Great stay as usual
I stay here fairly often, but not as often since Covid, it’s just got better and better, more professional and polite reception, the food quality is very good I would not consider staying anywhere[More] else
We stayed here as part of the paultons park short break and it's a great hotel child friendly clean super comfortable beds and the breakfast was delicious with plenty to choose from[Less]
All staff were amazing and very helpful and welcoming the family room was excellent and very clean and was very helpful in having a bath as I had my little ones too[Less]
Good food and service
Chose here because of location and hg member so got a good deal and free drinks. Good food and service.[Less]
I stayed on a business trip and found that staff and accommodation tk be excellent... just a little annoyed that the hotel has decided to be a quarantine hotel[Less]
Sort the lifts out
I have stayed here several times and mostly everything is ok, its just the lifts, they were never great but on my last stay i had visions of having to climb the stairs to the 9th floor, get them[More] fixed, you must have a hot line to the engineers they were a permanent fixture when i was there, its very disconcerting getting in a lift you know is unreliable, also the staff are having to use these lifts when customers are trying to get their suitcases down. The wait to actually get into a lift is rediculous, and its usually full when it arrives anyway. No the plus side the breakfast is really good, and the staff friendly.[Less]
Good quality beds and great location
Bed was comfortable; location is good for parking - but make sure you check in your car, otherwise you'll get fined by a third party.[Less]
I've stayed here a few times and the Hotel is pleasant. The Hotel doesn't appear well staffed when I arrive and it seems to be a long check-in process for some reason, which can be a bit frustrating[More] when you've had a long day at work and want to check-in quickly[Less]
