Featured Des Moines Hotels

Book a stay at our Holiday Inn® Des Moines hotels and discover the charm of Iowa's capital city. Learn about the state's history on a tour of the domed State Capitol, then dine on steaks, sushi or Thai at Des Moines' hip East Village restaurants.

Our Des Moines hotels put you in the center of the capital's best attractions. World-renowned architects Pei, Saarinen and Meier collaborated to design the Des Moines Art Center, a gem of a museum housing masterworks by Matisse, O'Keeffe, Rothko and Richter. The contemporary architecture of Des Moines' State Historical Building is no less striking. Behind its granite and glass walls lie interactive exhibits on Iowa's Native American culture, pioneer prairie life and the rise and fall of the woolly mammoth. Our hotels in Des Moines are also near the impressive gold-leaf dome of the Iowa State Capitol, which you can explore on free hour-long tours.

The city's hip East Village neighborhood lies near our Des Moines hotels. Just east of downtown, the East Village draws locals with boutique shops selling one-of-a-kind jewelry, trendy denim and chunky boots. Interspersed with the shops are Des Moines' most inventive restaurants. In the summer, diners head downtown to street-side bistros conveniently close to our hotels in Des Moines. Take your pick from the wide range of choices, from oyster bars to Thai diners to steakhouses serving up tender Midwestern beef.

Stay in our Holiday Inn Des Moines hotels in spring, when the capital city introduces Iowa's most flavorful vintages at its annual Winefest Des Moines celebration. In August, the Iowa State Fair showcases one of the world's largest livestock shows and offers lots of free entertainment.

Great Conference Area
By ChrisOlson
The addition of the conference area to this hotel is very nice. I have been coming to this hotel for 18 years to attend a conference. Before it always had to be held in the court yard area, which is [More] ok. (the roof to dome needs work) The cafe has great breakfast and the service there is always wonderful. The workout area at this hotel has free weights up to 50 pounds. The exercise equipment could use updating and the addition of a bowflex type machine to do multiple exercises on would be great as well. [Less]
