The Candlewood was home base for my wife while I was having a hip replaced at a surgery center practically next door. Upon check in and some well-meaning questions from the clerk as to reason for
our stay, she suggested we try one of the easily accessible rooms for wheelchairs, etc. just in case our stay included time after my hospital release, along with the fact I wasn't the most mobile to begin with, hence the surgery. That was just the beginning of how thoughtful the staff was here. The room was surprisingly well layed out, with plenty of space to get comfortable. The bathroom seemed huge, and the kitchenette included a 2 burner stove, microwave, utensils, and a full size fridge.
Now, even though my wife insisted on sleeping in my room at the hospital on some silly fold-out thing, it was reassuring to know she had a safe, comfortable place to shower and fix a meal. We have spent good money for a hotel room we would not return to for free, but the value of the Candlewood, including the incredible staff, location, and overall satisfaction, was well beyond what I expected and I will gladly stay here from now on during any trips to Wichita. Thank you, Candlewood. You were there for us when we needed. [Less]
