Featured Edinburgh Hotels

Whether it's business or leisure that brings you to the Scottish capital, you'll find spacious rooms, comfortable beds and modern amenities are waiting for you at all Holiday Inn Express® Edinburgh hotels.

Check in then check out this fascinating city that blends medieval castles with modern architecture and offers world-class museums, excellent shopping and dining, and festivals year-round.

Edinburgh's city center is divided into Old Town and New Town with the Princes Street Gardens directly in the middle.
Both Old Town and New Town have been honored as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and if you choose one of our Edinburgh hotels in the city, you'll be happy to know that these areas are easily accessible by foot.

Old Town dates back to the Middle Ages and offers the big tourist draws:
the storied Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace, the Royal Mile and Mary King's Close, underground tenements that date back to the 16th century.

The Georgian New Town is the commercial heart of the city and dates back to the late 18th century.

Here you'll find the city's best shopping and arts.
The National Gallery of Scotland features both masterpieces and traveling exhibitions, and if you're craving a little theatre during your Edinburgh hotel stay, you can catch a West End show at the Edinburgh Playhouse, Europe's largest theatre.

Edinburgh is also a great destination for sports enthusiasts.

Murrayfield Stadium hosts the UK's biggest rugby matches, as well as regular games for the official Edinburgh Rugby team. Edinburgh also boasts two professional football clubs (soccer to American audiences) and an American-style football team, the Edinburgh Wolves.
If you're staying at our East Edinburgh hotel, you can enjoy the big game, then head to the waterfront district for dinner and cocktails. Or skip the sports all together and enjoy a leisurely day at the beach.

Of course, this is only a small sampling of what you can expect.
Our Edinburgh hotels also make an excellent base during the summer festival season and popular Hogmanay New Year's celebration.

Great service
By KML789
Standard as expected from a holiday inn, it is a very busy hotel but noise wasn't bad at all, although we could hear the zoo early in the morning!! We liked that but others may not. The staff were [More] extremely helpful and friendly as I would expect. Very easy to get into centre of Edinburgh with bus stops directly outside the hotel, the pool was lovely and very warm - not a freezing hotel pool like you find in some. [Less]
Friendly staff great location.

Even although there were large parties we still got checked in and out quickly. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great location for getting in and out of Edinburgh with busses and taxi's close by. [Less]
Great location near city center

Would use again, friendly and helpful staff, food was good but a little too expensive to eat in, other wise was very happy with all other facilities. [Less]
They had a room, probably because of the price
By The real Flicker
I've stayed in many hotels and this was average at best especially given the price per night. The alarm by using the TV worked, but I have a hard time trusting anything entered by a program, so I did [More] not sleep well for fear of missing our wake up at 0400. It did work as they said it would, but I have experienced too many failures to trust computer programming [Less]

Wonderful accommodation with great hospitality
By gazman568
From the time we stepped into the reception area until we left, we were made to feel welcome. Upon arrival the personal touch of being recognized as a IHG member made me feel extra special being [More] our first point of stay for our holiday in Scotland. The staff were very helpful the whole time we stayed even to the point of organizing direct response to getting the issue with air conditioner attended to by maintenance team almost immediately. As we arrived late in the day I said the next day would be fine as we didn't really need that night anyway. I was happy to see that cleaning staff kept a great vigil on our room during our entire stay keeping necessary requirements updated daily while we were there for the week. I guess the only thing I could suggest to improve is if they could actually change attitude of other guests with regards to consideration but unfortunately that is part of human nature which is sad. I find this is an issue no matter where you stay and when you have the closing of doors constantly not to mention some people don't know how to talk softly/normally, its an ever standing one. Summing up, this is an awesome place to stay while visiting Edinburgh and is easy to get around even with public transport. Even has the Royal Yacht Britannia almost on its doorstep. Great work Team. We will definitely be back at some point. Thank you! [Less]
