I was sent on a work assignment in Bryan/College Station for three weeks and was excited to stay here as it was close to my work duty point. I travel often for work & have been an IHG member for 5+
years. With that being said, I booked my room on the IHG website a month earlier, as always, with the "card saved on file" Well that card is no longer valid, however, the website does not tell you that & let's you book the room. Two hours before check-in time, a lady from the front desk called my cell saying "THE CARD ENDING in 0XXX DECLINED" I use all caps because, although she was extremely friendly, she was also extremely loud. Once I arrived to check in, I informed her that I was sitting in a room full of colleagues when she called & they all heard her. She apologized but I was still a little perturbed, as I have never had anyone call to tell me that. Typically upon arrival, I'm asked if I still want to use the card that I booked with originally, I'd say no & hand over the correct card. Other than that I had no issues with the front desk staff as they were all nice.
Breakfast was good with the exception of the oatmeal. It was super watery & the one day it wasn't, it was not even hot once I begin eating it. I love oatmeal so that was huge disappointment!
The rooms were very spacious, modern and clean however housekeeping never replaced my lotion after the first day. Keep in mind I stayed here for 3 weeks. When going to the front desk to request more, I was given four small bottles of a different brand. The next day, I was certain that I would have a replacement after alerting the front desk of the issue but nope. Additionally, at least one of the housekeeping staff has long black hair as it was all over my shower and even in some of my "clean" towels. I used the gym daily and it was very spacious, had plenty of equipment however, for the three weeks I was there, while there is a water cooler, there were not any cups.
Overall, my stay was nice but I expected more due to the hotel being new. I frequent College Station/Bryan often and may stay again. [Less]
