The front desk staff was the best. Suna welcomed us very warmly and professionally. Besim was courteous, friendly, efficient and very helpful. Christopher showed his stewardship when the power in
the neighborhood went out and the hotel reverted to backup emergency lighting. He immediately investigated to make sure nobody was trapped in the elevator. This was made difficult by having to run up and down the staircase 8 floors a few times while Brussels was having a heat wave, which made this procedure extremely strenuous. My wife and I made numerous observations that both Chris and Besim were going well above and beyond what anybody could reasonably expect to insure that the guests were accounted for and safe, and as comfortable as could be under the conditions. IHG should consider themselves very lucky to have such empathetic and professional staff. Even though they were understaffed, they still performed far greater than anyone could reasonably expect.
When we arrived in our room, there was only one towel. Suna at the front desk apologized and got us the second towel as soon as she could.
A spoon with the coffee utensils was dirty, and was never replaced with a clean one even after we set it aside in order to bring attention to it.
Most of the drinking glasses were dirty.
The shower soap dispenser was nearly exhausted when we arrived, and we ran out during our stay.
The in room coffee packages we used every day were never checked or replaced and we ran out during our stay, never to be resupplied. [Less]
