Booked this as a day room before international flight. Excellent location just a couple blocks from Mascot train station. Easy walk directly south on same street as the station. Very Convenient Location and Good Value for Pre-cruise

We had a prepaid reservation at another hotel where they refused to honor the reservation that we had made months earlier. We were left standing on a busy street. We were able to get online to a 3rd [More] party supplier who gave us a room at this hotel. It turned a very bad experience for our first visit to Australia into a pleasant surprise when we saw how nice the hotel was and that at the last minute we received a decent rate. We could not get our IHG points for the 3 nights but we did get our points for the other charges that we made at the hotel. We were on our way to join a world cruise and this hotel allowed us to rest after our long journey from the States. [Less]

Best location for a night out in Sydney. Right in the heart of Kings Cross, easy to get the train, taxi or parking. Views are worth a million dollars. Just wish it had a pool. Have stayed here a few [More] times and love it. Always happy to come back. [Less]
Wonderful Staff & Location

We were a group of two couples & stayed at this Holiday Inn, Potts Point, Feb. 3rd, 4th & 5th, 2019. We had been on a cruise around New Zealand which ended in Sydney, AU. I booked this hotel by phone [More] & chose Holiday Inn as we try to stay at these hotels and are rewards members. We had no problem getting a taxi at the ship port to the hotel. The girls at the check-in desk were very pleasant. Upon checking in we discovered that one room was booked as Deluxe & one not. I wish I had gotten the name of the girl who checked on this for me, as she was extremely pleasant, kind & helpful. I will say, the best check-in ever! I had told the other couple that I would take the deluxe room as it was more expensive. The girl looked it up & saw the two rooms I booked were at approximately the same time. I had told her that it was an error if the rooms were not the same. She immediately apologized & fixed the problem, making them 2 Standard Rooms. We arrived quite early as our ship docked early. I sent an email letting the HI know we would be early and if there was no room available, we would like for them to hold our bags. The girl put a rush on one room which was great & we were in the room within an hour. The other couple stored their luggage in our room, which was not a problem for us at all. I also asked if I could use a phone to confirm a tour we had booked for the next day. The girl called herself & did this for us! What more could we ask! We were told where we could get on the Hop-On-Hop-Off bus, which was quite close. When we returned from our day, we headed for our rooms. My husband & had partially unpacked when we noticed how warm the room was. The thermostat was set on 69 & the room temperature was showing 78 degrees. I called down & they sent someone to check on it for us. The fellow agreed that air was coming out but not cool. He said he could bring in a couple of fans or I could contact the front desk for options. The girl at the front desk said they would move us to another room. She came up with a luggage cart & helped us load up all our items & led us to another room where the a/c was working. Her name was Natasha, and as sweet as she could be. She apologized numerous times for the inconvenience, knowing we had a problem also when we checked in getting the room types straightened out. The room & bathroom were quite spacious, larger than rooms in the States. The next day when we returned to our room there was a lovely plate of fruit and a hand written note from the front desk saying they were sorry for the problems we had encountered. The morning of departure I called the front desk for a taxi to take us to the airport. When we went down and checked out, the taxi seemed to be running late. The gentleman at the desk called another taxi for us. I knew we would be later leaving than I anticipated, but I had allowed plenty of time. Shortly a shuttle pulled up in front of the hotel (not our ride). The desk clerk said if we wanted to take the shuttle he would call and cancel the taxi. We decided to take the shuttle, which ended up cheaper than a taxi. The problems with the type of room being incorrect and then the a/c not working could have gone down a completely different path. However, the kindness shown to us offset everything. Oh, I forgot that they gave us numerous bottles of water (my husband uses a CPAP machine) throughout our stay. If we were to re-visit Sydney, we would definitely choose this Holiday Inn again. [Less]

This hotel has a good location -- lots of restaurants and shops and supermarkets in the area, and it is only a couple of steps away from the subway station. The hotel's front desk staff is terrific, [More] and the restaurant is fine. However, the rooms are somewhat small and are in need of updating, and the room cleaning service is lackadaisical at best.
