We have two York hotels for visitors to enjoy in this beautiful and historic city. We have one situated beside York’s famous racecourse, just 2 miles from the city centre. Our second is just 2.5 miles North East of the centre.
When in York, you simply can’t miss York Minster Cathedral. It’s the largest gothic cathedral to be found in Northern Europe and is certainly an architectural marvel. It’s the not the only one either, the city’s castle and walls are equally as impressive.
While you’re walking around the city centre enjoying these sights, take a stroll along the street known as ‘The Shambles.’ This long, quaint street is the most visited street in Europe and many of its medieval features are still visible alongside its shops.
The Shambles isn’t the only place to shop. Many other streets around the centre also house unique boutiques and shops and if you’re looking for High Street brands, then the Coppergate Shopping Centre will be just what you need.
The already mentioned racecourse sits right by the side of one of our York hotels. If your visit does coincide with a horse race meeting at York, do try and get a ticket. It’s a great action packed day out.
Getting to York couldn’t be easier. It’s not far from the A1 motorway. York train station is a busy one, with plenty of direct trains to London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Birmingham and other major cities in the UK.
If you’re planning to visit this stunning city, let us make you right at home in one of our York hotels.
