Slow Front Desk Check In

My travel partner is native French. Language had nothing to do with the slow nature of service.

The check in person did not recognize my IHG status, nor offer an upgrade as is usual. Nor were the welcome points or gift covered. What should be a quick process was over five minutes.

Rooms are large for Paris. However the sound insulation is horrid. You will hear the staff and other guests walking up and down stairs as you try to sleep in.

Worst of all is the WiFI. We had a very helpful (different From Check in) front desk gentleman print some tickets for a show. He said that the internet is slow for them as well and it may take 10 minutes for the email to go through. I felt bad for him.
