Featured Cambridge Hotels

Be our guest at Holiday Inn Express® hotels in Cambridge, home of Cambridge University and other renowned colleges, and before long you'll be exploring the city's stunning university architecture or sipping tea in a bustling, student-filled cafe.

Lose yourself in the celestial sounds of the King's College choir in the landmark King's College Chapel. Nineteen-year-old Henry VI laid the chapel's first stone in 1441, but it wasn't until the reign of Henry VIII more than 100 years later that the building was finally completed. Our Cambridge hotels are close to the city center, where you can browse the world-class art collection inside the Fitzwilliam Museum, including masterworks by Titian and van Dyck and ancient Roman and Greek artifacts. Slow down the pace and rent a punt (flat-bottomed boat) at Magdalene Bridge, not far from our hotels in Cambridge. You can cruise the quiet waters of the River Cam and admire the city's universities from a different perspective as you pass under landmark bridges. Don't miss the charmingly chaotic Mathematical Bridge behind Queen's College.

Join the student population around bustling Benet Street where pubs come alive each evening and the narrow streets are filled with good-natured chatter. Do as the students do and grab a book from one of the city's plentiful secondhand bookshops for a leisurely cafe read. A short bus ride from our Cambridge hotels takes you to waterside gastro-pubs along 'The Backs' of the River Cam. On sunny days, the tree-lined riverbank is a popular hangout and a great spot to enjoy alfresco dining or picnicking by the water's edge.

Stay at our Holiday Inn Express hotels in Cambridge to explore the historic streets of this quintessential university town, or escape into the rural idyll of Cambridgeshire, with its charming chalk streams and hedgerows.

Nice friendly staff

Nice little hotel for a stop over, reasonably quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable [Less]
Friendly and efficient
By Harry Who
From the moment we arrived we were made welcome and the reception staff went out of their way to meet our needs. The bedroom was spacious and clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was well [More] laid out with a shower cubicle. If I have one small complaint it's that the shower cubicle was in need of treatment to remove black mould from the seals. A common complaint in many hotel bathrooms. The breakfast was excellent as was the evening meal we had in the adjoining Red Lion pub. We will certainly return. [Less]
Comfortable hotel, good location
By Baz48
The hotel is located in a small village next to the Cambridge to London railway line (the hotel is very close to the Whittlesford Parkway station and there is some train noise). There are regular [More] trains into Cambridge and London, making it a good base for trips into both. It's also less than a mile away from the Imperial War Museum Duxford, a great place to visit. The rooms are comfortable and staff are friendly, the breakfast is OK but nothing special. [Less]
Clean and Comfortable
By Theo
The Bedford HIE is up to the usual high standards in terms of cleanliness and comfort, and the staff are very helpful. The hotel is located right next to the dual carriageway which is handy for [More] driving but also is the reason for my main problem with the hotel - it is in the middle of nowhere and there is nowhere to walk for an evening stroll. Either you drive somewhere or you are stuck in the hotel. [Less]
Excellent Visit
By Den57
We have stayed at this establishment on a previous occasion whilst visiting a relative in the area so new what standards to expect. Our expectations were completely fulfilled. The only problem being [More] a non functioning heating system in our allotted room. The corridor outside was considerably warmer ! Once reported to the most helpful lady at reception we were immediately supplied with two free standing room heaters. The heaters worked brilliantly and quite unobtrusively, in fact one was quite sufficient on this particular night as although it was December it was not all that cold. Thoroughly enjoy the breakfast. Thank you sincerely one and all. [Less]

A Welcome Relief
By Adie01
I was greeted by the staff, who went that extra mile, after an unexpected late arrival. My requests were dealt with quickly and the staff assisted me in ensuring I made my next leg of my journey as [More] swiftly as possible. I would highly recommend the hotel based on the staffs willingness to help. Thank you. [Less]

A warm welcome by friendly staff started a relaxing few days stay. The room was clean well laid out with a very comfortable bed Internet was easy to connect to and never faltered. After a [More] comfortable nights sleep a varied breakfast was available and was put on earlier than listed due to an early start by the team This was the same through out the stay with some plesant nights in the bar Easy checking out highly recommend [Less]
