Featured Edinburgh Hotels

Whether it's business or leisure that brings you to the Scottish capital, you'll find spacious rooms, comfortable beds and modern amenities are waiting for you at all Holiday Inn Express® Edinburgh hotels.

Check in then check out this fascinating city that blends medieval castles with modern architecture and offers world-class museums, excellent shopping and dining, and festivals year-round.

Edinburgh's city center is divided into Old Town and New Town with the Princes Street Gardens directly in the middle.
Both Old Town and New Town have been honored as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and if you choose one of our Edinburgh hotels in the city, you'll be happy to know that these areas are easily accessible by foot.

Old Town dates back to the Middle Ages and offers the big tourist draws:
the storied Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace, the Royal Mile and Mary King's Close, underground tenements that date back to the 16th century.

The Georgian New Town is the commercial heart of the city and dates back to the late 18th century.

Here you'll find the city's best shopping and arts.
The National Gallery of Scotland features both masterpieces and traveling exhibitions, and if you're craving a little theatre during your Edinburgh hotel stay, you can catch a West End show at the Edinburgh Playhouse, Europe's largest theatre.

Edinburgh is also a great destination for sports enthusiasts.

Murrayfield Stadium hosts the UK's biggest rugby matches, as well as regular games for the official Edinburgh Rugby team. Edinburgh also boasts two professional football clubs (soccer to American audiences) and an American-style football team, the Edinburgh Wolves.
If you're staying at our East Edinburgh hotel, you can enjoy the big game, then head to the waterfront district for dinner and cocktails. Or skip the sports all together and enjoy a leisurely day at the beach.

Of course, this is only a small sampling of what you can expect.
Our Edinburgh hotels also make an excellent base during the summer festival season and popular Hogmanay New Year's celebration.

staff can't do enough for you
By bluesmammabear
we keep to same few hotels as all staff members from the housekeeper all the way through the hotel staff upto management nothing is a hassle, they are so kind and helpful no mater what time of [More] day/night. the pool is a not bad size, again staff are exceptionally helpful and kids have plenty fun. Bedrooms are clean, nice and big only down side is the double bed is so uncomfortable i do not get any sleep unless i share the single pullout bed with the kids but even then the heating system is far too noisy it even makes the toilet door rattle and bang. nice tea tray only problem 4 people in the room with 2 mugs not enough tiny pods of milk (4) especially when you need 3 or 4 to even make a drink and only 1 glass in bathroom. drinks from the bar is too expensive i.e. £5 for a morgans and dash. Breakfast is superb for the whole family [Less]

Nice Hotel, Rooms need updating
By Shampoo72
A really good hotel for the money, our second visit. However, i feel the rooms now need updating and are looking a bit jaded. The room temps are never good at these types of hotels, either being [More] to hot or to cold. They never seem to get it right resulting in broken sleep. Apart from that, the breakfast is great and so was the evening meal which we got free on a two night stop over deal. The staff are also very good and work very hard to meet your needs. I would recomend if you are on a budget (which most familys are today). [Less]
Wonderful stay
By Solo_Traveller_7
A wonderful hotel, sited close (walking distance) to the attractions and run by attentive staff. I was impressed by the complimentary mini bar containing non alcoholic drinks and snacks. Rooms were [More] comfortable, well decorated and maintained. Looking forward to staying again when I next visit. [Less]

Comfortable and clean.
By Teeny Weeny
We stayed for one night and had a lovely time. The room was spacious and clean but I didn't really like the telly being positioned at the foot of the bed. I know some people would be fine with this. [More] The bathroom was clean but not enough toiletries provided for two- we ran out of body wash. We both slept really well in a comfortable bed. The breakfast was huge and absolutely delicious. Reception staff were very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend the hotel. [Less]

Good Service
By Dessie1305
The location of this hotel was very central. It was our first visit to Edinburgh - we were a 10 minute walk away form Waverley train station. the hotel was close to the Royal mile, Carlton Hill, [More] playhouse, Omni Centre and Aurthers seat - all great things to come and see when visiting. There were many places around the hotel to eat and drink. The hotel itself was great - they have friendly staff, ice machine, wifi and a good breakfast. The matress and pillows were comfortable and the towles lovely and soft. They provided handwash at the basin, and shower gel in the showers (there are no baths only showers) There are tea and coffee facilities in the room plus a tv, heater and fan. Great location, good hotel. [Less]
